I thought the episode was boring - too much Lanie/Esposito and too much Castle alone - but Castle getting tossed out of the NYPD is an interesting way to shake up the series, even if it is only for an episode or two. I'm not an Alexis fan but I want to see more of Kate interacting with Martha and Alexis as a family member.

Thanks so much for the heads up! I have been dying to see Broadchurch long before Gracepoint showed up and was waiting for Netflix to stream it. Great news. Coincidentally it is arriving the day after Gracepoint ends.
-
FYI - the ratings were great for the episode: 1.927 million and 0.7 - one of their highest ratings ever. It will be interesting to see if they do better in the 8 pm time slot than in the 9 pm one.

I didn't love it...I wanted to but I didn't. Lena talking about half-siblings in this particular household outside of the privacy of their bedroom was completely out of character for the Lena that we know. Took me completely out of the scene. I did like the unstated reference to Nathan casting a racial slur at either Dana or Lena as Lena's reason behind the estrangement. I also didn't like how Stef acted for most of the episode. It's one thing to be angry at Sharon in private with respect to money issues but another completely to allow it to pour over into the family dinner. I figured that Stef would want to shield her kids from those type of discussions and thus found this whole plot line out of character for Stef. As for the Tasha/Daphne plot, didn't the foster family realize that Tasha was missing? Where was the Amber Alert and the cops? They just waited till a 2 year old baby toddled up to the door and knocked? Beyond ridiculous. I did like the throwaway line about how Daphne helped Callie get the job at the burger joint. I liked Mariana and Jesus much more in this episode than in recent ones - perhaps because there were no love interests serving as their main plots. I liked the easy banter between the family in the opening scene with the Baby's First Christmas ornaments. I also thought that Brandon breaking off the kiss and leading into the flashback was well done - as was the return to the present and the ambulance. I also liked the do gooder lady showing up with a present for the foster kid - a good reminder to everyone that Callie's status is still different from everyone else in the family. My guess is that Lena acquired an estranged brother once the whole Stephen Collins mess occurred and it became clear that he would never appear on the show again.

Very interesting interview with the creator discussing the casting process, etc... http://www.avclub.com/article/adapting-telenovela-jane-virgin-showrunner-jennie--212405

Chloe's boyfriend is a good suspect especially since that odd dinner meal where he gave Beth a gift and it was said that he was part of the family. Would also fit with not seeing the evil within. I still think the killer is more closely related to Ellie -- Joe and/or Tom and drug related.
-
I wonder if Ellie's sister is also going to factor in or if she was just a plot point to obtain the info about the Solano's truck?
-
Terrific episode! Loved the light hearted banter with Caitlin and Cisco plus Barry versus Oliver. Best episode of the season. Also loved how everyone invaded the secret Arrow Cave. I hope that they do another crossover.

Just spec here but is the "don't know the evil that lives in your own house" with Susan going to explode in Ellie's face? Perhaps Danny was going to expose something that Tom was doing -- and Ellie's husband (whose name I have forgotten) killed Danny to protect Tom? Vince looks too guilty to be the killer and the priest, while hot for Beth, doesn't do it for me either (although I am curious as to whether Tom said that he hit Danny in order to throw suspicion off of the real murderer?). The other situation that also fits is Chloe's boyfriend, who conveniently thanked Mark and Beth for bringing him into the family. Susan's story about Vince being her son was a bit too much of a bombshell for me at this point. Mark Solano has no right to say anything about Beth's visit to the priest given his own affair with Gemma.

I am so in love with this show. I can't remember having this many laugh out loud moments in a show in a very long time. Rogelio is hysterical - every comment he makes to Jane or Xo is priceless. I love the mother/daughter relationship that Jane and Xo have. I hope that we see more of Abuela in a role other than sex shamer. I agree that Sin Rostro has to be someone who was in the hotel: could be Lochlan, Rafael's father, his stepmother, Petra's mother, etc... Long list of suspects. I do wonder if Petra's mother's wheelchair is a ruse and she can really walk? Loved the evening that Jane and Rafael spent getting to know each other.

This is the first episode of Elementary that I turned off midway through. I was completely bored with the mystery,

I thought that they found $500 in Danny's bedroom, not in Tom's? I like the idea that the crossword puzzle book was used as a drug order book of sorts and functioned as a way to keep track of who was buying drugs. It connects Danny and Tom and who else? I wonder if there will be any connection to the Rosemont deaths here?

Maggie and Meredith seemed to have moved from being hostile to each other to being much more civil. When did this happen? Board Member Arizona is opening up the hospital to potentially huge lawsuits for having knowledge of Geena Davis' character's brain tumor (can't recall the name) and failing to report it. Surely they could figure out a situation where the Dr continues to teach Arizona but doesn't touch patients, particularly in the OR? They are likely setting up a dilemma where the Dr is the only one who can save April's baby -- but may be precluded from operating by Jackson because of the tumor. Really liked the final scene at Alex's house - reminiscent of early Grey's. Can't stand Jo.
-
I still think that Danny's murder goes back to the texts that Tom was scrubbing off of his phone and the $500 under the bed. Danny was clearly involved in something to be able to put together that amount of money. I don't think that Tom killed him but rather that they were both involved in the illegal activities. No clue as to who they were working with or for but I suspect it involved drugs.

I was somewhat bored but have to admit that I loved the boxing glove arrow. Best part of the episode. I was also a bit distracted by Roy's eyebrows. Can't stand Laurel but she did look good in the boxing ring. I miss Moira and Walter.
-
I thought I caught a glimpse of a look between Beth Solano and Joe Miller right before they found Tom's bike. Could they have been involved romantically? Good episode. Vince, his blood, his weird relationship with Susan, etc... is probably a red herring. Glad that the reporter left town. Left field thought: Tom is with Ellie's sister.

Finally got to watch it after the NYC preemption. It reminds me a bit of the Gilmore Girls, my all time favorite show. Love the narrator...I literally laugh out loud at the comments and the typed descriptions. Liked the introduction of Lachlan and how Petra and Rafael worked together to beat him. Loved seeing Ignacio Suarez because the show also reminds me of Ugly Betty. Glad that Jane told Michael about the sex dream and also glad that Michael finally realized that the baby he wants no part of is part of his beloved Jane. The Rogelio/Xiomara dance is terrific too.

I was a big fan of Trophy Wife which starred Bradley Whitford and Michaela Watkins as ex-spouses. It's all I could think about during the dancing scene.

Could not believe that Maura arrived at the funeral fashionably late in a white limo and wearing that huge hat. A little bit of Ali goes a long way. Can't believe that she blew up Josh and the Rabbi although the Rabbi seemed like a nice woman who should run far away from this family. Can't see Sarah and Tammy actually working out. As soon as I saw Rita with a young man, I knew that he was Josh's son. Judith Light is, as usual, terrific.

Season One: Looking Back At The Complicated Lives of the Pfeffermans
LisaM replied to kieyra's topic in Transparent [V]
Just finished the last three episodes. I'm still not really sure what to think of the entire series but I could not stop watching. I found Maura's journey to be very compelling; I could watch Maura and Divina all day. Looking forward to finding out what happened to Mark. The three children are so self-centered but I give points to Sarah for being so supportive of Maura. Would like to see more Shelley - especially how she came to be so accepting of Maura. I love Judith Light and think she is doing a tremendous job. During the flashback episode, I was most interested in seeing how Shelley learned of Maura's visit to the camp and then dealt with Maura's new life. I can understand how Ali turned out to be the way that she is but a little goes a long way. I really liked Josh and the Rabbi and couldn't believe that Ali blew that up for him. Will be very interesting to see how Colton (thank you, Jesus) blends into this Jewish family. Will he make Josh grow up? -
YES! The beer was all I could focus on during that scene! I hoped it wasn't high-quality craft beer being wasted.
-
Glad that we are finished with the focus on Jack. Too much time spent on him. Also glad that the newspaper editor finally reported Susan's rape threat to Ellie. About time. Thought that the scene with Tom skateboarding down the street with the entire police force in tow was very well done.

Loved how Felicity saved herself! I had to stop my recording because I yelled at the screen. Best episode in a very long time. The moment when Mama Smoak told Cooper that she worked 60 hour weeks to raise her genius daughter was wonderful. Loved the action shots with Arrow defeating the motion sensors. Charlotte Ross looked terrific; I've loved her since Days of our Lives and NYPD Blue. Great casting. Hated the last two minutes with Roy possibly killing Sara. I kept waiting for Sara to show up during the fight scene.
-
I think it is airing on Saturday night this week in NYC .

I actually like Sarah as she seems to be accepting of Maura and the least offensive of the three kids. My heart broke for Maura when she saw the empty chairs and then went to see Shelley. I've had enough of Gaby Hoffman's character.
