  2. What is Dean's Dirty Theme? I feel I'm failing in my obsessive fan duties.
  3. About the only scene I would criticize IS the lack of something dramatic as they come ted the final cure step. It's possible they wanted to make it more of a quiet moment. Two things they could have done: 1) a comment like he's been passed out for the last two injection and Cas saying that's a good thing. 2) some sort of involuntary shudder and then a gasp or something. Otherwise, I thought the direction was excellent. His best so far. I was legit on the edge of my seat during the stalking scene. It's not that I didn't know they'd survive, I was worried about how much more damage (physical or emotional) we'd get. I also felt like there was a clear trajectory between the premier and this episode. In the premier we saw how Crowley was feeding the Mark and keeping Dean essentially more chill. But it was starting to wear thin. Post breakup, I thought it was evident that Dean was on a downward spiral. By the time he got to the bunker, IMO, he was more demon than man. They wrote the first half dozen scripts before they filmed The first episode (which aired third). I don't think there was any chalked to the writing due to sequence. I also wanted to mention how much I appreciated the growl sound effect they used with the exorcism. Scary.
  4. Essential soundtrack for reading the Eulogy (play in a different tab): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01-2pNCZiNk&spfreload=10 "Good God, Y'All" is another fantastic entry in S5 IMO. "I don't think God is on any flatbread." It has the Awesome BroBadAss Walk down mainstreet all to the tune of "Spirit In the Sky". It's got War, with a RED MUSTANG (hee!) as it's ride, stirring up shit. Because he can. Because he likes to do that. If we needed any proof of what S5 was going to bring, this episode gave us a real taste. It has terrified townspeople with people killing people. An actual HORSEMAN OF THE APOCALYPSE. Jo, Ellen, and Rufus. *sob* Damn, but it was good seeing them fighting the good fight. The episode lagged in a few places but overall this provide a compelling story while the Sam/Dean mistrust issues played out in the background. You will be sorely missed "Good God, Y'all." -- The Song Remains the Same + The End -- Good God, Y'All 47 - The End 45 - Dark Side of the Moon 45 - Changing Channels 32 - Point of No Return 22 - Hammer of the Gods 18 - Sam, Interrupted 17 - The Real Ghostbusters 15 - The Song Remains the Same 05 - Abandon All Hope l Trapped in the box with Lucifer and Michael Fallen Idols Swap Meat The Devil You Know Sympathy for the Devil Free to Be You and Me 99 Problems I Believe the Children Are Our Future Swan Song Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid The Curious Case of Dean Winchester Two Minutes to Midnight My Bloody Valentine Good God, Y'Al And if you didn't hit that first music cue, hit this one to help you rock-out while considering your votes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cXrEPNvRO8 And in case you missed it, "Good God, Y'All" started with a great "Road So Far" montage to another great Rock Classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eedm15ZEaEg
  5. Thanks Awesome04000 for saying so many of the things I was going to say but didn't have time to post. On this: That's where MY head is at. But it may not only be Sam who is worried. Dean himself could be worried about getting killed and going back to being a demon. I got a quick rewatch this am thanks to iTunes posting so early. I really felt like this episode was very layered. And J2 were f*cking brilliant IMO. It's going to take me a couple of days to really unpack all of those scenes. There was quite a bit of live-tweeting last night. My favorite bit was Jared saying he kept messing up on slapping Dean so that he could re-do the scene, because it allowed him to slap the director around a bit. And Jensen took a selfie to which Jared replied, hey, "that's my shirt". So... essential adorable cast was adorable during the live broadcast. ETA: Also Macbeth, I'm with catrox...I have no idea where the botox theory is coming from. Exhibit B for the "Clearly not" case: http://laoih.tumblr.com/post/100677874351/deans-in-pain-i-mean-hes-in-bad-pain-10-03
  6. Kripke's involvement was the FIRST thing I noticed. A part of me wonders if he got bored with Supernatural and now wants back in because it's maybe not as boring as he thought it was? I like Eric but he's got an inner 12 year old that is both good and bad sometimes. The other thing that struck me: I'm pleasantly surprised to see J2 in that list of names. They've both apparently either never been offered Exec Producer credit or chosen not to take it but these two are so involved with this show and how it operates. This is more evident in the last two years than before I think. Personally I think they've made a great many "saves" in episodes when the writing just wasn't working. Now they've also made some choices I didn't like but I'm kinda happy to give them this role. I think they both are extremely protective of the show, the characters, and each other. If they make a mistake, they make a mistake. But these two NEVER phone it in. And that's very very tough after 10 years. So, I'm glad they apparently have a voice in some of the spin-off discussions. I suspect this article sources from the 200th party. It's possible there were some around-the-bar discussion going on and nothing more. But I really hope they do a better job with the next outing than what they did last time.
  7. Well I'm happy. I thought it was an inTENse hour of television. Story: OUTSTANDING. This was the brutal conflict so many have wanted. Dean unchained. His twisted soul spouting every horrible thing he could think of. I don't believe Dean feels these things but Demon!Dean sure knew how to twist the knife. Little features (from the writing) that were great: - Sam getting consecrated blood from a blood bank. Matched Dean's actual blood type, doesn't weaken him, and no worries about whether or not he would be successful in a confession. - The way Dean tried everything to stop Sam. ACTUALLY trying to kill Sam. I thought that would be a fake-out but they went there. - Sam crossing a moral event horizon with Lester. I don't see what he did as worse than Dean (because it was clear he thought he could stop the deal) but at the end of the day Lester lost life AND soul. Really really bad risk Sam took there. - I expected Hannah to get fridged for Cas. Glad that didn't happen. - Crowley SAVING Cas. I'm over the moon about this. I may be the only one but I love the little demon. It's wrong. I know. Even when he said he didn't care if Dean died -- I just don't care. I don't believe him. Crowley is like a secret part of Team Free Will in his own mind. I KNOW he is. Character/Acting: Sam/Jared broke my heart tonight. I thought his actions were perfectly "Sam". Detailed, careful plan. Crushing guilt over Lester. Panic over Dean's pain. And Jared IMO did a good job of expressing a duality of terror (that Dean would kill him or that he would have to kill Dean). Going thru the family pics! And I loved how he just wanted to get Dean some cholesteral and himself some booze. Dean/Jensen was f*cking SCARY. He does axe murderer very well. I don't want to meet him in a dark alley if he's pissed at me. But it was the little silent moments that really got to me. His harsh statements co-mingled with pain/fear at what was happening. Looking nauseous during treatment. And the FIRST FREAKING LOOK of "Dean". I was immediately back in that warehouse with that look on his face. And then hiding the pics as Cas came in. *sobs* And stating bluntly that he tried to kill Sam. I think Demon!Dean surprised Dean with that one. Cas/Misha and Crowley/Mark were their usual brilliant self but this was the Sam & Dean show tonight. Directing: Standing Ovation for Director Ackles. The set use, the lighting, the pacing. That was a f*cking scary cat & mouse game. This episode is going to be a series standout for me for the beauty of those scenes. Between Jensen and Jerry Wanek it looked like the MoL added another 1000 linear feet tonight. I know it's just angles and what not but it was so very well done. Really, I'm so thrilled with the quality of this episode. Do I want another 5 hours of Demon!Dean and hashing out everything that happened? Yes. But I get them wanting to get back into the "show". I don't think the Demon!Dean plot is over yet. And I certainly think the brothers need to work some shit out. I hope we get it.
  8. The Angels don't have wings yet. ETA: I don't think Heaven is really open for business either. They have a backdoor to go upstairs and they've gathered the angels there. But their wings were fried off when they fell. The backdoor is a spell. And I think their powers are limited too.
  9. Yes, priests can bless objects so he blessed both the cooler and the blood inside. So... the blood was blessed (sort of like holy water but holy blood...damn, I bet that hurt).
  10. Probably too vague to really be a spoiler but just in case someone is super-anti-hints, this is an exchange on Twitter I had with Clarissa from Screenfad. This doesn't say for sure there's a conversation. But it's obviously better. So... we'll see.

  12. HUG-US INTERRUPTUS? FEELS-US INTERRUPTUS? All I know is that it was great but we missed some cuddle-time. Haven't seen yet but I spoil myself completely all the time.
  13. Although it's starting on the East Coast, I'm on West Coast, so I'll dash in here with my comments before too much goes on. 1) What species is Dean if they "cure a demon". Is only his demonized soul cured and he retains his post-resurrection body? Is that body human or not? I'm going to go with "not". That doesn't necessarily make him a demon still. But he's not a normal meatsuit with a demon inside. His body was transformed. I think fixing his soul will de-demonize him but not make him human. 2) I think he won't be up to full powers of say, Cain, in the MoL. The previews suggest at least 5 or 6 blood transfusions before he breaks out. So he'll be affected. Plus we don't know WHAT he learned during the two months with Crowley. 3) I think he will still need to satiate the Mark. If being a demon didn't stop that completely, then it'll still be there. 4) The Mark came from Lucifer, a Fallen Archangel. Lucifer made demons by twisting their soul. But the Mark is clearly some sort of killing curse. I don't think it's sentient. I think it's like the rabbits foot. It has curse-like properties. So -- while it comes from an angelic creature, I still believe it is evil in nature. But it might have angel-like effect in terms of healing. 5) Pragmatically speaking, they can't give Dean too many powers or it takes away some of the plot. So he might see demons for their true selves. Maybe still be stronger/faster/better killer. But I don't think he'll be zapping about or flinging people to the wall. Just spitballin'
  14. I'm guessing we get a Hannah-grace powered Cas-ex-machina who stops dean from killing Sammy. Although the lights going red suggests Sam has enacted some emergency protocol. So perhaps Sam has something up his sleeve. I expect the de-demonizing process to be complete because they are taking Dean down the rabid-dog path (like when Soulless Sam nearly killed Bobby). Dean needs to be rational for future eps. I think he breaks out halfway at its situation FUBAR until Cas shows.
  15. I also loved the construct of this episode. When Dean sees that he's not saving humans by holding out, I think it feels like the final straw. It's one thing for Supernatural entities to lay the burden at his feet. Seeing The End he knew the consequences of making the wrong call. Now he sees small town America starting to look a bit like the end but without the Croatoan virus. And he sees how both good and potentially self-destructive people can be when dealing with these issues for the first time.
  16. My favorite bit is when Dean starts flying without a net as he negotiates with the gods. Pouring himself a drink, name calling, and then saying they can eat him -- literally.
  17. There weren't as many outstanding lines IMO for this episode. Obviously the quoting of The Princess Bride was excellent but I'm looking for original lines. Here's my thoughts: Reichebach Best Line: "If the wife's not dead, I don't get the soul. It's Math." Crowley explaining Demonology 101 to Dean, who has no f*cks to give. Best Non-Verbal: The choreography of the Dean/Cole fight scene. Dean just p'wned that dude. I noticed that when Cole used Kung Fu, Dean used Kung Fu. All of Dean's moves were open-handed. Like -- meh, barely a sweat. Nicely done IMO. Honorable Mention: "Like I said Loser, with a capital "L", rhymes with "You Suck." Even Demon!Dean was better than misogynistic pig Lester.

  19. http://www.screenfad.com/supernatural/supernatural-season-10-spoilers-red-carpet-jared-padalecki-jensen-ackles-jeremy-carver-adam-glass-26762 Clarissa once again gets some awesome interview content from last week's 200th party. Spoilers for tomorrow. Short red carpet interview from GMMR: http://www.givememyremote.com/remote/2014/10/20/supernatural-jensen-ackles-teases-soul-survivor-things-get-a-little-messy/
  20. There's very little here in the way of news (TVLine interview for tomorrow): http://tvline.com/2014/10/20/supernatural-season-10-spoilers-sam-castiel-cure-demon-dean/ But I don't recall this tidbit before: We all guessed Crowley was potentially helping Cas but "his former BFF's antics are causing problems for him in Hell." Is news to me. Since Dean is in the Bunker for this entire episode (as far as I can tell), then this must be something else than something he's actively doing right now. Perhaps it's gossip regarding their showdown/breakup where Crowley didn't look too powerful. Perhaps they feel like while Dean Winchester is around, he's a threat to all demons -- what with killing so many and being a wildcard. IDK. Curious to find out. Also, it occurred to me after watching the Pilot today on the airplane (for important music cue research w/ catrox), that it seems likely we will once again see: "Take your brother outside as fast as you can, don't look back. Now Dean! Go!" plus the little cherub and his "It's okay Sammy." First, how could they skip such an obvious call-back to S1E1. Second, "out of the fire!" *sigh* I find myself ridiculously gleeful at the prospect of this. No explanation except that it shows 10 years of history. Feels like family or something. Finally, watched the sneak peek. Masterful work by both J2 IMO. Can't wait.
  21. Watched both the Pilot and Reichenbach. The music has frenetic and dark elements for both but it's not the same IMO.
  22. I Say we make Catrox drink some holy water just to be sure.
  23. I listened for it as you had mentioned it but I couldn't suss one out. Can you give me an approx time stamp?
  24. We could go back to 'Hotter Than Hell'
