I think I agree with you, peeayebee. I took it as a joke about Glen seeing things that aren't there. But I can also see a scenario where Marshall and Glen do know each other and are possibly working together as the murderers and that's why Marshall shot Glen. We'll find out (maybe) in the next episode.

Theo usually features in the seventh episode, so maybe. I've not read anything yet that says he's in this series, but I hope to see him too. He's one of my favorite characters.

I didn't realize Oliver was dressed like McEnroe used to for matches until he showed up. Good for a laugh!

So, the movie production is why Sazz was killed? I think someone said in earlier threads that there might be two people involved with the murder, one to kill and one to clean up. But we don't really know anything for certain yet, other than Bev Melon is kind of a loon. 😆 The actor playing the writer is also in Pachinko and I am very excited to see him is this show as well. He's amazing. Charles Kaufmann, whose book Marshall kept looking at, and whose look he was trying to emulate, wrote Adaptation and wrote a fictitious twin brother for himself in the movie. Nicholas Cage played both brothers in the movie. I don't know if every movie they've referenced in the titles for this series of OMITB has offered a clue to the show, but Adaptation certainly points up the theme of doubles, or twins, which has been commented on in earlier threads. You can read the plot of the movie here. It gives me more ideas about the possible solution to this season. Maybe. Nice to see Paul Rudd again, loved Oliver trying to beat the timeline, and loved Marshall. Still not sure why Sazz was a threat to anyone, or who the killer(s) is/are. But I am really enjoying this season.

Only Speculation Without Spoilers In the Thread
cardigirl replied to shapeshifter's topic in Only Murders In The Building
For several reasons, I have a suspect for the murder and I want to place it here, just in case I'm right (although I never am). -
I remember really loving that movie, too.

As much as I would love for this to be true, as I am not a fan of Howard, he seems to be beloved by the audience, so I could see him as the next victim for next season, but I don't think he's the murderer.

Concerning cadaver dogs: How long after death can a cadaver dog detect? Dogs are able to pick up a scent within minutes of death or years later. In some studies, they have found 25-year-old skeletonized remains, buried in an area of 300 by 150 feet. How effective are cadaver dogs? A trained cadaver dog is 95 percent effective at picking up the scents of human decomposition, including bodies that are buried up to 15 feet deep. Law enforcement groups rely on cadaver dogs to help solve crimes where a dead body is suspected. Howard told Mabel that Gravey was a cadaver dog when she corrected his spelling of gravy. Then she remembered how Gravey acted in the kitchen when they first met the dog and when they went back to the Arconia to confirm their suspicions about why they couldn't reach Sazz, they must have asked Howard to meet them there, to see if Gravey reacted again. Only time will tell (and viewing more episodes) if this is an elaborate setup in someway or more straightforward.

Same here!

During Mabel's confrontation with the Westies in the apartment. Christmas all the time guy said his girlfriend was from Finland.

This was pretty good! Still crushing on Vince, and all of the tropical scenes. I have no idea how all of this will resolve, but I fear for so many to not make it out alive. Will not writing up the restaurant with rats came back to haunt our hero?

If it's not a "faked" death, then it could be that Sazz went into hiding (although she looked very injured to me) because she wants everyone to think she's dead (especially the murderer) while she recovers and continues sleuthing, OR someone is holding her prisoner. It's possible that the shooter came to the apartment, saw she was not yet dead, and took her away. Or some other happening we've not been privy to. This episode certainly brought up the idea of her still being alive with the "not turning to dust" and "no body, no funeral" so it's fair to say the writers are at least trying to plant the idea. As far as Bev Melon, she seems rather obvious to me, but then, I never picked up on Jan until the 8th episode, or Poppy, or Cliff and Donna (I really did not want them to be the ones, either), so I'm pretty bad at spotting the murderer. Looking forward to the next episode for more information on Bev. And I loved Paul Rudd in this episode. I thought it was brilliant to bring him back and reinforce the theme of doubles. He could mean nothing to the central story or everything (which is what I hope) but we will have to wait and see.☺️

We don't know that you were right, yet! I prefer to think that Bev Melon is not involved with murder. I remember in the first season when Oliver and Mabel were taken hostage by Theo. While there were nefarious goings on with Theo and Teddy, they weren't the murderers. And I think Mabel's and Charles' reaction to Sazz's death has been pretty grave. I think Oliver is probably saddened too, but he's so self-absorbed, he doesn't express it much. So, while the theme of "no body, not dead" was mentioned, I tend to think the writers are playing with us. (Happy to admit I'm wrong at the end of the season, IF I am. 😉)

Who is sending them ham from Portugal if the professor doesn't exist? I didn't get that he/she wasn't real, just living like royalty in Portugal. Ben Glenroy pops up, hmmmm. Well, his stunt double at least. So glad to see Paul Rudd again. Reluctantly, I may be beginning to believe that Sazz is alive and in hiding (or being held captive) somewhere, mostly because of the stunt bar refusing to hold a funeral because there was no body. (Until Charles filled in as a "double" for Sazz.) And now there is this Paradise, NJ trampoline park. Great place to disappear to. Loved all of Charles's dream sequences showing Sazz in various states of injury. He really was clueless to the toll taken on her.

Okay ... What?!!!!??? Mind blown! Loved this episode! Will be back later for more commenting!

All is not paradise in Greece. I was rooting for Susan to take the job! Crete is beautiful, but running a hotel is not my idea of a good time. Nice to return to this universe, looking forward to the rest of the story.

I just watched another show on Hulu, "How to Die Alone," and the second episode featured a Presunto or Iberico ham that was confiscated at the airport. They said the ham was valued at $4000 (an investment ham, ha ha). I just thought it was interesting in light of the use of the ham in OMITB this season. Ham is everywhere, especially illegally imported hams! 😁

I think Sazz is dead. I think of all of the theories I've had over the seasons and none of them were correct (apparently red herrings seem like real clues to me). But I cannot come up with a reason for Sazz to have staged this. Now, if she had decided she needed to hide somewhere, then maybe it was her on the text message, trying to move the trio to go to LA, and get involved with the movie. This means there is an injured Sazz somewhere, but I do not think so. There was a clip in the previouslies for this episode where Sazz was telling Charles that people were wishing he had died on stage instead of Ben. She asked him then if he ever thought he was in danger. It was from Season 3. I think this murder might be tied back to season 3 the way the murder of Bunny for season 2 was tied back to season 1. Well, I mean, of course, it is, as it took place at the end of season 3, but I still think it's tied to Ben Glenroy in some way. (How's that for wild and outrageous? 😉)

Interesting thoughts on here about Sazz's identical cousin, but I have blanked on when, if ever, Sazz mentioned an identical cousin. Or any relatives at all. I'm sure someone can refresh my memory. I've been wondering about Sazz's phone. When the trio is trying to decide to head to LA, and Charles is hesitant because of Sazz, he suddenly gets a text from Sazz's phone saying she is back in LA to work with Bakula. It came as such an opportune time, I suspect that someone is listening in, like there may be a bug in the apartment. Clearly, someone was trying to drive them to go to LA. (To get them out of the way?) Someone also sent Lester a note about fixing the window in Charles' apartment, hoping to get rid of the bullet hole before the trio discovered it. There may be more than one person involved here. Just stray thoughts of mine.

Small Talk: Elevator Chat
cardigirl replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Only Murders In The Building
Agreed, House Hunters is very scripted. I know someone who was on the show and people who are featured have already purchased a house, the other two houses shown are to keep the audience guessing as to which one they will buy, plus allow the audience to view other homes. -
I have had suspicions about Loretta through the end of Season 3, and while I don't know if the person in the photo is her, so far she's the only character who has worn her hair that way. Someone else (possibly here or on another thread of the show) suggested that we may have not yet met the murderer, but I'm pretty sure we have, this show does seem to follow the rule of fair play, in that the murderer is introduced early and not added in late in the game. So ... Loretta could be a suspect, but seems unlikely, given that we've had one murderous girlfriend story already. I have a suspect, but no motive. Not going to name him/her yet, just going to see how things play out. Also, I hope the "why" of the murder is clued in earlier for the viewers. It always comes at the last episode, and is usually a COMPLETE surprise to me. Ha ha.

All The Spoilers In The Building Thread
cardigirl replied to shapeshifter's topic in Only Murders In The Building
Is there anybody from previous seasons that has been talked about but never seen? We already got Bakula. -
I was just coming on to say I thought it was a cap. I hadn't noticed the pigtails. Holy Moses it's Meryl, er, I mean, Loretta!

I enjoyed this immensely, and as a former English teacher, could identify with the main character feeling like teaching English means something. Laughed a lot at the dialogue and situations, was disappointed that the drag queen was a thief, but liked how the entire episode played out. It was fun! 😆

Yes, I was surprised that the show had Oliver be the one to suggest a stop at In and Out.
