  1. That makes sense. I've been wondering why she announced so early. Ofchris can easily beat Melanie, but we'll see about those younger sisters in-law (Chelsy, Elissa and eventually there will be an Ofjesse). I also think she announced early maybe, because she's relieved to be pregnant again. This baby will be almost two years younger than her last. Her youngest was born February 2018 and this is the longest she's gone since she was married without being pregnant. Yes Melanie just had a baby and no she is not pregnant again.
  2. I give up. I have no clue what he is selling. What is he supposed to be selling?
  3. The Christopher Maxwells dress like that. Chelsy dresses more modernly as do the rest of the Maxwells. Chris and Anna Marie are the only ones who dress like this and dress their kids that way.
  4. I've never figured out how to do post a photo, but somehow I was able to bring this photo overhere. (I'm not sure how this worked or why it worked.) For one time only, here's the photo in question announcing a pregnancy for Anna Marie (OfChris) Maxwell. I don't care about the quality of the photo, but the message it sends (beyond announcing the pregnancy). (She and Chris also have 2 sons.)
  5. Have you seen the way Jill cooks? And she cooks like her mother, imo. So Anna probably does cook delicious meals in comparison.
  6. The Maxwells announced a pregnancy for Anna Marie. They did a photo shoot for all the grandchildren. Then a final photo announcing the new pregnancy. That photo is one of my least favorite announcing a new pregnancy photos ever. Anna Marie and her three daughters all have front carry baby-carriers strapped on. The three girls have dolls in theirs. Anna Marie has sign that says "Coming February 2020" on hers. It seems a bit early to announce a pregnancy due in February now. She's 2 months along tops.
  7. I wasn't trying to suggest that the Duggars must or should name their babies after Mary, but that they probably some of them will. Josh and Anna are trying to get back in the public's good graces; naming their baby after Mary in some way would help with that. Since they are having a girl, maybe a form of Mary (Marie? Molly?) or just a middle name. Joe and Kendra named their son after Joe's grandfather Garrett David Ruark. So they like to use family names. Amy was close to her grandmother, and might chose something like Leo for Mary's middle name Leona or use Lester as a middle. Lauren and Joy seem less likely to name their kids after family, but I could see them maybe deciding to honor her anyway. People should name their kids what they want; I think some of them may want to name their kids after their grandmother.
  8. Alzsocks is their hashtag, as in the name of the event. It's a retro-inspired sock-hop to raise money and awareness. That's why Elvis is there. Another photo has a sign says "Sock it to Alzheimers"
  9. I think determining started in the early 90s as far as I remember. Reveal parties were officially started as a way to get gifts for later children. The first child gets the benefits of a baby shower, but there are less and less gifts for the second, third, etc. So people started doing sex reveals for the second or third child so they'll get more gifts. It particularly works when families have kids of mostly one sex. (Like two boys and baby #3 is ....)
  10. A 5th anniversary trip seems nice and a luxury no matter where they went. Most people I've known haven't made a big deal of the earlier anniversaries, especially when they have small kids. That selfie at the drive-through seems unnecessary. Since Jill might be pregnant, selfies in the car from the sternum up might help hide that. If Jill isn't pregnant, I wonder how she's coping. She seemed to really want a quiver and 2 kids in 5 years is not a lot in her culture. I've known a few families where they had 3 kids and expecting another when they hit the five year mark.
  11. I could see them all being named for Mary as well, mainly because there are so many choices. Mary and its variations, as well Leona and some variations (Mary's middle name) for the girls. For the boys, they might use some masculine form of Leona, like Leon, Leo, Leonardo, etc. Or Mary's maiden name, which was Lester.
  12. There's speculation that this is Amy standing next to Jer and Jill. I can't really tell. There's speculation that they were singing hymn and Jinger is playing piano.
  13. Maybe something like Marie, Maria, etc. that's technically not Mary.
  14. She goes by Suze, but Anna's sister's name is Susanna (this spelling). Good point though!
  15. Cathy's book is available to buy. I didn't know she had written a book and had it published.
  16. I think there might be some kind of story/announcement soon. Either a story about the Duggars with stuff we already know or even a new announcement (pregnancy, courtship, etc.). There also might be announcement from the Bates family; their fans are eager for Trace to formerly announce a courtship.
  17. I've been saying for weeks she looks pregnant, but she didn't today in her oversized clothes. They also seemed to be causually hinting at a pregnancy. I've said it before, but it wouldn't surprise me if she, Abbie, and Jinger are pregnant.
  18. This is quite a tribute to Grandma Mary. 😉 I get that's it something Mary apparently did with them, but it still seems like they really are making it all about her. And yes part of this is to relive Anna's glory days.
  19. He's the most professional minister of the family? and therefore is leading prayer.
  20. The Maxwells are on a role with bad crap this week. I posted on this thread about Sarah's Father Day post and Sarah's dog breeding business (Kansas Goldens). Today's blog post is about a quilt they were gifted. It's beautiful and from one of their fans. I like the quilt, but the post reminds me of Jill R. But the pièce de résistance this week so far is this post from Steve. Steve writes a column for men about being a dad and a husband. It's called Seriously Dads and only men should read it. (According to Steve). This week's column is called "The Curse of Summer". Here's the whole thing: "A family I know has backyard neighbors who have a swimming pool. The view is close and unrestricted when washing dishes or in the backyard. The problem is that neighbor chooses to wear swimming attire that is hardly noticeable. What a heartbreak. For anyone who takes Scripture seriously, such a “sight” is a curse. “Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids” (Proverbs 6:25). “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart” (Matthew 5:28). Even if the dad is able to avoid looking and lusting, will his wife be concerned for her husband’s heart? What about sons in their home? It takes great maturity and self-control to avoid such visual temptation for men, but adolescent sons probably don’t have that. Clearly there is no deference shown by that woman. Likely, she considers what she is wearing to be appropriate and appears to have little concern for defrauding her male neighbors and perhaps welcomes the attention. Sadly, today, many professing Christian women also show little, to no, deference for men and boys by what they wear to church or with family and friends, possibly seeking such attention. Most sin is private, but immodesty is “in-your-face” to those near. Sad times indeed. Summer is here dads." Get some blinds or curtains! The backyard is a place a lot of guys probably don't bother to wear a shirt. I usually try to be somewhat respectful in my snark (even if doesn't seem that way), but Steve, this is for you. 🖕
  21. I actually like the white top. It would look better not tucked in. But that shirt doesn't appear to be what's she selling. She's selling the green pants and striped shirt. All of the clothes look bland, but not too bad. At least this boutique supports a shelter for abused women, which is something I can get behind.
  22. I don't dislike Jill that much, except when she plays "midwife". Get away from laboring women before you kill someone, idiot. I wouldn't trust her to deliver pizza to a pregnant woman.
  23. Speaking of the Maxwells, it was hoped that because the site was down that Sarah Maxwell had decided not to breed her dog Ellie! But it came back and this update was given recently: "Ellie has been bred, and we’ll be doing an ultrasound to confirm in July! If things go as expected, her litter will be due in August. Ellie’s pictured below at 8 weeks and her puppies will look very similar. English Cream Puppies: $2000 (plus Kansas sales tax, which is a state requirement) We have enough interest right now to cover the first picks of male and female. But, once the litter is born, and we know how many puppies and gender, we’ll be able to take more deposits. Please contact me at this link if you’re interested in being put on the list to be notified. The deposit simply secures your puppy spot. The $300 deposit is non-refundable. The puppy comes with limited AKC registration. The limited part simply means you won’t be able to breed your dog. One thing that sets KansasGoldens apart from others is this is my pet. Yep! She’s pretty spoiled and well taken care of. In fact, I’ve never boarded her at a kennel, and she sleeps in my room! Another thing that sets us apart is we don’t require a puppy application. Since you’re investing in a puppy of this caliber, I feel you will properly take care of your dog. English Cream Golden Retriever puppies go fast!" This pretty much sums it up, except that I'll add a note about dog breeds. Sarah has been insisting that her almost-white blonde Retriever is it's own breed except it's not. "English Cream" is an invented term for this dog and it's possible the puppies will come out looking like a darker blonde golden retriever. The AKC doesn't recognize this "English Cream" as a breed, because genetically they're no different than regular Golden Retrievers. (Sort like a family with blonde kids and brunette kids). Her site is Kansas Goldens.
