Lois is even stupider than Peter. Did she really think she could make him give up yummy regular food for that weird vegan crap? I wish the roller derby stuff were more violent. I love to see Meg unleash her repressed rage.

S10.E18: The Escape Hatch Identification

Beverly is such a despicable human being. She seems to get genuine pleasure out of torturing people. I wish some journal would do an story on her and wreck her career. It was nice to finally get some backstory on Stuart. It seemed weird that someone who graduated from a famous art school would have such sorry prospects, so I was glad to hear he did try his hand at graphic arts, even if he failed. Bernadette was right, he does look like the pet with worms. -
S10.E15: The Locomotion Reverberation

About time they got back to the guidance system. The whole mess was Sheldon's fault, he just had to "improve" it and make the general change the specs. Just like when the guys were designing that app and he had wreck everything to do it his way. And there is no way that two guys carried that engine up the stairs, it must have weighed near 1000 lbs. I loved when Penny turned off the baby moniter and Halley's crying was just as loud. As soon as she learns to talk she's gonna be screaming for Howard. -

Fucking Raj. That sums it up for me. Oh, and if the baby is baptized Catholic, Raj can't be the godfather, because godparents have to be practicing Catholics. -
S01.E09: Someone Like Me as a Member

I wonder if Janet is gaining human emotions as a result of her gradual reboot. If the hug from Jason results in her having feelings for him, it could be trouble for Tahani if she tries to out him. Eleanor had steps the whole time but couldn't use them because of the hidden button? I'm surprised she didn't go off on that. Her flashbacks intrigued me, I wonder why she was always so intent on isolating herself. -
I loved when Raj pointed out all chaps are ass-less because I was thinking the exact same thing. Amy lies to Sheldon to make him spend more time with her, like the time she was sick and got better without telling him. Surprised she didn't try to finagle another spanking out of him.

I wonder if Trevor was the one who switched the Eleanors in the first place in order to screw up Michael's first neighborhood. He clearly didn't like him. I loved the "Dress Bitch" t-shirt story. I don't care if it's morally wrong, I loved seeing that nasty woman getting her comeuppance.

S01.E05: Category 55 Emergency Doomsday Crisis

I loved that Jason came up with an accurate, if really messed up, example of utilitarianism. I wonder if that will come back up, since it mirrors the selection process for getting into the Good Place. -
Good Speculation: Non-Spoilered Thoughts About What's Really Going On
azathoth replied to Kromm's topic in The Good Place [V]
Jason said he thought they were in an alien zoo and I think he might be on to something. Michael acts more like an alien than an angel, albeit the stupid Third Rock kind. Maybe all these people had their consciousness uploaded to some orbital mainframe and everything in the Good Place is a simulation/construct. It is the sort of idea a 70's stoner tripping on shrooms would dream up. -
At first I thought the ghosts were just Weird Science things, but the female one mentioned the Darkhold, which is the Marvel Universe's book of ultimate evil. Maybe they are blending science and magic in some Lovecraftian way.

I wasn't impressed. They had plenty of jokes and great CGI effects but the story was pretty lacking. And I hated Hemsworth's character. Stupid people are not intrinsically funny. I really would have liked to know more about the villain. He was just some smart but unappreciated weirdo who with just a copy of Wiig's book and a bunch of junk he salvaged from the trash managed to build a ghost bomb capable of destroying the city?

S09.E24: The Convergence Convergence

I loved Mary and Alfred trash-talking Beverly, especially the pillar of salt - block of ice exchange. I vote for David Spade as Penny's meth-cooking brother. He can pull off the skeezy crook (but leave the Joe Dirt mullet home) and his diminutive stature would explain why Penny's dad wanted her to be a boy.- 99 replies

I liked it but not as much as Age of Ultron. My main problem was with Zemo. While I get his motivation and the dead Winter Soldiers was a nice twist, I don't see how a former Sokovian intelligence officer had the resources to pull everything off. Bombing the conference, infiltrating the UN and reactivating Bucky's programming, finding the old Hydra base in Siberia and taking it over, all by his lonesome? He said he got what he needed from the Hydra files Widow downloaded in CA:WS, but are you telling me he was able to crack encryption that every intelligence agency on Earth has no doubt been trying to beat for two years? I was hoping one of the codas would show he was being finger-puppeted by Arnim Zola (please don't tell me he's dead, it was established early on that Zola wasn't willing to die for the cause, I'm sure he downloaded himself to Hillary's private server before those missiles hit).

S09.E21: The Viewing Party Combustion
azathoth replied to shapeshifter's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
I can't help but wonder if Raj was just lying about dating two women. Emily has been portrayed as somewhat insane, and she hated Penny just because she had hooked up with Raj one time years before. Is he really going to risk her wrath? Other than that, a stupid, pointless episode. -
I've never understood why Sheldon eats out or gets takeout all the time, the California Food Workers' Oath of Cleanliness and Hygiene notwithstanding. With his germ phobia I'm surprised he doesn't cook all of his own food; hell, he'd probably build his own x-ray machine to irradiate all potential microbes.

I wish Team TMZ were still in it so Kelly could have yelled "Don't cryyyyyyyyy!" when Justin started blubbering. God, I can't believe the cheerleaders lost. I know they aren't the greatest team, but if a couple of bumbling idiots like Dandrew could make the final three, anyone can.

S08.E21: The Communication Deterioration
azathoth replied to buffynut's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
I thought the episode overall was boring, but I really didn't like the alien thing at the end. I figured it would be a nightmare and Sheldon would wake up, but no, NASA apparently sent a probe into deep space with a TV with a self-sustaining power source (I don't think even nuclear would last more than a few centuries) or one that the aliens have to figure out what voltage and frequency to apply to it. I guess a hand-crank generator would work, but these aliens didn't seem to have hands. -
Even with TV there comes a certain point where suspension of disbelief is no longer feasible, and last night they reached it. I can accept a new guy showing up who is ridiculously good-looking and can fix or build anything, but he just happens to have the SAME NAME as Phil? No way. I was the one who posited the Owl Creek Bridge scenario, but now I'm convinced Phil is in Hell, or at least Purgatory. The only other explanation is that New Guy was been stalking them for weeks, learning about them, and calling himself Phil Miller is just part of some plot to take over the tribe. If the others won't call Phil by his first name, he should only answer to Mister President.

S08.E20: The Fortification Implementation

Leonard way be whiny and insecure but I couldn't help siding with him considering some of the stupid shit Penny has done over the years. She was married to Zach for three years without realizing it and takes advice from psychics. When she said "I got a guy" to look after her money, my first reaction was they were setting up a story where she loses all her money to an embezzler. Especially if her "guy" is her psychic's cousin. -
I can't believe Carol painted on the Monet and the Van Gogh. I don't even care about art but I know you don't do that. The way God keeps fucking with Phil, I can't help but wonder if this is an Owl Creek Bridge situation and everything we've seen since the pilot is a hallucination running through Phil's head in the split second before his truck crashes into that boulder.

I liked it, but not being a VM viewer, it struck me as a cross between Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me. I wonder if Bryan Fuller will sue.

Maybe the "Real Shield" is run by David Hasselhoff. Fingerblades was just sad. She reminded me of Family Guy when the Griffins all got super-powers and Meg's was the ability to grow her fingernails an inch. Those knives look like something a middle-schooler would whip up in shop class.

I was watching this again today and noticed that Emily's bedspread and pillows were green and purple. It's a well known comic truism that heroes are depicted in primary colors, while villians wear secondary colors like green, purple and orange (Joker, Lex Luthor, Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus). I wonder if this was just an in-joke by the writers or if it really means something.

S08.E12: The Space Probe Disintegration
azathoth replied to photo fox's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
That was pretty blah. I really don't need a whole episode of Sheldon justifying his assholery. The Raj plot was just dull. What happened to his girlfriend? We're halfway through the season and we've only seen her twice. Oh, and Amy taught Sheldon how to drive but he still makes Leonard chauffer him around? Dick. The only line I really liked was Amy's about DVD commentary: "George Lucas can talk the whole time, but I say one word and I'm banished to the kitchen!"
