I'm so glad I'm not the only one obsessed with Kate's hair. lol IDK what it is but I'm fascinated by it. Especially, I think it was last ep, when she had that braid in it. No matter how much I looked I just couldn't figure it out. Also, she has really grown on me. They all have. I'm usually annoyed by the episode where no one gets kicked off because I'm all about thinning the herd, but I was so happy that we get another weekend of these delightful people, all of them.

S05.E18: Oh, What Hard Luck Stories They All Hand Me
Mabinogia replied to AmandaPanda's topic in Pretty Little Liars [V]
This is the single greatest thing about this show. I love that Hanna and Spencer's "fight" lasted all of half an episode and then they both apologized. So long as the show doesn't really screw with the girls' friendship, I can deal with all the crazy. I just love seeing girls/young women on TV who aren't fighting over boys and truly have each others backs. -
Damn! That girl is freaking shameless!!!! I loved how not one of the others cared at all because it's so obvious she's faking.

I was wondering about that. How old is Talia supposed to be? IDK, her instant interest in Emily comes off very odd. I know Emily is hot, but she's also a teenager, and Talia had no idea if she was gay or straight, and that checking out Ezra's ass was the stupidest way to find out. One way might have been "so, tell me about your ex?" Emily would have had to use either a name or pronouns that would give away sex. IDK, Just not feeling Talia at all. I do like Johnny though. I like anyone who can make Spencer forget about all the shit she's dealing with. I like that he's sort of a refuge for her, away from Toby's judgment, A's torment and all the fear and suspicion in her life. Plus, "this town is made of whispers" or whatever he said was brilliant. As others have said, but which can't be said enough, Caleb is the best boyfriend ever, to Hanna and her friends. His convo with Emily was adorable. His sleuthing with Spencer was awesome. I loved him moving between Hollbrook (that's the one we have now, right, not Wilden? Is there a difference? I forget which is which.) and Hanna. Adorably protective. I thought it was a good ep, but then I love any ep with Flashback Mona. And I love how competent Hanna is getting. Inspecting the book after hearing the rattling. Not letting Mike take the book. Her smack down of Hollbrook. Girl is on fire! One small detail I loved. When Spencer heard her mother coming and went to put everything back, she realized she put the file upside down and turned it right side up. IDK but I liked that tiny detail. PS: Johnny's whisper machine was really cool. You know A paid him double his commission from Ezra for that one, because it's only a matter of time before one of the Liar's sits in that seat and hears a "very special message" from A. Seriously, it's like Johnny made it for that exact purpose. -
S01.E10: Rule #3: Don't Stand in the Doorway
Mabinogia replied to ShellSeeker's topic in Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce [V]
My favorite part...Joe's daughters hair. Girl has some beautiful hair. Least favorite part...um, the storylines...like, all of them. I kind of liked Abby's talk with her daughter in the bed until Lisa did that weird smile with the arms out thing. And that is when I think I figured out why this show sucks. It doesn't feel like it's actually scripted. It feels like Curb Your Enthusiasm, in that they are given a basic plot and just wing it, only way less entertaining, funny or well acted. So any of the scene's and lines just seem...unplanned. I assume they are going for making it feel more like real life, but let's face it, if we want real life we can go out and live it. We watch TV to be entertained. IDK why I am trying so hard to watch this. Actually, I just play it in the background the next evening when I'm catching up on Previously, it's like noise. Sometimes I look up to see the amazing set decorations (kudos to the design team who are the MVPs of this show) but that's about it. And I used to LOVE Lisa E but this show is making me start to hate her. Good job show. (and yes, I will probably hate watch it again next week. It's like penance for all the bad things I do during the week. TV is my religion and this show is my 50 Hail Mary's. I have been absolved for another week by sitting through an hour of this dreck) -
I think when Kelsey was all "I have to tell Chris my story right now" she meant, shit, I'm not getting a rose this week and I haven't had a chance to tell the audience my awesome story so they will flock to my website when it's up to read all about it. That had nothing to do with letting Chris know and everything to do with her realizing she hasn't had a chance to milk it for all it's worth yet. Sure, she was hoping the sob story would get her another week, and it just might, if not that, then the collapse might earn her a sympathy rose, but being on this show was clearly all about building her brand, even more so, I feel now, than Britt. I think if Britt were trying to build a brand she wouldn't be so vocal about not showering. It's not a terrible thing, IMO, so long as she is cleaning herself and doesn't stink, but it's not something that is going to endear her to the viewers. A lot of add shit has been going down this season. Like Ashley I's total and utter delusion, Kelsey's delight at having a great story and basically disregarding the cost it came at, the worlds sluttiest virgin, again, Ashley I. Britt the stunning very well groomed being unbathed. It's all just so...off. And the most mature of the bunch sounds like Minnie Mouse. Crazy Eyes Ashley is starting to look normal.

Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce In The Media
Mabinogia replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce [V]
Wait, this show is a dramedy? I thought it was a straight up drama, and a really depressing one at that. Yikes have they missed the mark for me. -
If Britt were in contention for B'ette they would have edited out all the not showering stuff. It didn't serve any sort of storyline, like Kelsey's dead husband served a storyline, Chris walking out on the most dramatic rose ceremony ever if by ever one means this week. Even Jade falling out of the boat served the storyline of catty bitches being pissed that they don't have some kind of debilitation that would get them one on one time. Now, if Chris were turned on by the not showering (which he admits he is NOT) then yes, I could see them using it. And if Britt is not in the running to stay in the franchise, then yes, it's comic relief. But if they wanted her to be the next B'ette, there is no way they would have shown that. I'm also not sure I believe it. Britt probably says it for attention because I have a feeling every single thing Britt has ever done in her life has been for attention. She seems like the type who says things to try to shock people. Like OMG, you haven't showered in a week? But you smell so good!" then she giggles girlishly as Kardashleian decides to change her virgin schtick to a non-showering virgin widow with extreme temperature reactions in her extremities schtick.

S01.E10: Hello Raskolnikov
Mabinogia replied to Tara Ariano's topic in How To Get Away With Murder [V]
It is a bit odd, now you point it out. And I thought that yes, an adult going missing, there is a longer time before you can officially report it, I think it's shorter with kids, at least that's what Law and Order has taught me. lol And, given all that is going on, it would seem logical that a man with the financial means, in the position he was in, fight with wife, mistress murdered, etc, would run. One could say that his running makes him look guilty of Lila's murder and therefore he is a person of interest now, but DA Lady or whoever she is, sure seemed hell bent on sticking with the Rebecca is guilty story so IDK if that's their thinking. Ah, who knows. This show makes no sense. It is interesting that Analiese was pretty damn sure that Sam had come back to town that day, to go through the trouble she went to get the laptop examined. I thought Nate had lied and told her Sam stayed in New Haven? I'm probably misremembering that part. And I doubt there is a shred of trust either way between her and Nate anyway so nevermind. lol -
It's like some twisted version of Dorian Grey. The better Daphne's life gets, the worse Bay's gets. It's almost like Bay is being punished for getting the better end of the switch, the rich parents, the lack of hearing loss, a father, a brother. Now it's her turn to pay why Daphne gets everything she was born to have. Oye. Dear god I hope that's not what they are going for. But if not, what? I think I'm going to bow out for the whole "rape" storyline. I just don't have faith in the writers of this show, based on their history so far, that they will handle it responsibly.
-
Britt doesn't look dirty, and I've yet to see anyone react to any major smell emitting from her, so I'm taking it all with a grain of salt. How, exactly, does Carly know if Britt took a shower at all so far? Does she follow her everywhere? Did Britt tell her? Are the showers monitored? It could be true, but it could also just hyperbole. I don't know how the whole bathroom situation works in the house, with so many of them do they have designated bathrooms, how many share, is there a schedule? Who knows. Britt looks at least as hygienic as the rest of them so whatever. The most interesting thing about it all is Michelle's bitchy comment about it at the live show. Why would one even say that? Bring it up? Was she paid to? Or just a jealous bitch trying to take down one of the prettiest of the new crop, who has a similar-ish sex kitten look about her? Afraid Britt will take her place in the B-Nation? IDK, it's all very weird and kind of interesting in an I'll forget about it until I read this thread again kind of way.

And we all know that Ali is the queen of lies. I don't think any police officer would need to help her pass a polygraph. That was just stupid.
-
I bet Ezra was jumping up and down with joy when Aria showed him that letter. Finally, a way out of the relationship with that aging college girl. I wonder if the writers have any idea that this is how it could be perceived. LOL I love this show for the unintentional comedy. The irony is, Toby is now trying to be the one uncorrupt police officer in town and by doing so, screwing his girlfriend over just as much as all the corrupt ones. I'm telling you, this show is comedy gold.

This show officially showed it's bias towards Daphne this ep. Here we have a young woman just starting college, she's going through a lot (for Daphne). She gets a little drunk at a dorm party...no, wait, we can't let that happen to Daphne, quick lets have the girls make up so we can explain why Bay would be at the party and have her get date raped. Daphne can then remain unharmed, problem solved. I think I might be done. I can't take it anymore. Between Catherine's musical (UGH) and the perpetual shitting on of Bay, I just can't anymore.
-
I do think this is a lot of the problem. He's just so stiff and cautious he is probably afraid of being attacked in any way so he's trying to do everything right which makes him as exciting as dry paint (watching it dry is more exciting). But he comes off as an idiot and a dullard. Oh well. None of them actually care if he's exciting. They are there for screen time and princess dates. Britt basically telegraphed that she is in this to win as opposed to finding out if Chris is her true love because, if she was in this to get to know Chris she would have spent her valuable one on one time getting to know him, or telling him more about her rather than grilling him about why there seems to be a new frontrunner. It came across more as "what is Kaitlyn doing to get roses, will I get roses if I do it too?" Silly, silly girl. But every season there is one who makes this mistake on both versions of the show. So I guess the arrow fell on Britt this time. And I agree with whoever said that the contestants have started playing the game differently now that selecting the next Ette comes from the top few contenders of the current season. Half of them are playing to not win but come close enough to be the next Bachelorette. That means getting their "hook" out there, whether that be single mom looking for love, virgin looking for love, widow looking for love, etc. Out of this group I think the front runners for next Bachelorette are Kaitlyn, Britt and (god help us) Ashley I. They are, to me, the most recognizable personalities right now. The rest are kind of a blur of hair and lipstick

Ah, thanks wings707, that makes more sense.

I'm wondering if he was told to pick however many girls were left behind as who he wanted to do a one on one with and then the sisters picked from his selection. IDK I'm not bothered since I highly doubt every girl is in contention for the one on one each time anyway. There's just a few he is interested in. What I am surprised by was her getting to keep the shoes and earrings. Do they usually do that on the princess date? I can't remember anyone getting to keep stuff before. Correct me if I'm wrong, I probably am, this show doesn't tend to stick with me from one season to the next. If so, I would be sad not to have gotten that date. Of course, I'm not head over heals for Chris so I'd be happy to have a nice parting gift of overpriced shoes and earrings I could sell. lol I still can't figure out what Crazy Eyes (Ashley S?) deal is. Insane, drugged, acting. If she's acting, we will know about it soon, otherwise it was pointless. She'll only get other acting gigs if people know it was all fake. I'm guessing she is on some medication that didn't react well to all that booze they practically pour down their throats. And Ashley I is...I just can't. Is she fourteen? Because I recall virginity being a big deal back then, but once I hit college no one really cared. She is clearly using it as a carrot she is dangling in front of him, which makes her a tease in my book, since she has to have used it in the past. The trouble with that is, that hook only works once. Then what does she have to offer? An obsession with Kardashians? Ugh. She also looks bad without makeup (at least she did on the camping date. I thought she looked better in past eps, but I might have been thinking of the long raven haired girl who isn't her or Jillian. I think there is a third on in there somewhere. I see her in the group shots now and then.)
-
She's the one who's a virgin! (Did you know?) OMG what? Ashley's a virgin! Did I get up to go the bathroom or get a snack all fifty two times she mentioned it? oops. lol Jade is the last one I would have thought did any kind of porn. She seems so very average to me. It is an interesting idea he would take the other virgin to final two so there is no doubt about his fantasy suite fidelity. It would actually be a smart move on his part. I can't think of any other reason she makes it that far since she's been so far under the radar that I still don't know who she is, only that some random chick popped Ashley's bubble by saying a 20-something virgin isn't the second coming Ashley thinks it is.

I agree that it was Iain's behavior more than the fact his ice cream melted that caused him not to come back. Chetna's ice cream had melted as well, but she presented what she had and wasn't put in the bottom two. And this week whatshishames pears were shit but he was safe. I think they judge forgive mistakes more than they do on other shows. If there is creativity and spirit there they will be more forgiving. But throwing out your work and walking off, how can they possibly keep him on or bring him back after that? I love Iain but I agreed with his being voted off or whatever they call it on this show, And as much as I adore Norman and want him to be my grandpa, I agree with his being voted off this week. He's been coasting and everyone left does deserve to be there based on what they've done so far.

S01.E07: My Cousin Izzy / S01.E08: It's All In The Executions
Mabinogia replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Galavant [V]
If we don't get a second season, which seems like a distinct possibility, I would hope they would do something to wrap the story up. A special, a few webisodes, something. I'm fine with most of the endings, sure they are open ended, but they are okay, but Isabella's ending kind of freaked me out. Trapped in a Barbie Room for...until her fiancé hits puberty? *shiver* The cast seemed to enjoy themselves enough that they might be willing to come back for some kind of wrap up even if they don't get a whole season, though I would LOVE for this to be picked up by Amazon or something. I loved spending time with the characters. I don't care if the plot makes sense. I just had fun watching them have fun. -
I wish Norman could have stayed to give commentary. he was out of his league indeed, but OMG I loved listening to him talk. Glad Martha got it together after her initial fumble because I adore her. I adore them all really. The closest to a least favorite is probably Luis? IDK, I love him too. It is very refreshing to have no one to root against and everyone to root for. I loved watching Kate help Martha with her tart crust and Richard give I forget who his trusty pencil, and just how they all seem supportive of each other. It's lovely. And the filming of some of the food is beautiful. My mouth was watering at some of those golden crusts. I did notice the "mine is on tope, yours is on bottom, so and so's is in the middle" bit. I was happy to see that. They are respectful of one another's work which is so nice.

S04.E03: I Lock The Door Upon Myself
Mabinogia replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Switched At Birth [V]
Given Daphne's track record, it won't be long before she decides she doesn't want to be a doctor. She wants to be an actress. She'll run off to Hollywood to join Emmitt, who she will then steal away from Bay because, let's face it, she hasn't ruined Bay's life enough for being switched and getting the rich parents. And how exactly has Daphne's college life been all that hard? Okay, she had to get some hot guy to interpret for her so she could jump the wait list and get into the class she wanted. Some hearing kids were talking too fast for her so she had to get special notes so they would be her friend. Both of these things ended with Daphne getting exactly what she wanted with really no real effort on her part (her roommate knew the perfect guy to interpret and her deafness got her the notes early which gave her her group back). Shut up Daphne and shut up show about how hard her life is. Please. I remember early on liking the girls equally. There were even times I liked Daphne better than Bay, but the show has skewed so hard toward Daphne getting everything she wants and Bay getting constantly shit on that I hate Daphne more than pretty much any character on TV right now. Way to go show. -
lol in the last two posts we've got Whitney is boring and Chris has no sense of humor. Sounds like they are perfect for each other. LOL (I actually agree with both sentiments. Whitney does seem rather bland and Chris is just humorless. So yeah, I can see them growing old together in some field, reminiscing about that time they crashed a wedding, because by then they will probably believe that is what happened and not that it was all arranged by production, like all their other dates before they got engaged). I can't see Kaitlyn being satisfied with a life with him because she does have a sense of humor and needs a man more like Jimmy Kimmel, who is quick witted and bawdy. Many of the others just want a man, any man will do, this one has money so he'll do better than most. It drives me crazy when they talk about how they wanted to do the show because Chris (or whoevers season it is) was the bachelor. No, you wanted to do the show because you want to be on tv, go on vacation and possibly get a big diamond ring and a televised fairytale wedding with a guy who is photogenic. Chris is just the cardboard cut out that gets shoved into your fantasy. And I'm pretty sure Kaitlyn was just playing along when she said she'd be fine with Chris screwing the other girls in the fantasy suites. It fits with her humor, and she used test drive. No one seriously uses test drive in such a situation. Do they? :S

S04.E03: I Lock The Door Upon Myself
Mabinogia replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Switched At Birth [V]
My first real/corporate job I had to check off that box (long story, bored at college, loved antiques, had no money). I stared at it for ever, even thought about not checking it off. But I did, and answered the why. Got an interview, got the job, they never even asked about it. And this is a big, major company. IDK if they even looked at it. Granted, I look very sweet and innocent, so they might not have even seen that I checked it off, but it isn't really the end of the world. But I do like that, after all this "well, it won't matter in the art world like it would for a pre-med student" it did actually matter, and kept Bay from presenting her art. More and more I find myself hating Daphne's entitlement. IDK what the show is doing with her. Is she supposed to be getting away with all of this stuff because she's deaf? Is it some commentary on how society treats people who they consider disabled? Like, poor Daphne is deaf so lets not make life any harder for her, and well, Bay grew up with everything so it's okay if we shit all over her. IDK, I don't get it. She just comes off as such a self involved bitch at times. And I HATED the mud fight. Not the fight itself which was kind of adorable, but the idea that Daphne once again gets away with it. As pissed off as Bay has every right to be, a mud fight shouldn't have made everything better. Daphne shouldn't get off that easy. Ugh, this show. I really only watch now for Bay and Toby. I want them to run off to LA to hang with Emmitt and the new girl. I liked her. Though it is pretty freaking naïve to think a deaf kid with no experience is going to be accepted on a film set where everything is time pressure and yelling and QUITE ON THE SET. I'm not saying that, down the road, once he learns ways to deal, that Emmitt can't work on films, but to just show up with him and expect him to be able to keep up? No one is going to go out of their way to face him when talking, doubt any of them sign, and as proven, he can't hear the cues to keep quiet, etc. It was just a bad, bad idea. But I'm glad the show showed it and didn't act like he'd magically fit right in. He's not Daphne with her magical lip reading skills after all. It's not always easy, especially with so many people flying around yelling.
