She had dragonglass, the same stuff Sam killed one with, on her spear. She's probably been making weapons this whole time.

I want to see the entire show re-enacted by that troop of players. I suspect Arya is going to see her mother and brother killed in the next show by the players, including a re-enactment of the wolf head on Robb's corpse, which, of course, she saw in real life. It'll remind her of her roots and her rage. That play was bothering her a lot and I suspect all the talk about how she isn't ready and how Faceless Men were never lords or ladies is going there. The Iron Borne stuff is just bonkers, but that's kind of them. I did like seeing Theon have so much agency and speak so loudly. And Yara having a boat at the ready. Hodor? Really, show? Summer, too? What exactly do you have against direwolves? And how do they expect Meera to haul Bran, who is bigger than her, to the Wall by herself? I don't know what Sansa took by Littlefinger saying "half-brother"- maybe she realized she needs an army of her own or she was just reminded of how Jon is seen in Westeros, just because he is a bastard. That might be why she made him a cloak like their father's- to remind the Northerners of Ned. Jon might rally the Northern houses, even if it's just to save Rickon, but they may still look down on him. The Wildling issue probably doesn't help. Sansa is true born and has the look of a Tully. She could rally the North, Riverrun and the Vale- Lysa was a Tully, and Ned was ward of Jon Arryn, plus Robin is her cousin. Mostly, I like how much this put pieces in motion. One of my favourite episodes ever.

The whole Jonsa reunion was so lovely. Them looking at each other in wonder and then embracing. Damn it, show. What exactly was the point of bringing Osha back? What a waste. She could've been used as a way to infiltrate Ramsey camp, kind of like how Ramsay did to Theon. Or something. Instead, it was scene 10 000 of Ramsay being awful, which showed us nothing new or interesting. I don't even hate Iwan Rheon, I just hate the producers obsession with the infallibility of this character. It's lazy and feels like a villainous place holder until the White Walkers get cooking. They didn't even use his best line in the Pink Letter- "Keep them from me, and I will cut out your bastard's heart and eat it." The eyeballs was ok, heart eating is better.

I have no idea how I got "Snowden" and "Townsend" got mixed up, but I did. Yeah. Anyway, Church of England kiboshed the whole thing because Townsend was divorced. And even within my lifetime (ie well past the 50s), divorce was no small thing. I was raised Anglican and "High" Anglican is a lot closer to Catholic than Protestant. A vicar in the 50s in England, he'd just have to leave the Church. And Sidney not a vicar is just not the point.

You might be thinking of Dorne, which is absolute primogeniture, meaning the first born is heir, no matter gender. This is only sort of relevant because Rhaeger's kids are half-Dornish (their mother is Elia Martell) and they had a daughter first (Rhaenys) and then Aegon. So if the Iron Throne was Dornish- it would go Rhaeger, Rhaenys, Aegon and then Jon. There was a lot of talk by Arianne in the book about how Myrcella should be on the Iron Throne because she's older than Tommen. But Arrianne isn't on the show, so I guess it isn't a thing.

Per the succession thing- Given that the War of Five Kings is based on the War of the Roses, let's think of England. Right now- It goes Elizabeth (as regent), Charles, William, George. Before George was born, Prince Harry came after William (the heir and the spare.) And now William's second child was born, so Harry is bumped again. It's Charles (son of Queen), William (grandson of Queen), George (great-grandson), Charlotte (great-granddaughter) and Harry (grandson of Queen.) All of the Queen's kids (Andrew, Anne etc) bumped down when Charles had William. In Targaryen talk? George or Charlotte is Jon (for argument's sake), Harry is Viserys.

"4 brothers" indicates her Arya feelings. She says she has four because she has four in her heart. The actual fact, not taking into account how she was raised, how she feels towards Jon, is three full brothers and one half.

There is no way. They are all dead. All we know is that Ned didn't have ill feelings towards Rhaeger.

The thing about Rhaeger is he had visions about three dragon riders being his children. His wife could only have two children, and Lyanna had the third. So there are spiritual/faith based reasons why he would have his guards protecting Lyanna (and presumably their child.) In addition to other, affection/love based reasons, if you believe that. (Which I pretty much do.) Tywin Lannister had Rhaeger's other children killed and Robert Baratheon rejoiced in their deaths. Robert hates Targaryens. He is still trying to kill the last ones in the first book, 13/14 years (more in the show) after he "won" the war. The threat to Lyanna's child was very real. I don't think he was that dumb or that arrogant. Protecting this child was something Lyanna believed in, too and it, in many ways, defined the rest of Ned's life. Jon Snow, kind of a big deal.

I'm on board with this Umber teaming up with Osha and Rickon on the long con. Which might've been activated when they heard Roose was dead- Roose, who knows the size of a full grown direwolf (having seen Grey Wind)- Shaggy Dog could still be alive and hiding in the crypts or something (he's done it before.) Umbers are hard Stark loyalists and have no real reason to turn against them. This might be wishful thinking, but I'm kind of over Ramsey Snow torturing Starks and wards of Starks and friends of Starks. Shaggy Dog taking him out might be fun. When Ned was executed, he was executed with Ice. So the Lannisters had it. Tywin had it split into two swords, but Tyrion thought he should've had it sent back to Robb with Ned's body.

I'm thinking, in the 1950s, they would never accept a divorcee as the vicar's wife. They couldn't even get married to each other in the church if she's been married before. Princess Margaret was in love with Peter Snowden and she couldn't marry him because the Church of England wouldn't let her marry a dude who is divorced.

Amanda is the worst, so no, nothing about disliking her is bad.

Jon surviving the funeral pyre would be a good way to introduce to non-book readers the idea that Jon is a Targaryen. It calls back to Dany's pyre, which is one of the most memorable visual moments of Season 1.

I sort of enjoyed Thorne talking about how the Wildlings raped on the land they were given, when supposedly a good portion of these jerks are rapists. That's why they are banished to the Night's Watch. What a tremendously stupid and small minded bunch. The guy who plays Thorne is great, though. Always has been. Edd touching Jon's face was really lovely. And Ser Davos is also great. I don't quite know what the stuff with Melisandre means- it's established in the book that she's very old, though, so that fits. Maybe she's given up because Stannis is dead or maybe she's somehow sacrificing herself for Jon. It was spooky, whatever it was. I was very glad to see Brienne catch up with Sansa and Theon. More Sansa and Theon, please. Ramsey's scene with Myranda was perfect. I have never cared about Dorne except for Oberyn Martell- he's been dead for two books and for more than a season. I still don't care. I can't believe they keep spending time with them at all. Dany was kind of old school Dany- pretending to not understand the language until it's useful for her to do so was very Season 2 and hanging out with Dothraki is obviously very Season 1. Did the dragon just fly away? They aren't siblings. They are aunt and nephew. (If the theory is true) ETA (sorry to double correct you.)

Yeah, Beyonce is debuting a visual album thing tonight on HBO and Kim and Kanye need attention. Like, shut up you two. We're busy. -
I agree with all that that post-miscarriage scene was so beautiful. Ragnar running his hands over Lagertha's hair reminding me of his speech to their dead daughter And then Lagertha tried to tough it up and made them go away, but both Bjorn and Ragnar gave her space but stayed near. Possibly the best acted scene this show has ever done.

Hannah watching Jessa walk off with Adam until it just hurts too much to look at it was my favourite bit of acting from Lena Dunham on this show. I also, I liked Adam's play scene. His wife saying "underwears." Fun (?) fact- apparently, according to her brother, several of the neighbours called the cops when they heard Kitty screaming but he thinks the cops never showed because they thought it was a domestic dispute. What an awful case. The Law and Order version is awful, too.

I agree with everyone on the chemistry between Frank and Karen. Even with the weird love advice, I just love that scene in the diner. How he kind of flirts with the waitress and the "Do you always serve bullshit, or is it just her?" I also love Foggy with Marcie. And if Foggy interacts with Jessica Jones, that's not a bad thing. More strings beyond just Clare.

S02.E12: The Dark At The End Of The Tunnel
Pogojoco replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Daredevil [V]
I agree with everyone who said Karen and Frank had a deeper connection than Karen and Matt. You could tell Matt didn't like the fact that Karen trusted Frank and wanted to believe him. The music in the car was a nice touch. Mr. Krabs! And the fact that it's heroin makes me think the Blacksmith made all sorts of connections in Afghanistan (with the poppy fields) and built an empire with his unit as his muscle. Frank wasn't on board because of his moral compass (maybe) and Colonel thought he should've been more loyal. But I think the Castles were in the wrong place/wrong time- which explains why the Col. said something like if you had joined us, you could've been on vacation rather than in the park. Reyes screwed up which is why she wanted Frank silenced. On rewatch, I realized the tell as to why it wasn't Frank who shot up the DA's office. He's a sniper who believes "One shot. One kill." Watching the hospital scene, he is very stringent with the shots he takes. He would never spray something with bullets. He would set up somewhere and shoot Reyes in the head with one bullet if he wanted her dead. I think the blonde guy Karen recognizes in the Col.'s picture is the one who shot up the DA's office. He shoots up the heroin boat the same way. I have no idea their vantage point to spray the DA's office. I don't really know about this Black Sky stuff. Stick is a great character, though. -
It wasn't really a falling out, he just didn't want to play Charlie anymore. He said he respected Dunham's work a lot and the show, but he didn't relate to the character. So either it wasn't a "falling out" or he just got over it. I know Charlie is a sad IV drug user, but he looked fantastic. Even with a tattoo that says "Humble Life" on his chest. I'll miss Desi's ridiculousness "You recoiled from my touch."

It's just such a jerk move. It's cruel. And I don't know whether the show runners want us to cheer for them as end game, but every time he got mopey about her last season and this one, I just want to smack him. Dude, you have remarkably good abs for a vicar. I suggest you use them. Yes. Morven Christie.

This is such a rough season. I binged watched this thing on Netflix. Luke freaking out about Christopher (rightly so, I'd say) and secrets and then not saying anything to Lorelai about April is just insane to me. And then Lorelai sleeping with and eloping with Christopher, who might be rich, but is still an idiot, is such an eff you to Luke, it's painful to witness. The things that work are the bits with Richard and Emily finally realizing how right Lorelai are about Logan's terrible family. Emily laying in to Shira Huntzberger is a classic. Logan is fine and fine for Rory. As an aside, I've always loved the pictures of the potential dads April uses on her science fair project.

I know she's a toddler, but Baby Siggy's performance cracked me up. "Yay! Someone paid attention to me! I get to go outside!!! Oh, my kid uncle is right, I never wash. Now I'm sad." Aslaug is still the worst. Seriously, assign a servant to little Siggy. You don't even need to look at her. As for Lagertha's age- given that most girls get their periods between 12 and 14, I'm going to assume she married Ragnar/had Bjorn by the time she was 14 or 15. I would guess Bjorn is late teens/early 20s (none of his half-brothers are older than he was at the beginning of the series) so that'd put Lagertha early to mid 30s. Could totally still get pregnant. However, to me, the interesting part isn't that Ragnar knows about Lagertha's pregnancy. It's that he brings it up with her- he originally sought out Aslaug because the Seer told him he'd have many sons and Lagertha miscarried their baby, which apparently, to Ragnar, means she can't have anymore kids. Him bringing it up fit in with the whole "I really shouldn't have let you go, Lagertha, Goddess Divine."
