  1. I HATE storylines about someone running for office who only wants to win the "right" way. Gurl, you are running for office in Boston. If you are afraid to throw elbows then you aren't ready for this and you need to stick to food trucking. I completely fast-forwarded through Gary's toast. I assume the finale will be Gary's funeral. So when Gary and Eddie were fighting in the men's room I saw that there was one of those cloth roll towel dispensers from the 70s. They don't still make those do they?
  2. Damn, I want to hire some of you to be my financial planner. 😃 This story was offensively stupid for all the reasons stated above but I think what I really hate is the utter disdain this show has for its characters and the demographic they represent. It's not just poverty porn it's mean, outdated poverty porn that insults our intelligence.
  3. I love Lorraine Toussaint and Vi. I really liked her story but can we please dial her hair back a little? I feel like I can barely see her face anymore. Also, what kind of car was she driving?
  4. I'm calling it now. Yasuda will be the first of this class to die. She's giving me Heather Brooks vibes.
  5. I really liked Janine's dress. I think they made her look less frumpy in this episode because the character was going to take an emotional beating. I'm a little confused about how this parent meeting came to be. Janine asked Ava for permission to move the meeting up from next week to that day. Why the urgency? Why couldn't Janine send a note home or email and confirm their meeting for next week and reiterate that Deshaun is having some behavior issues and that she'd really like to discuss. (I defer to the actual teachers on this thread if that's how anything works.) I think calling the mom to come in that day already had her resentful and I agree with those who said Janine needed to get to the point faster. I think we will get to the bottom of what's going on with Deshaun throughout the season. I like how Gregory didn't react to Janine's crying with a hug or kiss. That would've only made things worse. He took her straight to Barbara and I loved the way Barbara energy shifted when saw Janine. She went straight-up mama bear with her "What happened?!" I liked seeing Gregory and Melissa together. The scene in S1 where she and Barbara counseled Gregory on how to keep his kids focused on the lesson was one of those scenes where I fell in love with this show.
  6. Maggie is awful. She always has been. Her last speech towards Winston was just garbage. These two never should've gotten married. I found myself remembering how Linc proposed to Amelia at Maggie & Winston's wedding and that's when they broke up. I'm glad this misery is over though. How long have they been married? They got married during the pandemic, correct? Then spent most of their marriage taking care of raising Meredith's kids. Simone asking various coworkers to be her maid of honor was just sad and ridiculous. Schmidt as Chief Resident will never work for me. Never.
  7. Oh FFS. I completely forgot that. Why can't Mateo sleep at the firehouse?
  8. I think this episode is going to be my offramp. I don't like Mateo. I certainly didn't need Cousin Mateo, Cartoon Mateo, and Dream Mateo. I just fast forwarded through all that mess. You know what else I'm tired of? Everybody going to Owen with their personal problem just so he can pontificate on shit that has nothing to do with him. Why would you go to your boss to ask for $25K? That's insane. There's no way she's going to have that baby. I assume she'll get into an accident (I'm thinking car in a ditch since this show really seems to like that) and that will be the big drama.
  9. So many people were waiting for something to happen to Addison. Meanwhile,I was actually expecting the intern who got with the brick (I still haven't bothered to learn their names) to suddenly stroke out or to be found in the lounge dead. They killed off a character on Private Practice that way.
  10. This show has made me hate Owen. I especially hate his tendency to just go off half-cocked and start berating women he's romantically involved with. When he was asking Kendra if this was just a "rich girl" thing, I was reminded of when he did something similar to Amy Acker's character because he had come to an equally stupid conclusion. There's something low-key abusive about the way Owen seems to think that the women he dates need to answer to him and don't get me started on him thinking that he has a $100,000 dick. At this point I'm rooting for Owen's cancer to come back.
  11. My eyes almost rolled out of my head when Maggie and Jessica claimed they would shop their show around to other radio stations in Boston. I'm sorry but no. Once any other station found out that Jessica crapped all over one of her sponsors no radio station would touch them. I really enjoyed Gary's absence.
  12. Except nobody knows they were murdered. What happens to the families of all those people gunned down at work? Do they just all get to wonder what happened to their loved ones? There were no cops called (hard to believe), no bodies to be found, and just that one witness. Nothing about this makes sense. I can suspend a lot of disbelief but this is just ridiculous.
  13. I assume the person driving the car that hit Addison will end up in an accident and get saved by Station 19 then brought to Grey Sloan for treatment.
  14. That was exactly my reaction. "Child this isn't your business." I understood his confusion about the apartment. After all he went to look at it with Eddie so it makes sense that his reaction was "Dafuq?" But these adults let him run roughshod over them and set the tone of the conversation. It's amazing to me how they continue to treat Theo like a baby even as we're listening to his voice change. Same. That was a good scene.
  15. This show is trying to drive me crazy and it's working. Sigh. Maggie/Gary - These two are sickening. I cannot believe the show had Jessica Bruno apologize to Maggie. JESSICA BRUNO 👏🏾 DID 👏🏾 NOTHING 👏🏾 WRONG!! This was some DARVO bullshit. Then there's the nonsense of Maggie being in labor during her radio show. I've mentioned often in these threads that I spent the early part of my career in the 90s working in radio. I remember when one of my colleagues was heavily pregnant with her daughter. I promise you if she so much as winced, everyone in the office would've called 911. The Baby - This whole thing just made me appreciate PBS' Call the Midwife all the more. When the midwife handed the baby to them then packed up her stuff and left, I was yelling at the screen like "Excuse me? There's still a placenta to be dealt with! Gary needs to step out into the hallway and let Trixie, Shelagh and and Dr. Turner handle business. Rome/Regina/Sophie/etc - I agree that Sophie and Tyrell will end up together. I'm assuming that the sale of the house will mean that Sophie needs a new place to live. I haven't missed Delilah at all.
  16. I feel like the show missed an easy opportunity by not having Owen explain that he was being such a smothering, clueless dick because he was trying to make up for the fact that TK's mother couldn't be there. When he was talking to Carlos' mother I really thought we'd get a mention of Gwen. Owen works my reserve nerves but I kept hoping that this particular bit of clownery was because he was because he was trying to be both father and mother. Instead the show chose to make him a self-absorbed idiot again.
  17. I have so much affection for Margo Martindale and within mere seconds she made me hate this character so much I cheered her death. She really is a phenomenal actress. I hope this is the beginning of a trend in pop culture where conspiracy theorists are treated the way they deserve. It was really gratifying. I agree with earlier comments that this case was winnable but I feel like the show chose to punish Laura because it didn't want to send the message that shooting conspiracy theorists is good. I also agree with those who say the show had good intentions but missed the mark. Jonah is screwed. He's never going to know peace. His brother was murdered in a mass shooting and his mom is in prison because she covered for him. He will be a mess for the rest of his life. If there's a S2 of this show, Jonah would be a good story to revisit. I wondered the same thing but I don't think so. The shooting in E1 was in a high school and it sounded like Liam's death in this one was more of a Sandy Hook situation. I wish that the show had given us a few details about the shooting in this ep. Did they mention what happened to the shooter in this episode?
  18. You are absolutely not. I like Buck enough but he also works my nerves. If it's time to kill off a main character I'm fine with it being him. Then Eddie and Christopher can move away to be with Eddie's family.
  19. There are a lot of ugly sweaters in this episode. Buck's green sweater reminds me of ones I bought from the JC Penney's catalog back in the 80s and I don't even want to talk about Hen's. I'm guessing Buck will recover in record time just like Chim did from rebar through the brain and Paul did on on Lone Star.
  20. The scene where the young ones approached Picard over dinner cracked me up because years ago I saw Brent Spiner at Wizard World Chicago in 2009 or 2010 and he told a story where Stewart went off on some fans who approached him during dinner. Apparently he hates that. Spiner does a perfect impression of Stewart BTW.
  21. I'm happy to see this bonkers show back. For some reason Lone Star doesn't land for me like Original Recipe 9-1-1. Athena and May going undercover was kind of fun. Athena looked great as a wealthy woman looking for somewhere to dump her junkie daughter. Is JLH pregnant again? Between the boxy jackets and some weird blocking it feels like something is going on.
  22. Something about this show just feels off now. I feel like with the loss of Chris Noth they've just abandoned the "former CIA" part of Robyn's background. Watching Vi and Dee cooking in the kitchen without hairnets drove me crazy. When the owner told them, "Well let's get you an apron!" I said "And hairnets too, please!"
  23. How long have these two been married? I know people have all kinds of opinions about Mer's exit but at least we don't have to watch Maggie and Winston trying to be parents. I was very grateful for closed-captioning in this ep.
  24. Did the woman playing the bailiff have a single line of dialog? It's kind of nice watching bad cops face consequences. This episode made me realize just how rare that is on television.
  25. The garage sale was a fascinating idea and watching the group come up with it was an oddly fun scene. Dee Dee's comments were perfect. (Is it my imagination or is Dee Dee's New York accent becoming more prominent with each episode?) It was such a healthy thing for the group to do. I'm genuinely surprised no media picked up on it but I guess they were too busy covering Adriana's valedictorian speech. It was such a angsty, lighthearted event and then John had to hijack the whole thing to make it about his experience at the crash site. I mean, how up your own ass do you have to be to do something like that?
