  1. I really enjoyed most of this episode - particularly the Ana confrontation with Mariana and Jesus and the Mariana/Lena discussion thereafter. I also enjoyed Callie repeatedly telling Robert, Jill and Sophia that she was getting adopted by Stef and Lena and that they are her family. Really liked hearing Callie tell Sophia that she is a spoiled brat after the girl ripped up the papers - and ripped Callie's heart apart. Is Sophia going to try to kill herself now that her new sister has disavowed her? My guess is that she is a cutter but I don't think she will try to commit suicide - not that I really care. I am also curious as to what happened between Jude and Connor on the camping trip? Now for the stuff I hated: the kiss between Callie and Brandon at the end completely screwed all of the progress which they had made over the entire season. Callie wants to be adopted by the Fosters - she has made that abundantly clear. Why TPTB felt it necessary to fall back to the Brallie crap and to throw another roadblock to Callie's happiness is beyond me. I'm sure that some will say that it is good drama but to me it is contrived and very annoying. I feel that they are doing it to pander to a certain fanbase and it pisses me off. Rita told Callie that the universe isn't against her but it really does seem as if it is. Once again her happiness is within her grasp -- and then gets cruelly pulled away. I also didn't like Lena quitting her job so abruptly without talking with Stef about it first. I think that Stef is right: this is more about Lena wanting some control over her life after Frankie's death than it is about the principle she is fighting to uphold. They have 5 kids and money issues now; it's not realistic to think that Lena would so easily give up a good paying job. So glad that Mariana's hair is back to normal.
  2. I figured that the Colonel was his bio mom which is why she was given custody of him in the will. Otherwise, giving custody of a boy to the unrelated commander of his military school struck me as completely weird. I thought that she and Philip had the baby and that she gave him up to Philip to raise. I would like to have seen how Kyle got away from the AJ and Lincoln because, at the end of the last episode, he was hiding behind a tree and they were closing in on him with weapons. I was surprised to see that Holder had left the force too. So shocking to see Linden smiling and wearing a blue scarf. I always think of Linden dressed in her ugly brown sweater. Glad that they showed Holder at Bullet's grave. It was a nice ending to the series. Linden deserves some happiness. Glad that we learned that she went to Chicago to see Jack and that he is now in college.
  3. I am both excited to see this episode -- and dreading it at the same time. I am firmly in the No Brallie camp and all of the hints via Twitter from the cast and TPTB are driving me nuts.
  4. Very pleased about the renewal!
  5. As soon as I saw that Francie from Alias was the nurse - and that she kept showing up in multiple scenes - I knew that she would be the foster parent. Nice fakeout with Jane though. I agree about Korsak and Maura having great chemistry together.
  6. I enjoyed the episode more than I thought that I would after watching the promos. Loved the Callie/Stef scene at the dining room table when they both reacted to Mariana the same way -- and the second scene in the bedroom, which I thought was perfect. Loved Stef breaking down over Frankie and finally dealing with her loss. Teri Polo, her toolbelt and her arms - wow. Still missed Lena but I thought that the Skype scene worked well. So glad that they finally had Callie go to individual therapy for the rape. it is about time. The Stef/Callie scene reinforced that Callie really needs the reassurance and guidance of a forever family - she doesn't need to forego that for a teen romance at age 16. I will be so pissed if they use the Quinns as a fake roadblock so that Brandon and Callie can have True Love. Not the show I am interested in watching. Having Ana being hidden in the house with Mike when Brandon came to visit reminded me of Mike/Dani. I hope that they are not foreshadowing a Mike/Ana relationship because that would be too weird. I did like that Mike came to Stef and alerted her of the accidental meeting with Mariana. Speaking of Mariana, I love the Callie/Mariana sisterly connection and the easy banter between the entire family at the kitchen table. I like this part of the Mariana cultural background storyline minus the dance team. Looking forward to seeing her meeting with Ana. Could care less about Hayley/Jesus except for that stupid tattoo which is going to cause an eruption from Stef and Lena. I think that they could do so much more with Jesus. He comes off as dumb as a bunch of rocks. Lou throwing herself at Brandon and being rejected was interesting. I don't feel as though we know enough about Lou to care however. I loved the Brandon/Mike scene, which I thought was terrific. Mike has really grown on me as a character. I think that Danny Nucci does a good job. I missed Jude.
  7. Completely agree with this. Just seeing part of the promo pissed me off. Enough with the Brallie. I find it hard to believe that a court would fail to take into account the wishes of a 16 year old and would separate her from a clearly stable home with her brother to place her with a newly found bio dad. If they do take her out of the Foster home to place her with the Quinns, I think it would cause the same storyline issues as with Girls United: too much of Callie in her own scenes separate from the rest of the Fosters. While I really liked Girls United (especially the first time), I thought that the show suffered from having Callie apart from the family. (In much the same way that it suffers from having Jesus off in his own storylines.)
  8. I loved this episode. Bay standing up for Natalie and Hillary was terrific. I thought that she looked gorgeous in her dress and in her matching tux. Loved the "outdoor prom". I also liked seeing Sharee intermingling with the deaf kids after the rough beginning that both groups had when the hearing kids started at Carlton. Loved the co-parenting scenes with Daphne which brought back the switch. Also loved Kathryn talking with Daphne about all the time lost with her bio daughter due to the switch. Very curious to see what is going to happen with Daphne. I can't see the show sending her off to prison - this is not OITNB - but perhaps they want to show how a deaf person deals in a hearing prison?
  9. They are the most oblivious cops ever. Both being observed...and neither aware of it. Linden is an idiot. I figured that Lincoln was the kid who was molested by the mom and then pushed out of school.
  10. I liked seeing Sharee signing to Natalie. Is this the first time we've seen Sharee signing? I also liked her going to Bay about Daphne. I loved seeing Bay confront Daphne - best part of the episode. Really liked the Travis/Melody scene as well as Travis pushing Daphne away and saying that he has a girlfriend. Bay going to the doctor all alone was sad. Cannot stand Daphne blaming Regina for Angelo's death. Does she not understand the concept of aneurysm and burst? Yes, they had a fight but married couples fight - even badly - and this particular couple had a long history of doing so. It's particularly annoying that Daphne is using Angelo's death to spiral out of control and blame Regina given that Daphne didn't want anything to do with Angelo until very recently. I used to really like Daphne but now I can't bear to see her on the screen.
  11. I wonder if they are going to work Tasha into the show because she is back next episode. I liked the new homicide tech cop. I'm assuming that Jane lost the baby in the fight with the killer.
  12. I would have liked to have seen Jesus develop an eating disorder when he first started wrestling and apparently stopped eating to make weight. I thought they were going in that direction but they never followed up with it.
  13. It almost felt as if this episode was dropped in here as a filler in order to deal with Sherri's due date. I loved seeing the Girls United people again and loved seeing Callie as the voice of reason and maturity. She can clearly be her own hero - she doesn't need Brandon or Wyatt to be her hero as the asinine promo was suggesting. However, all of the time that Callie spent at GU took her completely out of the Fosters' orbit, which is not a good thing. The two seconds of Stef hugging Callie at the end were not enough to satisfy me. I do think that the fire is a set up for Callie to go to Robert and ask him to be the home's benefactor. I did like Callie asking Kiara about her rape; she clearly needs to go to a rape support group or into some sort of therapy. I want to see a scene where Callie opens up to Stef and Lena about it and they assist her to find help. I liked Stef's talk with Jesus about moving quickly from Emma to Hayley and to having sex with her so fast. I was surprised that he was nasty to her in the subsequent conversation without her calling him on it. I just hope that they are not going down the road with Hayley being pregnant; there has been a lot of talk with Jesus about condoms which may be foreshadowing of some sort. Brandon/Lou = not enough development. Mariana/Matt = I liked how he asked Brandon first if he could date Mariana - in direct contrast to Jesus/Lexi. I think the episode really suffered from the lack of Jude and from the lack of Stef/Lena time even though their video chat was perfect. I predicted the Ana situation as soon as we saw that she was getting sober. I like the idea that the birth mom is coming back into the picture because I think it is realistic. Looking forward to seeing how that visit affects the twins. I think that Rosie really shines in this role. Brings a lot of gravitas to the show.
  14. Sophia doesn't strike me as a "spoiled, rich kid" either -- and I have known plenty. She strikes me as a sad, overachiever who has been pushed to excel by her parents and who doesn't seem to have any joy in her life. She went to Barcelona but didn't seem to enjoy it. She rides in horse competitions but doesn't seem to take real pleasure in it. I also wonder whether she has any friends - she hasn't mentioned any so far.
  15. Never good to watch The Killing when you are already depressed. :) I'm not looking forward to Linden being blamed for Skinner's death. Very curious as to why the School Superintendent was granted custody of the boy in the will instead of the uncle? How weird is that? Also curious about the marks on his back - abuse from the parents or the school?
  16. Completely agree with this. I had never seen her - or remembered seeing her - in anything before. I love all of the facial expressions - the winks, the eye rolls - and bodily gestures which show her love for the kids and for Lena. I specifically recall the dancing scene at the wedding when she hugged Callie and then winked at her. I don't know how much of those expressions are in the script or the direction and how much is Teri adding it in herself. Regardless, she has completely sold me in this role
  17. This was the first episode in a very long time that I did not enjoy. Mad Daphne does nothing but piss me off. I can't stand how she is treating Regina. Destroying property -- especially while on probation for doing another reckless act - is the height of stupidity. Did she think that using a tire iron - without gloves - to smash the window of the equipment was a brilliant thing to do to protest the project and her mother's involvement in it? It annoys me no end that she got into GU - and could apparently care less - and Travis did not. When she eventually gets caught - and she will - Senator Daddy isn't going to be able to bail her out of this legal fiasco. Talk about throwing away a bright, pre-med future. Idiot. I really like how Toby cares so much about Sharee. I enjoy Sharee's character and hope that they keep her around. Toby and the British teacher = not too keen on the pairing. I like Tank so I'm glad that they kept him around. He and Bay always worked better as friends. I do love Melody and liked seeing her with her boyfriend.
  18. I can't conceive of a scenario where Callie would willingly leave Jude. I think it would have been a much more interesting situation if Jude had not been adopted by the Fosters when the Quinns came on the scene. I could see Robert offering a home for both children at that point. I don't think that anything - her bio dad and sister, Brallie - trumps Callie's view that Jude comes first. If this ever got to court and she was forced against her will to live with Robert while Jude was at the Fosters, I'm not sure if that is a show I would want to keep watching.
  19. Oh wow....I didn't even think of that. I just can't wrap my brain around a scenario where Callie is even just considered a member of the family - not formally adopted but de facto adopted - and is still romantically involved with her de facto brother. It may not be legally incestuous but it is too creepy to contemplate. I am so hoping that the show doesn't go there again because I would have to FF all of those scenes and I really like watching Callie scenes.
  20. I would really like to see Sophia spend a day at the Foster house and interact particularly with Mariana. Would be interesting for her to see other kids in a lighter, more jovial family setting. (of course, she would have to come without her nanny.)
  21. I'm right there with you on the Brallie nausea. I really hope that they are setting the stage for an open adoption where Stef and Lena adopt Callie - and the Quinns are allowed access to her if she wishes. It would be a real contrast to the situation with Ana and the twins (although I think that may be about to change too) and would show how an open adoption coming out of the foster care system works. I cannot fathom that TPTB want the message here to be that,if you foster a teenage girl, you had better take care if you have a teenage son because they might become romantically involved.
  22. August 18 summer finale: Callie turns to her biological father when she learns Rita and the Girls United foster group home are in dire need of support, but her good deed threatens to backfire in the Summer finale of "The Fosters," airing Monday, August 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family. In an effort to help Rita with a dilemma involving Girls United, Callie calls in a favor from her wealthy biological father, Robert Quinn. But an unexpected betrayal threatens to derail the new bond she's forging with the Quinns. Meanwhile, the pressure Connor faces from his father to end his friendship with Jude intensifies and leads Lena to make a life-changing decision. The tension mounts between Brandon and Lou, despite their bandmate Mat's warnings against drama. And a visit with someone from his past makes Jesus see his relationship with Hayley in a whole new light. The episode, titled "Someone's Little Sister," was written by Joanna Johnson and directed by Norman Buckley.
  23. I had this thought as well. Moreover, a clean and sober Ana who now wanted to spend time with the twins would be a much more interesting storyline for both Jesus and Mariana than what they have going on now. She would also be seen as a bit of a threat to Stef and Lena who have never had to deal with the twins' birth mom being stable. Regarding the fire, it looks as if it takes place at Girls United so I don't think that either Sophia or Hayley is involved.
  24. I thought that the Brandon reveal was very well done. Loved how Lena was the voice of reason constantly reminding them that they had agreed not to leave the house until the 3 of them had figured it out together. Quite a contrast from the earlier co-parenting debacles both in 1A and with the hand surgery. Stef and Mike's conversation about their marriage was long overdue. Lena is right about Stef - she does "love hard". I really liked when Stef mentioned to Lena that this was probably the reason why Brandon went to Lena instead of to her - and Lena did not respond. I particularly liked how Stef asked Mike how he would feel if the underage participant here was Mariana. Thought that the show did a great job showing the double standard for a teenage boy involved with an adult female. Not interested at all in the Jesus storyline - except to see how crazy Hayley is going to turn out to be. Mariana's storyline bored me too until the girls asked her about her "real parents". I'm hoping that we are going to see the end of the Mariana dance team storyline soon together with the end of Mariana's blonde hair. The Callie/Jude/Sophia storyline was very interesting. Jill was nicer than I had anticipated - although I was suspicious as to why she asked Jude about the reasons behind Callie running away. I'm glad that Robert showed Callie the photos of her mother and that Callie took the college fund provided that there are no strings attached. I hope that they are moving towards an open adoption where Stef and Lena are her legal parents - with Robert and his family given the opportunity to continue to know and interact with Callie. Sophia's comment about not being born was either overly dramatic or a bit chilling. She's clearly very needy but doesn't seem to be lacking the love of her parents. Her mom may be overbearing but she and her dad seem to spend quality time together. I hope that he quickly dissuades her from the notion that they are going to fight for custody. Callie would never willingly leave Jude. Speaking of Jude, I really liked how Robert was trying to befriend him while reassuring him that he wasn't trying to take his father's place. (Of course, Jude doesn't see his father anymore but that is a different story.)
