  1. Recently watched a YouTube real estate listing tour video that had shiplap around the LR fireplace but it was painted black - IMO, it did look elegant - ubiquitous TV/magazine reno shiplap....not so much
  2. That was the Uptown Theatre - one of the grand movie palaces in Chicago https://blockclubchicago.org/2021/03/22/developer-drops-out-of-uptown-theatre-project-but-owner-says-plan-still-on-to-rehab-historic-venue-its-got-a-bright-future/
  3. I'm sure if Kiki had piled all the wings and covered w/foil, the carry-over cooking may have succeeded...but not a singly
  4. Depend where in CT they live, it could just be a commuter train ride in How long is a train ride from New York to Connecticut? 69 miles On average the New York City to New Haven, CT train travel time is 1 h 41 min for the 69 miles (111 km) long journey, but the duration can vary if you travel on weekends and holidays.
  5. Well remember Covid is still sorta/kinda going on in the background of the show
  6. Re; Beef en Cocotte with Mushroom Sauce I don't believe Bridgett once mentioned how long you cook the beef in the oven
  7. I'd like to see RR do a show like Ina's or Molly's where she's not trying to make a whole meal in 30 minutes
  8. I pretty much agree with your viewpoint. but isn't it interesting the much-maligned Rachel Ray doesn't talk/dumb down to her audience
  9. Have to say, that was old school Shameless when Ian & Micky left the dead body from the ambulance under a viaduct - in the guise of him being a street person👍
  10. Re the DR I think Erin should have painted the ceiling black, another color in the wallpaper, or _______ I kept thinking about the ID Alidad, and what he said, paraphrasing, if you are going bold, go bold!
  11. Yes, generally they do, but the cabinets mentioned in these thread aren't good enough to donate-- but are good enough if you want one for your basement, garage, that may need some love to make it better
  12. Point granted, but since these shows--i.e., production, are having to deal with HOA/condo/building codes, inspections, etc, they could also find out if putting intact cabinets curbside is a fineable offense.
  13. Unless the cabinets are built-in where they have to be sledgehammered out, even crappy/broken down ones can be put curbside and somebody can use hinges, boxes, doors, or handles/knobs or even rebuild.
  14. Now days, they usually use Sunbrella or other high-performance fabrics for areas like that
  15. I'm quite enjoying this series Particularly like his ex and daughter get along w/Gina
  16. Ahh, but the devil is in the details, White people would be shot more because they're in the majority of the US population - where you have to also look is the percentages. White vs Black For their population size in the US, Blacks are shot at a much higher percentage https://www.statista.com/statistics/585152/people-shot-to-death-by-us-police-by-race/
  17. Beside the tile--for the most part, I really dislike her built-in DR buffets as well with just using kitchen cabinets Imo - those kind of built-ins are perfectly fine in a breakfast room, FR, but a DR area should have something more elegant/bespoke
  18. I think you're referring to the last eppy with the wall of sliders she put into the office w/the patio... where everybody can see you from the street, IMO, that was a miss Also a miss, the white she used on the exterior....way too white Agree about the pediment - she was going for modern colonial and keeping that just aged the house. I thought at the very least, bring some of the shutter black to the entry area.. I really thought she should have added a covering over the front door to protect you from the elements
  19. Remember, this was somebody who was going to 3 AA meetings daily - she was trying to stay sober Yes therapy is good, but remember the timeline...she was going through withdraw during a shut down and she didn't have that option. Honeslty, I think Brauwynn is doing the best she can coping under the extreme circumstances.
  20. Yes it is a teaching moment for tolerance and acceptance. I'm glad Jacob has supportive parents and growing up in a healthy environment. The flipside parenting, scorn, ridicule and 'treatment'?
  21. I really wish Molly would stop with the "now I'm going to stir/mix/spoon/roll/add for every action - it's like she's doing cooking on the radio Ina would say, 'stir' Molly says "now I'm going to stir"
  22. I hope it gets Season 2 - I enjoyed it
  23. Not so much today, but growing up in Chicago, it wasn't so unusual to hear reporters on radio or TV talking about X having ties to organized crime or a specific family. Some reporters like John Drummond(local CBS TV affiliate), his beat was covering Chicago organized crime - the hits to their trials
  24. Brauwynn can be a bit much, but I'm cutting her a lot of slack. She's been heavily drinking for 28 yrs, been sober for 42 days w/no excuse(pregnancy) to do so other than for herself, She's learning how to cope w/o booze, has a daughter who's emotionally fragile, and worried about her needs while trying to take care of herself as well - and be there for her. Add in meetings are being down, she may lose her nannies, can't go out, - the latter depending on your circumstances, are hard enough for anybody but esp so with somebody who has coping/stress/anxiety that they are learning how to navigate being sober. People primarily drink to escape...becoming sober and staying so is difficult in normal times, more so during Covid.
