  1. Sadly I don't think we'll ever get away from that Stupid Island.
  2. Honestly I have no idea it really doesn't make much sense especially when you factor in the fact that 2.23 is supposed to run in nearly real time. The only thing I can figure out is that maybe the stuff on the island is a flashback to something that happened i the premiere? Or maybe the last scene is a flash forward setting up the S3 premier?
  3. There were some pictures posted, EBR took a photo of SA and his daughter while out on location (looked very much like the island set). then she posted two more photos from what looked like the Island set (one with a man who may have been David Ramsey). There's also a picture that Marc G tweeted out which was definitely from the Island set that appeared to have EBR and SA sitting together along with an unidentified woman with dark brown hair. There seems to be good indication that Oliver ends S2 back on the Island along with Felicty and Diggle...not really sure how that's going to work.
  4. That's actually a good point. I didn't think about it at the time, I just know that in video games (Halo, Gears of War) I tend to run "people" over and then back up for good measure.
  5. Not spoiler related but SA and EBR are the only two Arrow actors confirmed for Upfronts next week. There might be others that aren't confirmed but these two will be there, if EBR was getting killed off she wouldn't be at the Upfronts, just like Colin Donnel wasn't there last year.
  6. Yes, I really hope Felicity has the cure and injects Slade with it, giving Oliver the opportunity to save the day. I also wonder if perhaps Felicity will end up killing someone (a soldier) to save Laurel/Sara which will lead to the corrupt those he loves.
  7. I love that idea, Felicity Smoak : Bitch with WiFi, great title. I mentioned this in the spoiler thread but I wonder if the "corrupt those he loves" comes into play by having Felicity kill someone to save another life. I would certainly play into Diggles comment about nothing could make Felicity a bad person.
  8. Even if she knew that Diggle played a role in bringing Oliver back I can see her focusing her rage on Felicity. Sadly it's probably some stupid female jealousy issue that they're going with, she'll target all of her hate on the other female in the room. Unless there was a cut scene or something that shows "felicity's smug face" but I'm guessing it's more related to Felicity bringing Oliver back to save the company. After last week I wanted Felicity to run Isabel over with the van and I'm glad I got to see that, awesome scene, just wished Felicity minded her video game rules, you have to run them over, then do a back up and run them over again. LOL Also loved Felicity's speech to Oliver in the Clock Tower, she used her loud voice. LOL
  9. We were supposed to get Diggle training Felicity around episode 17 or 18 but that obviously got cut.
  10. Actually, I have no problem with the Young Bruce, I actually thought the parts of the trailer that showed The Wayne family murder and Gordon dealing with finding the criminals and interacting with Young Bruce to be rather interesting. It's when they seemed to add in all these other Batman characters...before they were costumed villains/heroes whatever that I started to be disappointed. I really don't care about Young Selina Kyle or Young Poison Ivy, it just seems like they;re trying to throw every Batman name into the show just for wow factor. This is what I wanted to see, Gotham before it became crazy town, the police force slowly being corrupted, yeah obviously they;d have to throw in a recognizable DC/Batman name but I would have preferred lesser known characters. Instead it's The Riddler, Peguin, Poison Ivy, Catwoman...I'm sure Joker will show up before too long. It's just the more I hear about the direction their taking the less interesting I become.
  11. I'd much prefer Felicity have a (relatively) normal childhood but since this show doesn't know the meaning of it I'm guessing that her father is going to be someone that shows up on the Island at some point because obviously everything has to be tied to the Island.
  12. I'm not sold on the Gotham trailer it bugs me that they're brining all these Batman characters in a series that is pre-Batman. Why do we need to see Teen Poison Ivy or Catwoman? What are they going to give me some lame childhood love triangle or twe luv forever between tween Bruce and Selina? Granted I know next to nothing about the series but I started losing interest when I heard all of the casting announcements (not the actors but the characters). I would have preferred the story stay far away from Batman and focus on Gordon, create new villains or focus on lesser known (and older) Batman villains. As of right now, I'm more interested in Constantine, unfortunately it sounds like that show isn't a sure thing. As for Arrow, I'm guessing DC bringing Gotham to TV is the reason why the EPs are now trying to rip off Joss Whedon, can't keep delving into TDK well when there's an actual Batman (prequel) show on the air.
  13. And this is where my massive confusion comes in. Are they desperately trying to sell a lemon so they're attributing things to the character that aren't in the script/episode to tell/convince the audience that she's awesome? Or are they simply watching a different show than I am and the way they saw the episode it was Laurel's beautiful motivation that would make us all love her whereas I saw it as another reason to love Quentin even more?
  14. I'm curious to see more of Dig's involvement with Argus and Suicide Squad.
  15. I hope so but I don't see how this story is so big that they had to push it back to S3.
  16. My big concern is that they're going to drop it or push it back again, keep dangling stuff for the fans but never really explore it. I got that in S1 they couldn't do it because she wasn't a planned character. However they promised more backstory and development for Felicity in S2 and then pushed it back, because it was "too big to include" this season with everything else going on. I guess the finale will be a good judge, they keep saying that Felicity has a big role to play in the finale...if that's true it might mean they have something important lined up for her in S3. However if her "big role" is simply telling Oliver that Star Labs has the cure or telling him how to use the device to spread the cure, I wouldn't count that as a "big role".
  17. Someone suggested that Laurel will be Arrowette http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrowette I know that they were joking but I think that would be hilarious if they went there with Laurel. LOL
  18. You know it's really hard to get a finger on these EPs lately. I don't know if this is the correct place to discuss it but I figure it applies to relationships and characters in general so why not. If you guys have a better place in mind i can move it to that thread. So things I've noticed as far as EP interviews (AK in particular). Felicity's speech in 2.13 will come back in two significant ways before the end of the season. Most people took that to mean two aspects of her speech (mom, dad, losing someone) and figured it meant a major plot point for the character. Felicity's father would show up, she'd be faced with losing Oliver again, etc. Instead the "significant" was in relationship to the emotional scene...Felicity trying to talk Oliver out of suicide by Slade. The reason Laurel gives for not telling Oliver that she knows is quite beautiful/powerful and will make Laurel fans love her even more and maybe make some non Laurel fans love her too. OK, it was a great reason, but it wasn't Laurel's, the beautiful emotional speech was given by Quentin to Laurel, Laurel takes it in and accepts the truth of her father's words but while this is Laurel's reason for not telling, it didn't originate with Laurel. Laurel will know when to tell Oliver she knows about him being the Arrow and pull him out of his darkest hour. Laurel tells Oliver not because she sees him as his worst, he's already been kidnapped by TA, she goes to him because of Blood. And her pulling him out of his darkest hour isn't because he loves her so freaking much or she's so important to him, she pulls him out of it by dangling the Slade/Blood connection. It just seems to me that the producers tell a partial truth or the tell the truth but it's a bit twisted/flowery in a way that makes the reader interpret something that isn't present in the show. Now granted that could be a failure between the writer/actor/director and the EPs vision but at the same time when AK's making these comments he's read the script, he knows what's written. So either he's twisting the information to get a reaction or he's watching a different show then I am. I really don't know but I can't help but wonder about his interviews and what the "real" truth is in what he says.
  19. I already jumped, it's off the DVR. I'll read the comments for the rest of the season but I'm officially out.
  20. I came into Agents of Shield adoring Coulson and that included his rather placid demeanor. He acts like I expected Coulson to act and I found and still find his kind of awkward earnest, straight arrow behavior endearing and charming. Not to get too off topic but I think the big problem with Coulson (from my limited viewing) is that he's the straight man, the character works best when playing off/surrounded by larger than life characters. Making him the lead/hero doesn't work while keeping the same character type because he was never meant to be "the man"
  21. Apparently they cut one of the lines of her backstory in this week's episode. I seriously hope that thing about her mother wasn't supposed to be the speech that comes back in two significant ways....because that's just total crap, IMO. Seriously her mom being a cocktail waitress in Vegas is not significant
  22. It seems that disconnect isn't just the fans, I've seen reviewers commenting on that as well. The other thing I find hysterical is that just about every review out there, talks about the Ra-Ra speech that Laurel gave and most actually point out that Laurel appealing to Oliver on an emotional level had no impact he didn't get into the fight because of her, he got back into fighting mode because she mentioned the connection between Slade/Blood and he finally realized that it's bigger than just him (FFS! some hero). It's the same thing that happened when Laurel decided not to tell Oliver she knew he wasn't the Arrow...AK made is sound like it was this great emotional decision on Laurel's part that we'd all love her for it. Odd since it was actually Quentin who had the Commissioner Gordon speech, the wonderful, enlightening, emotional reason that we'd all love...wasn't hers. I just don't get it, either there's a huge disconnect with what the EPs/Audience or they're just desperate to try and keep this character around (for whatever reason) and keep trying to force something. Maybe they figure that they can convince us to love her if they just keep lying about her/overselling her?
  23. Mother is a Vegas Cocktail Waitress Jewish Graduated MIT Genius Father left when she was the young Put herself through college (I might have inferred that one) Hates Kangaroos Anything else? Ok, I know Isabel can kick her ass but I really want Felicity to get at least one good shot in. Maybe she can run Isabel over with the van?
  24. Yeah but from a storytelling perspective it's pretty lame to recycle your plot. Hell even when Nolan did it in TDKR he as least had the decency to have it be Talia trying to honor her father/finish what Ra's started. Here we just have a totally unrelated Baddie using the same plot that didn't work last time. The only difference was the motivation.
