  1. Go figure.... Netflix just started releasing its most viewed programs, On the TV side, with 21M "hours viewed" is Dynasty - Season 4. It had been in the Top Ten for 4 weeks. Also, it made the Top 10 in TV in 44 countries on Netflix Maybe the show will go beyond the CW-typical 5-years-and-out plan. https://top10.netflix.com/tv.html
  2. December 16? Is it already filmed? I was not impressed by Chandler's acting in Beyond Salem, I thought he was particularly weak during cast interactions. I suppose if his scenes are him just typing out a manuscript and serving as narrator, that will be more tolerable I wonder if this means NBC/Peacock/Sony were pleased with the viewing data for BS.
  3. Possible. Though I think actors are independent contractors. Corday Productions probably does not have more than 100 actual employees (ie folks who receive paychecks with taxes withheld and IRS reported). Actually I would be surprised if anyone working at Corday was an actual employee. They are probably all contractors and receive checks and 1099s instead of weekly payroll checks.
  4. Jeremy Horton was SORASed himself and returned to Salem in the Stephanie Johnson era. He was a horrid brute to her, at one point shoving her under the water in a hot tub. It was all part of the story arc turning Stephanie was meek wallflower victim to heroine. Jeremy and his pal ran an airline (really!) and Stephanie worked as one of the flight attendants. The story made no sense. Mike and Robin and Robert (ro-bear) were long gone from Salem and a fading Frances Reid was called upon to keep her great grandson under control. In the end, Jeremy had no redeeming qualities and was sent to prison. He was the first Bad Seed Horton. His cousin Nick Fallon soon stepped up and filled that role. Trevor Donovan portrayed Jeremy. He was also on some CW programs and has an active social media presence, mostly showing off his body.
  5. And Carrie's first roommate was the youngest Ramirez. Julio Ramirez and Carrie Brady created quite a stir among the Bradys when they became platonic roommates. This was the Tracy Middendorf era, when DOOL didnt think Christie Clark could pull off an adult relationship (with Lawrence Alamain of all people). Christie Clark was rightfully returned to the role just as Billie and Austin came on the scene. And to be fair to the DOOL producers, I did just watch some of the early Christie-PatrickMuldoon scenes, and she looks like she is 12 years old. It often felt like they were setting up Julio to be gay, but he wasn't featured often and the character was sent to college in NYC. That enabled Billie Holliday Reed to move in as Carrie's new roomie.
  6. To be fair, the original adult Mike Horton was on the bland side. Wesley Eure had the role when Mike was SORASed into a 20-ish adult six years after he was born (1968). His love story/marriage with Margo (Suzanne Zenor) was one of the more heartbreaking stories on DOOL in the 70s. Wesley Eure's Mike (1974-1981) was not medically-inclined at all. I vaguely recall that he worked at the local mine operation. His replacement, Paul Coufos (1981-1982), showed that Mike had become an EMT. MTW was the first time we saw him as a doctor. (1985-1990), Mike Horton was SORASed beyond belief initially, then spent the better part of three decades being in his late 20s/early 30s. He was an widowed adult before Carrie Brady was even born. Wesley Eure was openly gay while he worked on the show, which caused plenty of BTS drama. He was dating Richard Chamberlin. Wesley is pretty active on social media, though most of his focus is rehashing his years on Land of the Lost, not the 7 years he was Mike Horton. He also just turned 70.
  7. As far as we know, Los Consuelos are not spending all weekend hours with Their Newborn. A few weeks ago, Mrs Consuelos remarked that Joaquin had turned them away so he could join the volunteer effort led by his teammates. Why sit in your Manhattan Mansion and worry? Rent a luxurious AirBnB for 6 months and your son can retain some family time to make the adjustment to independent living. I'm sure it was part of their plan all along. If he chose a sleepaway school, the parents would become part time residents. Michael and Lola stayed NYC local and apparently were at Chez Consuelos regularly. When you are paid $20+ million annually for the better part of a decade, you can afford to do pretty much whatever you think is best for your family.
  8. 5 shows a week = 5 hours of taping. Does it really matter if they do it in 3 or 4 days? With no audiences, makes financial sense to keep the studio dark a couple days a week. No unions to pay. The show hasn't been topical in years, so it's not like we are missing out on world events commentary. Ratings are gangbuster strong. Kelly gets long weekends in Michigan. Ryan gets to do his Idol travels. Gelman has more time for his pilates. Art gets long weekends to master his wheel spinning. Its a win-win-win-win.
  9. Some inside scoop on the transition from Kidneys to Seniors. https://triblive.com/aande/movies-tv/tv-talk-pittsburgh-native-jamie-widdoes-helps-evolve-cbs-sitcom-b-positive/ Not sure this transition will work. Fox failed with its Hijinks in the Assisted Living Center sitcom a couple years ago. Although Jane Seymour, Ben Vereen, and Linda Lavin are a step above Vicki Lawrence, David Allen Grier, and Leslie Jordan.
  10. Given the new, "serious topical" approach that the show has in Season Four, I really figured they were going to use this episode to "out" Marty. I half expected him to abruptly click with one of the male guests at the party. They could have played it as a surprise revelation to everyone, Marty included. Maybe they were just laying the groundwork for a future episode, since no match was made, or even hinted at.
  11. This works better than Amanda becoming the second homicidal maniac Carrington child. I'm looking forward the the flashback of Adam telling Dr Scientist Do-Gooder to hang on one moment while he makes some calls, only to reappear in one of her red gowns and ratty wigs. Dr Scientist Do-Gooder has no clue what is about to happen, as he takes in the amazing balcony view. He turns around, bewiildered, argues and battles loudly. And Adam kills again.
  12. Unless she takes the Anders Role and becomes a ghost to everyone during Season Five, which is likely to be its last.
  13. I think they started it to "involve the audience" since no one can attend in person. Most days I don't mind it, especially when the at-home person has some personality. I do enjoy that Kelly constantly says she doesnt understand the game (which is an act) and when the hosts get their wires crossed and one wants to intentionally pick the wrong item and the other is playing for real (which is not an act). Good TV? This is Live. Not sure there has been Good TV since the 80s.
  14. I figured Ryan's birthday gift for Kelly was to go on vacation. He's not on vacation from his radio show, although it's not clear where he is from the handful of clips/interviews for "OnAir" I have seen. He is seated in front of a big black shade, so he could be in his NYC apartment or in Georgia with his parents or in Tennessee or in Italy.
  15. Ryan has been doing "intermittent fasting" for a year. Lately they have joked about it, so it's not clear how seriously he takes it. He also hypes that he is vegan, while still eating meat, that he is a millennial, even though he is closer to 50 than 40, and that he is seriously looking for a wife, despite, er, never-mind. The google is full of links to Intermittent Fasting.
  16. True. but I was surprised how much she was featured in the "voices only" promo. This isn't a lifetime commitment. It would just be for a week or two. And we know there are enough former co-hosts out there. With Ana in the mix, they don't really need a guest co-host every day, whether its an audition slot or a legacy slot.
  17. I wonder if we will just get recycled fomer hosts for the first half of the season. They could celebrate their 25th Anniversary by bringing back former co-hosts to do a week (or two). Start off with Meredith, then Matenopolous, then Star Jones. If they each did two week stints, there are enough former co-hosts to last until January. Then they do auditions when they return to studio in 2022. If they remain remote (which I think they will), it will be easy to beam in the Former Co-hosts from wherever they are.
  18. I'm not a fan of the re-packaged reruns the show airs every late summer. But I do have to give them some credit this year. Instead of simply badly edited "article reading", they are doing a good job weaving from episode to episode. The topics often carryover, the trivia questions have tied to guests who aired on the previous rerun, and the frantic, awkward edits are fewer.
  19. “Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem” will debut on STACKTV and the Global TV App on Sept. 6, and will subsequently air on W Network. https://etcanada.com/news/811037/first-look-photos-premiere-date-revealed-for-spin-off-days-of-our-lives-beyond-salem/amp/?__twitter_impression=true&s=03 https://daytimeconfidential.com/2021/08/19/days-of-our-lives-beyond-salem-to-air-on-stacktv-and-global-tv-app-in-canada
  20. Does it really matter all that much, since everything was taped in a soundstage, with "re-imagined" DOOL sets?
  21. No insider scoop here, but it seems pretty clear that Anders' death has been faked, likely related to his role in taking down the "powerful insider trading" scheme that allegedly killed Liam's father. This was, after all, the mid-season cliffhanger (episode 13 of 22), which in a normal year, would be the Fall Finale. First they thought the Senator was the bad guy. Then it turned out to be his Chief of Staff. I imagine that once the authorities arrived, she scowled something about "this is bigger than any of you know" or "I'm just a small fish in this ocean". Anders is likely "dead" to most everyone, except maybe Blake and Liam (and the Feds). He'll stay off-screen, presumed dead, for a few episodes. His daughter will mourn while recovering. Everyone will feel lost. Fallon will think that Liam is having an affair when he cannot explain his absences (to meet/see Anders). There will be some type of drama from which a quick escape will be needed (hmm, think Return to Moldavia) and in will swoop Anders on a Corporate Jet, now that we have been told that he was a military pilot back in the day. Or maybe the actor wanted out (ha) Just a thought.....
  22. The way that she was glammed up..... could it be Penelope?
  23. The co-host on Monday was Tamron Hall. Tuesday was Ryan's LA Radio co-host Sysanie. Menunous showed up Wednesday. Since Thursday and Friday have been pre-taped shows all season long, presumably two of those three will show up again this week. I can't imagine that they would fly 8-month pregnant radio co-host to NYC for just one hour. Wouldn't be surprised if they each taped multiple shows (3 each?) and that next week has 5 pre-tapes so Ryan can start his summer vacation. That would then lead into four weeks of "Best Of" with newly created Host Chats with Kelly and Ryan. ETA OK that theory was wrong. Just checked the Sue Late Night List and Menunous gets Thursday and Friday. Katie Lowes gets all week to guest co-host during Week Two of the Olympics. Ali Wentworth gets the week of August 9. That would leave "Best Of" shows for the weeks of Aug 16/23/30, and maybe into September ?
