  1. I liked most of this episode even though I missed Jude. The Stef/Lena scenes were groundbreaking for an 8 pm show. When was the last time that you heard lesbian bed death, faking orgasms and satisfaction discussed between two naked women spooning in bed on a family show at 8? I thought they were very well done and was pleased that nothing happened with the kids to interrupt them. Stef and Lena are the Coach and Tami Taylor of television right now. I'm sure that there will be drama and tension between them regarding the baby and Monty but I don't think that TPTB will do anything serious to mess them up. Speaking of the baby, it becomes a much harder choice given the bio relationship to the twins. I think that TPTB set up Daphne/Tasha/Foster Mom to parallel Robert/Callie/Stef and Lena (minus the attempted kidnapping, of course). Glad that Robert called his attorney ASAP to deal with the cops. I love Callie but I am starting to get bored with the Quinn/Adams Foster custody battle. I wonder whether they are going to have both Daphne and Robert allow their birth children to be adopted by the respective foster parents because it is either in the child's best interests (in Tasha's case) or because it is what the child wants (Callie)? In any event, I hope they wrap it up soon. I really am not looking forward to a few episodes where Callie is living with Robert because the fallout on characters I care about will be significant. Mariana has come so far throughout the course of the series thus far. Loved how she kept her cool and saved the girl in the storage locker. I do understand her concern for her baby sister. If the moms do not adopt the baby, it will be interesting to see if there is tension between them and Mariana. I thought that this was the best episode for Jesus in a long time. I liked how he described himself and his family situation to the recruiter. I hope that he is allowed to go to boarding school and to only be seen on holidays. I also liked Brandon - particularly his pill discussion with Lou. I still don't understand the parents agreeing to the whole "I'm 16 and going on tour with no structure". I'm doubtful that the tour will occur and think that Brandon will end up at the classical music program. I don't see a romantic relationship between Callie and the foster center guy considering the age difference.
  2. I recall being sure that the wife had done it at the end of the last episode. I agree that Korsak will hire Angela to run the bar. I still think that the two of them will get together. I like Suzie - I hope that she and Maura have more scenes together.
  3. Oh yes....all I could think about was the parallel that they have drawn between Daphne/Tasha/Foster Mom and Robert/Callie/Stef and Lena. Very clear.
  4. Since they need 12 members to perform, why aren't they going after Unique to rejoin?
  5. Binge watching and just reached this episode. Strange but in the Season Five finale, Baby Aida was blonde and had much paler skin than now. That really threw me. Glad to see Haddie and Amber bonding over Steve. So glad that Amber finally told Sarah about the baby.
  6. Have been binge watching my way though Parenthood and just finished the Season 5 finale. Have to admit that I teared up at Victor's speech and then again through the entire closing "Times They Are A-Changing". Thankfully the show was renewed but this worked as a series finale. I will miss the Bravermans when the show is finally over.

    S03.E13: Canaries

Yup On topic, I forgot to mention that I am pleased that poor Quentin finally knows that Sara is dead. I was a bit surprised that he didn't react more forcefully against the idea of Laurel running around and putting herself in danger.

I liked the Oliver/Thea reveal and particularly liked Thea's reaction. Roy is growing on me too. Also liked seeing Maseo in the flashback. Cracked up at Laurel fighting at the courthouse steps but that didn't bother me. Did not like the entire Laurel/Sara flashback/hallucination plot nor the obvious propping of Laurel as hero. Ugh.
  9. I am just in love with this show. It makes me smile from start to finish. Rogelio and Xo are wonderful together, I really like Jane as the heroine with a brain and even like poor Petra. Every time that I think the show is going in one direction, it veers off with a surprise. Really high quality thus far.
  10. I liked most of last night's episode. It's too bad that TPTB can't take a page from soap operas and send Jesus upstairs to the attic never to be seen again. I like Emma and would like to see more scenes with Emma and Mariana, the smart girls. She is wasted on Jesus. I really liked the Callie/Robert scene where Callie was trying to follow Jude's advice and get along with Robert. I liked how she tried to craft a solution which would make her happy - being adopted by the Fosters and still hanging out with Robert. At least she isn't being passive and allowing the system to just dictate her life without trying to negotiate through it. I think it is clear that Robert would be ill equipped to parent a child who has been as damaged as Callie has been. He is surely well-meaning but his blind eye to what Sophia was going through doesn't bode well for him. Hopefully the end result will be almost as Callie suggested: being adopted by the Fosters but having Robert involved as well although not necessarily in a parental role. I did like seeing Callie being so affectionate with both Stef and Lena when Robert came to pick her up. That was new for her. As for Callie calling Robert when the detectives came to question her: I'm not sure if she called Robert because she thinks he is connected and can make this go away or because she wants to keep this a secret from Stef and Lena for some reason. If it is the latter, that is really stupid because they are her legal guardians. I agree with those above who said that the cops tracking down Callie through the plastic dog is ridiculous. Also - when did Callie get a credit card? I like Mat and Mariana together but I thought the "I love you" from Mat came awfully quickly. I am also a bit suspicious of how he reacted when Mariana said that she wanted to go on tour. Speaking of going on tour, I find that whole storyline to be ridiculous and very OOC for Stef, Lena and Mike to agree to let Brandon go. I do think he will end up at Idlywyld with his newly regained classical skills. I had predicted that Ana would end up asking Stef and Lena to adopt the baby. Having 15 year old Mariana engineer this - without first talking to Stef and Lena to see if they were on board - was a bit nuts but, given Mariana's damaged childhood due to Ana, not unrealistic. An out of left field thought: perhaps Callie will think that the house will be so overcrowded with a new baby that she will decide to move in with Robert? As for Stef/Lena: I see them as Coach and Tami Taylor so I don't think that TPTB are going for a cheating situation. We've seen Stef be so preoccupied with Mike's life that she is not listening to Lena so I could easily see Monty being a sympathetic ear for Lena. They have carefully not divulged Monty's sexuality so we don't yet know if she would even be interested in Lena. Regardless, I think that Stef will be jealous of Lena and Monty's emotional closeness - but not for any other reason. Jude/Connor: wonderfully done. Looking forward to seeing where they go with this.
  11. Eeksquire: We did see Jenna and Kelly and their son, Garrett. I think that they were shown as good parents.
  12. My guess is that the Lena and Monty scene is not leading to Lena cheating -- but to Monty listening to Lena and giving her someone to talk to since Stef seems to be too preoccupied with Mike and his issues to listen to Lena's comments about her day, etc... Stef, of course, will be jealous of their friendship and closeness.
  13. Since when are Maggie and Meredith such good buddies that Meredith called her at night from bed? I thought that they were initially enemies and now grudgingly accept each other?
  14. I like the idea that others have to step up since Oliver is gone. However, having inexperienced Laurel in the field while super trained Diggle sits in the Batcave is beyond stupid. Just blows the whole storyline to hell. I did like the twist with the DJ working for Ra.
  15. Cracked up at Teenage Jane writing the apology letters for Xo. Also cracked up at Xo speaking Spanish and Rafael responding in kind. I also love the nun who runs the school and distributed the Jane coins. I could see Lachlan as Sin Rostro. He seems smart enough to be a drug kingpin. I have always thought that Rose was Sin Rostro. This episode she once again tried to push suspicion onto her husband. Really love the Rogelio and Xo courtship with the talk about touching pelvises.
  16. Just spec but I suspect that is the route that the show is going to take. It will be a direct contrast to the situation with Ana. I didn't find anything to dislike and quite a bit to like. Particularly liked the growth shown with Brandon's 3 parents sitting down to discuss the tour issue - as opposed to Episode 2 when Stef and Mike made the punishment decision without consulting Lena. I also liked how Stef sought backup to raid Kiara's foster home -- as opposed to going off on her own when Jesus was in trouble. Shows character growth. I really liked the Mariana storyline - and loved her talk with Lena. Shades of Lena/Jude in that conversation. I also liked the potential friendship between Smart Girls Emma and Mariana. Very glad that the show is shedding light on the foster care system - sorely needed. Loved Stef putting her head on Callie's shoulder. Can't stand Jesus. I'm not sure if it is the actor or the character but he sticks out like a sore thumb.
  17. I watched the first 10 minutes and had to stop because it was awful. So sick of Sue and shrill Becky and their plotting.
  18. You are right - one of the siblings does know but I can't remember which one. It was huge - I can't believe that the tank covered it.
  19. Exactly! When he was lifting weights, I was sure that the Hayley tattoo would be visible to Brandon. I kept waiting for the reveal. I don't think that anyone else knows about it yet. Speaking of Hayley, I'm really glad that Mariana has a non-whacko/nasty friend to hang out with. She has needed a good friend since Lexi left.
  20. I have to watch again but on first watch: I really liked the growth that Mariana showed in this episode. We finally see "smart Mariana" from the Pilot reemerge when she solved the dance team issue using geometry. I also liked how she figured out the scheme to get into the next round so that she and Tia could start their own team. Loved the bedroom scene with Callie and Mariana where Callie threatened to throw her a dog biscuit to stop her rolling over. Will be very curious to see how Pregnant Ana(!!) affects Mariana and Jesus in terms of having a half-sibling. Really liked the fakeouts with Robert and Sophia. (I guess that everyone at the party was too distracted by Robert's panic attack to wonder why Sophia's hair was wet.) Also like that Jill isn't being portrayed as an evil stepmother. As a birth parent, Robert is being shown as a direct contrast to Ana. Having Suicidal Sophia evens the scales a bit IMO in terms of bio family versus potential adoptive family. Having Sophia walk into traffic -- as opposed to doing drugs or cutting in the bathroom - was a great move because it was wide out in the open. So glad that Callie told Robert and Jill about the suicide attempt instead of trying to cover it up. That whole storyline was better than I thought it would be. Liked how Callie told the judge that she would see Robert but not Sophia. Lena sure got her job back quickly. :) Really liked the Stef/Lena fight. I agree with the poster upthread who likened them to Coach and Tami Taylor. "Get your ass in this bed"... Didn't love the whole Jude/Connor/Connor's dad scene in the Office. Not sure if it was the Dad's acting but the whole scene bugged me. What parent is going to let their 16 year old son go on tour with his band? Where exactly are they going to play at that age? So over Callie and Brandon that I was thrilled that he finally made a good decision. Callie does use him as a safety blanket and runs to him when she is in turmoil. So glad that he called her out. In short, it was a strong episode and I'm really glad that The Fosters is back.
  21. When they first brought Kitty on to the show, I was sure it would spoil the chemistry and ruin my enjoyment. Very pleased that I was dead wrong. The character and the actress have grown on me and I really enjoy seeing the three investigators working together. I so hope that they do not kill her off.
  22. I'm definitely not enjoying the first two shows of this season as much as I did the previous ones. Do not like seeing Bay constantly being dumped upon and have zero interest in seeing her befriend Tess. Can't believe that TPTB are going to leave Emmett out in LA by himself for too long. I'm not educated as to the state/national laws regarding equal access for disabled students at college but doesn't the school have a responsibility to provide an interpreter for Daphne? Also surprised that Daphne didn't mention her interpreter issue to Melody. I like Tank so I hope that they give him something to do. Completely agree that the parents should have imposed the same restrictions on Daphne that the court gave to Bay. That would have been interesting.
  23. I wonder whether this is the last that we will see of Emmett for a long time? He and Bay are gold together so I can't imagine that TPTB will ship him off screen for long. I wasn't as engrossed in the show as I usually am because I don't want to see Bay getting into deeper trouble.
  24. I in the Rose as Sin Rostro camp as well. She was a master at spinning the story to get Luisa committed and has kept Rafael's father, who is no dope, in the dark as well.
