  1. I tend to look at Rebecca as more of a plot device than a character for the reasons LaJefaza touched on, she isn't layered, there is really nothing for us viewers to grab onto that makes her rootable. I can't even really latch onto "well, she was wrongly convicted of killing her friend" because I'm still not 100% convinced she didn't. The show has done nothing to make me think she's innocent or guilty because she's not really a character, she's a plot device. She's the client of the week only her week is endless. I don't hate her. I can't. She's really a non-entitiy to me. I just don't think she's a priority to the writers and that's fine. She's just the client of the week and this show is more about the lawyers than the clients.
  2. I am oddly okay with the idea that they didn't know who killed Sam because it means, the show isn't about who killed Sam but about how this group of people deal with having been involved in covering up a death, which is far more interesting to me than who killed Sam. Hell, I don't really care who killed Lila. The name of the show implies it doesn't matter, whoever it is isn't going to pay for it so who cares. It's about characters and their reactions. I am greatly relieved to hear we are done with the flash forward story devise. I don't mind flash forward/backs, loved Lost despite it's flaws, but the repetition was getting on my last nerve and I was hoping we wouldn't have to constantly replay some other future event now that the bonfire is over. Though I fear we will now get endless flashbacks to the very same night. Oh, that would suck!
  3. Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure. It just felt like an odd thing for the show to mention unless it is going to be important. I suppose it could have just been a way to give him a nickname, but I still feel like it was intentional for whatever reason. Especially since he is now being shown to be rather calculating and a bit ruthless. I feel like there is a reason the show made him a wait lister rather than, say, just late to class which would have also put in on the radar or a scholarship kid if they wanted to point out that he wasn't as privileged as the others.
  4. That was an odd moment. I think it was meant to be shippy? I feel a bit icky talking that way about a child, which brings up a point. I only really see Riley as a child. The others come across as teens, which I think is why Maya and Lucas is a lot more palatable than Lucas and Riley. I just keep thinking why would a mature teenager like Lucas want to date an immature little girl like Riley? Both Lucas and Maya seem far more mature than Riley. But the show is heavily pushing Riley and Lucas so IDK. I did think that, as Riley climbed up on the back of the horse, Lucas seemed to be looking off in the direction of Maya, as if they were both acknowledging that he was just being nice to a little girl with a crush on him. That's how I see it right now, Lucas is flattered and doesn't want to hurt his friend who so obviously has a crush on him, but I don't think he sees her in that way, at least I hope he doesn't. I know the actors are only like 2 years apart, but at their ages that is a world of difference. IDK, I always get frustrated when I see obvious chemistry between two characters but the show seems dead set on pairing one of them with someone else. But then I remember these are children and feel like a dirty old lady for shipping any of them with anyone. LOL
  5. I miss the days when the models were being taught stuff. I found that way more watchable than the Real World: Top Model Edition thing they've got going now. I loved Miss J teaching them to walk, all of them, not just the predestined challenge winner of the week. I remember a few times they got actual acting instructions before being thrown into the ridiculous acting challenge of the day. Like that silly one where they were Eliza Doolittle and where taught they needed to channel some horrible thing that happened to them or something stupid like that. At least it was learning. The reason this show can't produce a model anymore (if it ever really could) is that they are just using the hamsters for "entertainment" value (in this shows case, the car wreck version of entertainment) instead of trying to make models. I imagine even your top real models had some kind of training. It's not really a natural way to be, modelling. It's actually quite unnatural, knowing what angle you photograph best at, how to stick your ass out without looking like you're sticking your ass out, etc. Like others, I also miss hearing the panel discuss the photos before judging. That was usually pretty interesting. And those silly challenges they had to do at panel, like selling ANTM perfume while wearing silly hats or walking in shoes that are really death traps. That stuff was actually funny. Now the show really is just the Real World with some photographs thrown in so it can still be called a modelling show. So sad
  6. But sleeping with one guy, while still trying to work out her own sexuality, does not make make Amy a less intriguing character. Actually it makes her moreso, to me, because sexuality isn't always as simple as flipping a switch. From what they've shown, it seems this is new to Amy. She never thought she was a lesbian before, so maybe she's not sure. Just because the actress and show runners have decided does not mean the character has caught up to that yet. I think she's still exploring who she is and what it is she likes. Liam isn't the only instance of her questioning, there was that Brazilian guy that Amy seemed to think was hot. She is still learning who she is. That's not a trope (well, maybe technically it is, though not in the derogatory way critics like to use that word these days), it's life, it's learning that you are not exactly who you thought you were and what that means. The trope isn't that a lesbian slept with a guy but that a BFF slept with their friends boyfriend to hurt them. That is the derogatory trope. The fact that Amy is a lesbian is more of an afterthought and that is oddly refreshing. But that said, I don't think that sleeping with Liam had much to do with Amy's sexuality anyway. Just because something can be labelled a trope doesn't make the story it is trying to tell invalid. It's not that Amy slept with a boy that I think makes this storyline crap. It's all the bad writing that came afterwards that makes the storyline intolerable for me. I wish they didn't think they had to go there to get the result they are getting, which is Karma being mad at Amy I guess, but it is what it is, so let's see where it goes. It's already a less tropey version of the lesbian sleeps with a guy trope so at least they've got that going for them.
  7. Question, because my memory is crap and this show isn't good enough for me to go back and rewatch, so if anyone has a better memory, I appreciate the answer. Do we know what happened to the kid Wes replaced? The one who didn't make it to class so that Waitlist got in? Because I have a totally cracked out theory that Annaliese got rid of that kid to get Wes in the class. Why? I'm still working on it. This is a Shonda Show which basically makes it a nighttime soap, so I'm not dismissing the long lost kid theory. But I have another theory that something in Wes' past makes him more susceptible to being her little puppy, and she needed that in her long con plan to get away with murdering her husband. I know it's insane, but the only good thing about this show (other than Asher, who really grew on me) is coming up with cracked out theories about what is going on. It's just way too convenient that the waitlisted kid is the one who is suddenly Annie's closest confidant. My other theory is that Wes "removed" the other kid to specifically get into Annie's class. The why on that so far is that he's her or Sam's kid because I don't know why else he would be that desperate to get into her class. I know the show has said it's some big deal but I just don't see it.
  8. I think, for whatever reason, Bonnie turned down the guy from the bar then went and hooked up with Asher, which is what I don't get. When her and random guy were making out against the wall or whatever, she looked mildly disgusted by hooking up with him so I took that as she left. But then she calls Asher for a hookup? How is that different? Because she's known Asher a bit longer? Weird. As for who killed Lila, I kind of don't care. If it's Annie, it doesn't make sense because she seemed quite surprised by the news about Lila and her husband. If it was Sam it doesn't matter because he's dead, if it was Rebecca...why? Same for any of the rest of them. Maybe Frank? It could have been a conquest gone wrong. Hey, maybe Frank will turn out to be the baby daddy. That would be a twist this show loves to do. Have Annie test the DNA expecting to see her hubbies but NOPE it's her lacky Frank.
  9. I know they keep saying Will is too tall and I get it, what with sample size issues and all, but if he had been any shorter, I don't think that jumping picture would be quite as amazing as it was. It's those long limbs that made that picture so striking to me. Will might not get runway work because of his height, but I would love to see him able to do more print work. He is quite beautiful. Adam is a good looking guy (so much better with the short hair) but I just do not see him as a model. Not any kind of model. Keith I could see doing sports type modelling. The guy is gorgeous but has more of the athletic look. I don't see Lennox as more than average, catalog at best. I love Shei's look. I even like the weird hair (sometimes) but WTF with the two tone eyebrows? Seriously? WTF? Is there anyone else? That's all I can think of now that Chantelle is (thankfully) once again gone. I was actually kind of surprised that designers liked her because I would have thought her skin would be seen as distracting from the clothes. Models are supposed to be just human hangers who highlight the clothes, but I found myself looking more at her skin (which I think is quite stunning, she's very fortunate it's so symmetrical) than the clothes. But I'm kind of happy to have been proven wrong. As for "the lie" I tend to believe Keith more than Chantelle just based on their reactions and the fact I find him less of a liar than she is (they showed her changing her hair, and the panel seemed quite certain it had happened, not "oh, I heard a Hamster say it" but more either they saw it themselves or the hair/makeup people complained to them). But I really could care less if she lied or not. She and Shei were not friends, she was well aware of that, so why would she confide in her unless it was to brag which is not cool. I think it was telling, too, that Keith was not terribly happy about being stuck with her on the go sees because everyone else paired up quickly. Not the reaction of a guy who was getting any action there.
  10. They should have thrown in a comment about how the downstairs loo was being repaired or remodelled or something, anything to explain why a home business wouldn't have a guest bathroom for clients to use. And was it a proper upstairs bathroom and Rebecca just decided to go poking around in the bedroom or did she actually have to go through the bedroom to use it? I didn't pay enough attention to that. Or, if we want to go really convoluted plot twist, Wes knew the wallpaper would match, he's been in that room, and purposely sent Rebecca to that bathroom in the hopes she would notice. Why? Because why not? This is a Shonda show. Logic has no place here. But really, Wes could have so easily said "the downstairs bathroom is being worked on but there's one upstairs you can use". I just found it the most rediculous thing this show has done to date because it's something that could so easily have been fixed.
  11. This is something that really bothers me. I feel like Moffat, in his mistaken idea that this show is about the companion and not the Doctor, has gone out of his way to show how totally unimpressed everyone now is with him, the TARDIS and all of it. Now, I get that the whole "it's bigger on the inside" thing can get a little tedious, but this trend of jaded humans not being surprised or impressed just makes them unlikeable, not cool. I get what they were going with, in their oh so heavily handed way, with the kids not wanting to see the solar flare. This whole series seems to be about where Clara really belongs. It all rings strongly of "there's no place like home". Yes, Dorothy, Oz is a magical, wonderful place, but you should be home because that's where true happiness lies. Now, if only she'd figure it out and quit the Doctor so we can get a companion who actually wants to be there. Every time Missy gets the end scene I keep thinking I accidentally switched channels. I keep trying to forget that storyline exists but they keep having to remind me. Can she and Clara run away together? Please? And with Clara, willing to let those kids die. The hell? Yes, Clara, he will take them to another planet, one that is livable for them, one they can build up and make their own. They knew each other so it's not like you were picking one kid to go live alone. Yes, they would miss their parents, but that's not a reason to kill them. That's like saying that if a child's parents die in a car crash the kid should get executed so they don't miss them. That is the least logic I've ever seen. And I'm moving closer and closer to the Hate Clara camp. I just can't with her anymore.
  12. That would actually make her seem less ridiculous because she is trusting him with some potentially dangerous information, that she was in possession of the statue that night. If they figure out that was the murder weapon at some point, she is trusting him to cover up her part in a murder. I wouldn't trust that with a guy who is known to bang female students with some regularity just because he said he'd do anything for you. Or she's got a hypnotic vagina. Still don't care about her either way. Even with the ep focusing on her I still feel nothing about her. She's just...there. Bonnie, on the other hand, is fast becoming a favorite. I find her intriguing. Why was she stalking Sam's car? What is her relationship with him? As someone pointed out, why is she so subservient to Ana? I get that she's her boss, but it feels like more than that, more personal, especially this ep, when she was getting scolded.
  13. I know, right? I usually tend to loath pre-destined couples on a show but these two are just so charming and have such great chemistry together, and quite frankly, though I don't care if they get together romantically (though I would not object at all) I LOVE their friendship. So long as the show doesn't screw that up I'm good with whatever relationship they have. Really, JC and KG are magic together. Brilliant casting. This is possibly my favorite new show this season. Funny because I only watched it because of residual Amy (Doctor Who) fondness and my pentient for liking redheads and really thought it was going to be quite terrible. But damn if this little charmer hasn't won me over. Not every show has to be the best written (though I actually think the writing is pretty damned good for a sitcom) or have the greatest cast (though I LOVE this cast, all of them so far have been golden) or have some horrible will they won't they (though, come to think of it, this show seems to be pointing towards that now), I just want to be entertained. I find Selfie (despite its horrible, horrible name) to be wildly entertaining, something I look forward to watching and utterly charming. It's been a long time since I've found a show charming. Please, please, please keep this show on! With all the crap out there surely there is room for a charming little show about some wacky but incredibly endearing misfits.
  14. Yeah, my issue is not that it is inconsistent but that it is fucking annoying. If you hate it that much Clara, don't freaking go! I hate the sense that she is doing the Doctor a favor by going on these fantastical voyages with him. She is like a spoiled brat who wants a candy bar, her parents get her the candy bar she wants, and then she complains that she wanted the bigger one. And it's not so much a Clara issue, for me, as it is that they are hell bent on a part time companion which, IMO, don't work. And this is why. It make her bitching about not being put exactly in the time and place she wants while she is looking at the cutest little TARDIS ever and a Doctor who has no clue what is going on. Really, Clara, where are your priorities? Donna would have forgotten all about getting home on time and thoroughly enjoyed ribbing the Doctor about not knowing something. That, for me, is fun. Clara bitching about not being home in time for her date is annoying. Can't wait for Clara to be over. Don't dislike the actress, quite like her really, don't dislike Clara necessarily, I think the character would work well as anything other than a Companion, just hate this part time companion stuff. Millions of people would love to be in her shoes and she just comes across so burdened and ungrateful for this impossible opportunity.
  15. I live in a quite little town and I lock my front door as soon as I walk in. The most unrealistic thing about this show yet (and this show is far from realistic) is that Cory and Topanga would not lock their front door in a freaking apartment building where anyone off the street could get through the front door (even it that does lock, you just follow in someone else who does belong in the building, like you are visiting a friend and bam psycho killer/robber/rapist is in the building and can access your front door). That really bugged. Even more than the stupid idea of writing your flaw on your forehead or Riley being able to leave class whenever she feels like it, or hijack it to deal with her personal issues every time she has an issue she wants to talk to her daddy about. All that said, I kind of love this silly little show. I have to often remind myself, it's for kids under 15 really and I think on that level it works well. I still have trouble wrapping my head around the fact that the kids in Cory's class are all supposed to be the same age. They are, right? I mean, they're in the same class, so the same grade = the same age (give or take a year). Riley looks every bit her 12 years old but Lucas looks about 15-16, Farkle I could buy as 12. Maya as a rather worldly 12. That random bully friend looked about 15-16 and tattletale girl also looked older. It's not a deal breaker for me, but it is weird. I am fine with Riley having a crush on the older boy, Lucas, but get a little icked out when it seems like Lucas likes her back, because to me he seems too old to be perving on a 12 year old girl.
  16. I know, Zima. When she started on about the soul food I knew it meant they were about to announce where the models were going, usually an overseas location, but this time, I was all "OMG this show is so low rent now that they're going "down south" as their overseas trip?" then I laughed my ass off so hard it took quite some time to register that she was going with a soul/Seoul connection. OMG Tyra, don't ever change. You're crazy girl. Not much to say about anything else. I'm just watching now because it was on and I've come this far. I wish Marjana wasn't such a hateful bitch because girl is stunning in photos but yeah, her personality has ruined it. Bye Denzel. Already forgot you but I will never be able to bleach the memory of that horrible chin wig out of my brain no matter how hard I try. What I don't get is why they made him keep wearing it in shoots. In still photography it looked even worse than in moving shots. He looked halfway decent with the little attempt at a goatee he had going. So why make him wear that thing when it felt like Tyra wanted him to stay. I would get it if they put it on Lennox, because it just seems clear Tyra hates her and wants her gone, but I felt like Denzel, along with Keith, were her chosen two. Moreso Denzel because of the ridiculous Deriana relationship that brought her beloved DRAMA!!! Oh well, still don't care who wins, who looses or who gets eaten by a crocodile. I wish Matthew had come back though. That is the only thing I am disappointed about. He is my reality TV dream crush right now.
  17. I can't buy that Carter is Lori's bio kid only because if that were true Lori would have been the very first suspect when Carter was first taken. I'm wondering if the dark hair/light hair thing is more an explanation of why she took Carter in particular and not Taylor, because Carter looked more like her. I do think there could have been a lost baby and Lori stole Carter to replace her own daughter with David. I just pray the show doesn't try to make us sympathetic to Lori by making her some kind of victim. She destroyed an entire family. She is never going to be the character I root for. Oh, that would be interesting. It would add a whole new, fucked up layer to Carter believing that was her birthday. I wonder if David would be aware of the significance of the date. But I would hope not as that would make him too evil. I'm hoping he didn't know Lori was pregnant with his child. I'm hoping she was a one night stand who had a psychotic break rather than believe that David figured she was the kidnapper all along and didn't say anything just to cover his ass. That would be irredeemable to me.
  18. My bigger problem with that scene was her talking about preserving the crime scene, which they proceeded to walk through, touching all sorts of stuff, reenacting, shoes on the murder-location-bed, etc That was the biggest WTF ever! Especially because she specifically said something about in case they need to find more evidence in it if something new comes up, and then they have Hot Gay laying on the bloodstained pillow while Wings stabs him repeatedly and with some glee with a pen while half a dozen others look on. All I could think is any prosecutor worth a damn could get any evidence discovered in that room after that dismissed without breaking a sweat. So really it was just to have the "OMG they went there!" scene where one of the students had to lay in a murder bed. Yawn!
  19. I didn't see the abortion parallel (I know, what am I blind?) but mainly because, as soon as we learned it was a baby we also learned it was the only one of it's kind and so I was thinking more that the decision was who lives, humans or this new breed, not humans or this one baby. Naturally humans would choose themselves. Though I think I would have chosen the new life form if I'd been told that's what it was, not just some random baby, but the start of a whole new life form. But then, I do tend to see life as more than humanity so there is that. I've always related more to the Doctor than the companions for that reason. We are just a tiny little part of the universe, why our lives are more important than this new life form is a very human thing to think. It was interesting that he gave the decision to Clara and the astronaut who have both been to space and Clara turns around and asks the people on Earth who pretty much think they're going to die if they let it live. This baby means nothing to them. Why on Earth would they choose to let it live? That was a cop out on Clara's part. Not wanting to make the hard choice so she pawns it off on someone else. It does remind me of Fires of Pompeii (which I will have to watch again for the billionth time :) poor me). When Donna finally realized the volcano had to happen, she willingly took the burden on. The Doctor didn't have to, didn't hint that she should, he was ready to take it on himself and Donna stepped up on her own. I do think that someone like Donna is what this Doctor needs. I think because she's older, her putting the Doctor in his place or telling him off would come off far less like a petulant child and more like an equal, which Clara and 12 DO NOT feel like. I think Moffitt probably thinks it's cute that the little girl (sorry but the way she acts and dresses matched with that adorable face make Clara seem really, really young to me) is telling off the old man but it's not. Anyway, this Doctor is lost and Clara is not the person to help him find his place. She's too busy living her life and simply putting up with him out of some sense of obligation. Like an adult child having to fit taking pair of their aging parent in with living their own life. Sadly, since the Doctor is older, we will not get an older companion. This is supposedly a children's show so there has to be something young and pretty to look at. So even when Clara finally leaves we are just going to end up with a different Clara. At least it looks like no companion next ep so I've got that to look at. (I don't actually dislike Clara, I just don't think she's a good fit for this Doctor. The dynamic just doesn't work for me).
  20. Edgar Allen Poe is one of my favorite writers so I was dubious going into this episode and, even with such low expectations, the show still managed to fall far, far below them. How the hell does their OTP make a seedy relationship between a famous writer and a whore boring? I mean, Poe and Hooker Freya were dull. Even duller than Killian and Freya and I didn't think that was possible. Skipped all the Dash and the slutty agent stuff. Not even remotely interested in that. Was surprised by Ingrid. Nicely done. It seemed refreshingly out of character for her to do something that...smart. I liked Joanna better as an opium addict. lol I think they were prostitutes or at least Victorian strippers lol. At best they were madams, living off the backs of other people's daughters, so I think I respect them more if they are whoring themselves as well. So that's what I'm going with. What I'm unsure of is why Joanna wanted to take everyone with her? Did she think Daddy was going to kill them all while she was gone? Is her ego that huge to think that she's the only one who can stop him....oh, wait, she's the bestest witch in the whole wide Asgard. Whatever. I think that's actually a huge chunk of why I don't like her. Enough with "Joanna's the greatest ever". Sorry, tangent. So, this show is slowly (or not so slowly) becoming soft core porn fanfic, right? Because there is a lot of random sex going on lately. I'm not necessarily complaining, OK, I am where Killian/Freya (in all times) is concerned because though they are both hot on their own, together they are bland and boring), just making an observation.
  21. I had the same impression jjj, that she was just trying to keep her husband from thinking she suspected him/anything was wrong. Anna looked like she did NOT want to be doing that but felt it was better than not doing it. Nice marriage they've got there. lol I still can't quite tell if Blonde partner/lawyer lady, is it Bonnie? For some reason I'm thinking Bonnie? is sleeping with the husband or just wants to sleep with the husband. He doesn't seem to have all that much reaction to her, and a lot of ass on the side, so I'm not sure he'd bother with her but she is clearly stuck on him. Of the students, so far I only like Main one (it's only because of this board that I know he's Wes), gay one (can't remember his name or the other white guys name) and I liked bitchy one until she became whiney one this ep's flashforward. Bland girl doesn't have any personality for me right now and I just don't like the jerky one. I do like the neighbor Rebecca. I would prefer it if Jock guy was her brother or something rather than a hook up because I could see her covering for her brother but not for some boyfriend who was seeing another girl. I'm sadly not paying quite enough attention to know if they've addressed her connection with the Jock. I wish the characters were better fleshed out because I like the mystery side of the show, the murder within a murder along with a general case of the week, but I don't really care for or am interested in spending time with any of the main characters and that's a big thing for me. I'll put up with a lot of crappy TV if I enjoy spending time with the characters. So right now I'm in it for the mystery rather than the characters. I hope that changes.
  22. I wish the show would find a way to add Sherilyn Fenn to the cast. That deleted scene presented the perfect way to bring Sherilyn Fenn into the show. And it would be awesome! That bathtub scene was beautifully shot, but I was so unmoved (I don't care about Joanna and knew that, being immortal (and a major star of the show) she wasn't anywhere close to dying) that I overanalyzed the shot and thought that the flow of blood was pretty unfortunate (all I could think was she clearly wasn't pregnant yet).
  23. If she's always had the ability to commit suicide, why didn't she just liberate herself and her daughters from the curse centuries ago?? That's what I was wondering. I mean, why this incarnation of the girls? After about the third time of watching them die before 30 and realizing this was how it was going to be from now on, I'd have offed myself after they died and ended the stupid cycle of making my daughters die young every freaking time! But she seriously seemed to think she could just slit her wrists and be done with it, so why wait? Stupid, stupid show. I am at work and that clip is blocked but even without seeing it I would have prefered it to Dash and Plot Contrivance...I mean, that slutty Federal Agent hooking up in a storage closet just because she laid it on real thick with the "omg I'm so easy you won't even have to do a thing, I'm getting wet just sitting here talking that's how overly sexual I am, so do me, do me now" talk. Really, I'd almost rather have seen Ava...that is, until I saw Ava Jr and wished I'd watched it On Demand like I usually do so I could FF through anything having anything to do with Killian. Really, I could do without both the brothers apparently. PS: this show is really long when I watch it in real time. It seems much shorter On Demand. lol
  24. When we first met Clara, the Victorian Clara, I was so excited to have a companion from another time. I thought that would be really interesting. Alas, it didn't play out that way. I doubt the show will ever go there with Moffat in charge since he thinks the companion is the main character and we are all children to simplistic to relate to an alien or someone old/old fashioned. I would love Psi and/or Salbra as companions. It would be interesting to see the Doctor with a companion who actually has a super power (you know, other than being the most special perfect human girl in the whole wide universe). Imagine the fun he'd have with someone who could change their appearance to anyone they touch or someone who is basically a human computer. If not, I do want to see them again, especially Psi who seemed to get a bit more backstory, what with forgetting his friends and family, I'm kind of invested in knowing who they were and if he's back with them. I really liked pretty much everything about this episode. It was about the Doctor being all Doctory rather than Clara being all special and all knowing. Capaldi was really working it as the Doctor. I loved his frantic ranting "don't speak" brainstorming at the end there. I liked the storyline. I like the idea that Karabraxos would regret wiping an entire race from existence and after all was said and done, that she would make that call to prevent it. I am fascinated by time loops so this was a great ep for me. It's fun trying to wrap my linear little human brain around the idea that things don't happen in a straight line, that he always gave her his number because she always called him because he always gave her his number. I would rather Karabraxos was recurring instead of Missy. IDK, I just don't like Missy and Kara intrigued me instantly. She reminds me of Rita Skeeter as portrayed by Miranda Richardon, like her dark haired sister. (though, her performance was the first time I could really see "children's show" in this show. She was very OTT (see again the Rita Skeeter comparison).
  25. Yes, it was actually very in character. That doesn't mean it wasn't a huge leap to make, but making that huge leap is in character so I liked it. I like when the show is actually consistent with a character. Now, if one of the other companions had done it, I'd be all "the hell?" But since Clara is all about density it makes sense for her. She was probably looking for it, practically begging for a sign that she was part of the Pink family. Now, what would be interesting is if she acted on that assumption but it turned out to be her just reading too much into something, but that is way too interesting and complex for Moffat's little kiddie show so I expect it is destiny, she is the future Mrs. Pink and this is really just a simplistic, futuristic fairytale. (Funny thing is, until I read that Moffat insists this is a show for kids I never ever thought it was. *Shrugs*) But what do I know. I thought this was a show about the Doctor and apparently I'm wrong about that too. I will continue to reluctantly watch in the hopes of getting another Blink, another The Empty Child, another Fires of Pompeii. Until the end of this ep this one was a pretty great episode. I know there was a lot to knitpick but my biggest one was why the hell did Clara grab little Doctor's leg? I mean who does that to a kid? That was pretty fucked up. Kid is scared, hears something under his bed and you freaking grab his leg? I'm going to chalk it up to Clara's desperation to have everything in her life be all deep and meaningful and pre-destined, so she only did it because she knows the Doctor had that nightmare and she has a desperate need to insert herself into every important event him his life.
