No one should ever be given the play-by-play of pregnancy, labor or delivery if they don't want to hear it. It's a lot to listen to for any reason. I assume your mom may be biased, because you're single. Try hanging up on your mom when she's being hurtful. Side Note: This posted before I was ready. ARGH!

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
Temperance replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
They've already said she's going to give birth in a hospital. Her appointment videos make it clear she's getting proper care. After everything they've been through, she and Austin take prenatal care seriously. She may be induced Wednesday if she hasn't had the baby, because Gideon was 10 pounds at birth. -
It didn't seem so. No one mentioned the land hurricane. The wedding was in Washington, Iowa. I've said it before, but the wedding was the worst. The livestream video they filmed is still up, but I can't recommend it. It was awful. I had trouble sleeping. The groom's father was little old man who liked telling mean, bigoted stories with causual racism thrown in. The bride's father was really angry almost in league with Steve Anderson. Example: He told a story about the good old days when men of a church discovered some couple was living together in sin in a certain county and the men went to the couple and said "You have 48 hours to get married or we'll kick you out of the county." I've never seen a more hateful, crazy wedding and I hope I never will again.

She and Cade aren't necessarily quiverfull. They don't hang out with most of the Duggars. I don't consider JinJer quiverfull either. They seem to have put kids on hold for a little while. Actually I wonder if part of the rush to have kids is the pandemic. Normally this would be the time when she would be on tour. The pandemic means she (and he) can't tour for a while. Her career was mainly on-hold anyway. She can make Instagram videos performing the song, or songs from the album. I do think having kids will limit her career in the long run, but Carrie Underwood and other female country singers manage to balance music and motherhood. A large part of her success imo is that American Idol wanted an alum who have hits and make the show more relevant. I think the people who are supporting her will likely try to convince her to keep going. It's hard to say what Gabby's actual beliefs are, because people don't always agree with everything they hear in church or that friends think. Also people can grow and evolve. Gabby isn't as fundie as most of these people and she may change a lot. Topic: I'm sure she and Jinger are excited to be having girls around the same age.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp

I'll add Annabeth to the list. So far none of the Duggar grands have first names that start with J and that seems to be a trend. -
I wish they would tell us where Layla is. They have so many relatives who can help and I wouldn't judge them for sending her to someone else. Their trip to see Joy was around 4th of July, so they weren't sick yet. Evan works as an electrician and Carlin takes her baby to the doctor a lot. So some risk was going to be involved, and I also know they weren't taking precautions. I looked at Carlin's Instagram. She made a normal post celebrating her daughter Layla on August 8th. It was long post with videos that makes me Layla was with them. Then 7 days of silence and today day 8 they announced. She claims that they are "recovering" if so they are blessed with mild cases. If they were diagnosed within those 7 days, it is way too soon for them to be recovering. Maybe they have a mild form. Maybe they're feeling a little better and it's wishful thinking. I'm glad they're telling people to stay safe. A lot of their fans are probably like them and could use the wake-up call.

Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!

Considering it seems to be two very mild cases, I'm afraid you're right. -

Their trip to see Joy was over a month ago around the 4th of July . I don't they came down with it, but it's up to two weeks incubation period. They didn't have COVID when they were at Joy's or AR. They would have announced long before now. Evan's job as electrician and all those doctor's visits met there was going to be some risk. Beyond that, yeah they don't seem too cautious, but it's hard to say how they got it. I hope they're okay and that Layla is safe. I hope this encourages people, particularly fundies, to be more cautious and take the virus more seriously. -
@Jenniferbug Do you have power yet? I hope you're okay.

Dear God, please protect Layla. I hope Carlin lost interest in her daughter and dropped her off with Auntie Michael for a month. I assume Michael has Layla now although if Layla's been exposed Michael and Brandon are at risk. (If their daughter isn't showing signs, the responsible thing at this point would to give her to another relative to care for until they are no longer contagious.) I suppose Evan might have contracted COVID from some professional work he was doing, but these two haven't been social distancing much. The picture is posed, but Carlin isn't wearing make-up. I hope everyone recovers and Layla is safe.

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah
Temperance replied to SpaghettiTuesdays's topic in Counting On
It's not 18 years. The first special was 14 kids and pregnant again. In that special Michelle gave birth to Jackson. Jackson was born in May 2004. I looked it up and the originally airdate was September 6, 2004. It will be 16 since they first hit television, and that's longer than I thought. -

Abbie's daughter Grace doesn't share a middle name with her mom. Abbie's middle name is Grace. Grace's middle name is Annette, which is Michelle Duggar's middle name. The rest of those women used their middle name for their daughter's middle name. There a lots of names like Savannah and Eliana that kind use have Anna in them, but aren't Anna. I agree it could be long and old-fashioned. -

I considered Trinity as a possible name for Joy's baby. -
This was hands down the lousiest wedding I've ever seen. Just awful. The wedding was as crazy, bigoted, and had as much bulls**t as you could have at a wedding. The only reason to watch the wedding if you didn't is so you can see other fundies are just as nuts as Jill R. Both the Bontragers and Helferiches have single boys who might work for the Rod girls, but Kaylee and Renee might deserve better. Both fathers spoke and both love to hear themselves speak. Steve Maxwell went up in my estimation for letting Marlin Bontrager do all the speaking at Chelsy's wedding, probably in exchange for Marlin talking about his vasectomy reversal. The only fundies I spotted that I knew were the Craigs who are Jesse Maxwell's in-laws. I heard rumors the Wissmans were there. Allison and Jeremiah seem sweet together and I hope they have a happy life together where they find a saner approach to life than their parents. May they mellow in time and learn that people who aren't exactly like them aren't evil.

OH DEAR this guy is the worst speaker I've ever heard. Jill R could do better. I can't tell if he's a minister ( I think he is), but he is a racist, homophobic ass. He's a different minister than the one who thanked people for packing the church. He's telling Allison she needs to obey and trust her husband even if God tells him to do something that other people think is crazy like building an ark. Seriously Noah's wife is a good role model, because she supported Noah in building the ark. (That man turned out to be Allison's crazy father-in-law.)
