I use buttermilk to marinate chicken. It makes the dark meat taste milder and less gamey.

Mmmm beer! Weird that so many here hate it.

I went to a cooking class this afternoon called 15 Minute French meals. While it wasn't exactly 15 minutes, in two hours we made the most amazing coq au vin and a delicious pork with red cabbage and apples with roasted potatoes. Had the chicken for lunch (awesome) and took the pork home for dinner, can't wait! One noteworthy thing I took home from the course is that a single slice of bacon can really escalate a dish from good to amazing.

I don't allow the word "cheat" into my weight loss regimen. Even though I've lost over 40 lbs, it's taken me over six months, and I'm just eating a different way than the clearly unhealthy way I was eating before. Nothing is off limits but many, many things I used to enjoy daily or weekly are now "rarely" and probably will always have to be. Weirdly most of the time I feel perfectly satisfied with my food choices and wonder what the hell I was thinking the way I used to eat!

S08.E02: The Junior Professor Solution

Have to comment on Penny's hair...wow. I honestly never saw what others seemed to see in her hotness, she seemed like any reasonably cute generic blonde to me but, again wow, that haircut really suits her. I agree with those who are really starting to think Sheldon is more annoying and obnoxious than quirky and socially inept lately and I don't like it. -
I don't remember the brand, maybe Aunt Jemima?, but frozen corn sticks. They were sort of like corn muffins in taste, but they were frozen in a long oval shape that allowed you to "bake" them in the regular pop up toaster. Slather on the butter.....OMG yum. This is something I would definitely buy today if they still made them.

No, no, it absolutely needs mustard but no onions :)

Proud lover of Vienna sausages! I always keep a couple of cans on hand.

Do they still sell "push ups", orange sherbet in a tube with a handle that allowed you to push the sherbet up the tube as you ate it? I loved those!

MMMM......German food. Can't go wrong there.

OH MY GOD (this deserves full spelling out), Pasta Roni's noodles Romanoff. The nectar of the Gods when I was a child. I can still buy Vienna beef hot dogs in my local grocery store, so they are definitely available somewhere online I'm guessing.

Not Hungarian, but this is my food. MMMM. Went to Europe for the first time about two years ago and this kind of cooking is AMAZING. Although I have to admit I have no idea what holubchi is. The rest of it...DAMN!

The Love Interests: Pale Shadows of Lilith (if that's possible)
mansonlamps replied to FormerMod-a1's topic in Frasier
Totally agree with this. Mel was so good at building up Niles and she was portrayed as though she truly believed in him. We saw that in her speech to Daphne when Daphne was giving her a massage (okay she was awful to Daphne before that.) And in the Cork Master episode when she got him to believe in himself enough to run against Frasier. Daphne never appeared to really have that spark for Niles that Mel did. -
I have been eating low carb for about 6 months and I can't think of a single low carb recipe that would include chocolate unless you incorporate it into a salad! Even then, the chocolate itself is not low carb.

Chicken tinga which is apparently normal if you live in California. Basically it's an amazingly tasty filling for tacos, enchiladas, or whatever Mexican delicacy you are making. Yum, my dog is going berserk trying to get me to give her samples.

I thought Heidi was very dismissive of Fade when he was auf'd and said "maybe we'll meet again" or something similar to her. Maybe he should have attempted to bond with her earlier when she kept trying to communicate with him in German?

I'm not sure where you are shopping, but I got my Mason jars at a hardware store.

One more idea on the sweet pizza is that maybe for some bizarre reason they sweetened the ricotta which is not uncommon, but not usually done with pizza.

Could it have had figs on it? Figs are all the rage currently and they are extremely sweet.

I never thought Three Valentines was that riveting. Not even Niles's ironing board scene. I'll show myself out now.

I honestly didn't realize this is an unpopular opinion about TV until I started reading the TV Tropes You Hate thread. I have watched TV my whole life and never lamented one time that characters didn't have to go to the bathroom on camera. I don't care that they don't have their period, shave their legs, wax their facial hair, use deodorant, announce that they're taking birth control, fart, burp, wash their floors, clean their toilets or any number of zillions of mundane parts of life that we all experience on camera. I can't imagine why we would want to take up camera time with that stuff when we can all assume it happens in the background. I do remember years ago reading an article on the Brady Bunch in which the author was mocking that the Brady's never had to go to the bathroom and I was surprised that that person thought the show needed to go there.

My hatred of green tea is so well known at work that this one older man always drank it when he sat next to me and then breathed my way so I would have to smell it. Eeew.

Which is weird to me since I was born and raised in Illinois and never heard of a loosemeat sandwich until a few years ago and have never seen one on a menu.

Looks horrible to me. I don't mind unrealistic portrayals of professions on TV, but there has to be some semblance of believability. I know it's played for laughs, but this woman clearly wouldn't have the determination and drive it takes to become a lawyer, much less a judge.
