  1. Same here. I do find her funny just sprawling all over like she's the queen of luxury. I can see how the "CHAAIIISEEE" would drive people crazy, though. But the puking couple? That's just gross and childish. Why would you base a commercial off of some of the worst sounds you can hear? The Acura 2015 commercial bugs, too. Too bad, because I love that song.
  2. Cameron also kept a treadmill on set exclusively for KW. And he expected her to use it often. I'm just imagining that poor woman in those heavy ass dresses trying to walk off any nonexistent calories. Ugh. David O. Russell and his asshole antics were my first thought when this thread came up, but he's been covered. Hehe. Clooney may annoy a lot of people, but he'll always have my respect for punching that jerkass director in the face. Interesting about Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman because a few years ago, she was interviewed about her "biggest" films and she considers K vs K to be entirely Dustin's movie, not hers.
  3. What sucks is that Abbie did have interests last season. Remember her and Crane at the baseball game? It wasn't just another instance of "Crane vs. the 21st century" it was about seeing Abbie relax and have some fun. I can't imagine that woman being in this slog of a season. People keep mentioning Empire's success, but it doesn't stop there. There's Brooklyn 99 (also on Fox!), CW has Jane the Virgin (along with their first Golden Globe), and Shonda Rimes owns the whole Thursday night block. These shows aren't just popular, they're making serious money. The TV landscape is changing every year and it's still baffling to me that Goffman is either willfully ignorant to these changes, or just plain dumb.
  4. IA and I think that's why the story didn't work, besides Bevers being there. Abbi and Ilana tend to bring out the best in each other, because they're too extreme on their own. I hated Ilana dragging those poor saps into her scheme of perpetual laziness, and seeing Abbi get walked on by Trey and Bevers (although I do like Trey) wasn't that funny. Co-sign on too much Bevers. He's essentially harmless, but so damn annoying. I have a feeling that when Abbi finally boots his ass out of her apartment, he'll break down and confess that he's in love with her. Or something equally annoying.
  5. This part from Tom & Lorenzo particularly stuck out for me: And they're right. Whatever they plan on doing with her, it won't matter if there aren't any viewers. When the critics are bowing out of the reviews, your show is in the red. People are sick of this. All over I'm reading comments like "I gave up after the second episode", or "I'm really glad I didn't watch last night", and "I'm out til the season finale." I know some people are already in hate-watching territory. The writing's on the wall. What else do they need?
  6. So that was Katrina grabbing Ichabod's ass? I thought they were watching and commenting about another couple doing it. Blech.
  7. I'm noticing that there are very few episode recaps up for tonight's episode, and that's not a good sign. I know a lot of viewers skipped out on it, especially since Jane the Virgin returned tonight as well. But not even EW has a recap up, and they're usually very prompt. I think the critics are reviewing the better shows first, and doing SH later. Not a good sign at all. I don't even want to think about the ratings for this week.
  8. Thanks. I was wondering why no one was reacting to a dead man in their midst. Ikr? At least that trope works most of the time. I've tried to see it, but Ichabod and Katrina have no romantic chemistry. Did they say how long they courted before they married? I think Michelle was miscast as Abigail Adams. She seemed like a modern woman from 2015 just dropped in the 18th century. I also agree that this felt like two different episodes. While I hated Ichabod leaving Abbie out of the situation, it's very unclear as to what they are now. Are they even Team Witness anymore? They're still partners in supernatural affairs, but with the Apocalypse averted and no real villain, there's no sense of urgency for them to fight. What exactly are they fighting? What are they trying to avoid? If they're just going after whatever comes out of Purgatory, then who says they even need to be together to get things done? Abbie can fight the monsters with Jenny, or Ichabod can team up with Jenny, or Ichabod can fight alone, and so on. I don't want them to be separated, but it hasn't been defined if there's a need for the Witnesses anymore now that the main threat is gone. Instead of some bogus episode about the Cranes having a night out to revive their dead marriage, they missed an opportunity for Ichabod and Abbie to find out what their real purpose is now, together or apart.
  9. My thoughts exactly. This episode was a boring mess. If this is what they're showing up to the season finale, there's no hope of getting those lost viewers back. If anything, they'll lose more.
  10. In all fairness, I thought their reactions made sense, because Katrina had sensed some dark presence already, so they knew something was up. And apparently, being around Abigail's possessions made the feeling stronger. I wish they had made Katrina into a novice witch or something. Her powers just come and go. I could understand if her powers were brand new and she didn't understand them, but I don't buy that this woman is an experienced witch.
  11. Never thought I would say this, but I miss Moloch. This episode was so boring and generic. Is this how it's going to be with Moloch gone; them fighting any asshole who shows up? Between the Crane Date Night (Ichabod, the man bun does not suit you) and Abbie basically stuck to a chair all night, I'm really glad I didn't DVR this one. Nothing against Michelle Tractenberg, but the Abigail Adams stuff bored me to tears. And of course Katrina delivered all five of her children as well as being her bestest friend. Surprised Abigail didn't end up being a witch as well. The Cranes don't have to be connected to everyone in the 18th century. LOL at Jenny screaming about the bullet. Bwah! Never change, Jenny. And you don't need Hawley to help you, you're bad-ass on your own. I groaned when Ichabod declined to tell the real Abbie what was going on so he and Katrina could solve the case together, but I cheered when Abbie showed up and got shit done, as usual. Know why she did that, Ichabod? Because she's your partner. Don't keep her out of the loop so wifey can feel better. I'm betting that Mrs. Irving pulled some strings with the DA to get Frank vindicated. Although the whole thing is weird. Abbie said they buried him, but wasn't there a funeral? Unless it was closed casket and no one saw the body, I would think everyone would be losing their minds at seeing a dead man just stroll up in the precinct. But there was no horrified reaction, not from the cops, from Reyes, from Mrs. Irving, from anyone. That is just bizarre. It had to be the makeup or the lighting, but I thought Nicole looked kinda off this week.
  12. I understand what you're saying. I don't know any of Katia's work beyond SH, so I can't say if she could play another role. But that could still backfire, because Katrina fans could be simply that: fans of Katrina, not another character played by Katia. FWIW, I don't think the show is going for a full reboot; that would mean tearing everything from the ground up and starting over. The viewers don't want that, either. I think the writers are just going back to basics.
  13. The only problem with that is that Katrina wasn't much use in Purgatory, either. She would send the occasional message to Ichabod when she could, but beyond that, she was a damsel-in-distress waiting to be rescued. Throwing her back in Purgatory would be taking a step backwards, not forwards. The majority of SH's viewers have lost patience with Katrina so the writers either need to put her somewhere where she'll truly be of use, or get rid of her. They can't afford to go back and forth on this anymore. Something I just thought of was that Abraham is mainly linked to the show through Katrina, now that Moloch is gone. I wonder if losing Katrina would mean losing Abraham/Headless as well.
  14. Not necessarily. A lot of women use those pads after they have a baby and their pelvic muscles are weakened, so holding their urine is more difficult. The more children you have, the weaker the muscles become. That's why doctors advocate Kegel exercises to strengthen those muscles, but they can't fix everything. I've heard women complain about nearly wetting themselves after a simple cough or sneeze.
  15. I'm also wondering how many changes they made to the remaining episodes this season, because I thought they were pretty much done filming. I think Goffman and his writers are out (huzzah!!) but I don't see them getting rid of Katrina and Henry. Probably just Katrina. Goffman is the only one pulling for her. Plus, John Noble was a favorite on Fringe, and FOX jumped to cast him in this. Besides the obvious CFD issue, losing Katrina won't mess up the storyline or the narrative, so she's expendable.
  16. IA. Even though a lot of people are campaigning for Rosamund Pike, I think it's Julianne's to lose.
  17. Amy Adams' snub is weird since she won the Golden Globe. Really disappointed about Selma.
  18. So we're getting a Hawley-centric episode one week, followed by a Katrina-centric episode...sigh. At least this gives my DVR a break. You know that meme of Chrissy Teigen's face at the Golden Globe awards? That's pretty much how I feel, only without the joy. The only (potential) good thing about this is It wouldn't endear the audiences to her any more, but it would make sense. (spoiler marked just in case!)
  19. Plus, Angie is a sweetheart, but she comes on really strong and doesn't seem to understand the concept of personal space. People who aren't spies would be wary of that constant "in-your-face" interaction after only knowing you a few days.
  20. Wow, I'm really digging this show. The scenes in the boarding house feel so genuine, like that girl who was evicted because she had a guy over. They add to the show, they don't detract from it. Jarvis is awesome, and my heart just broke for him in that interrogation room. And then my heart broke for Peggy when she got yelled at, plus all the staring afterwards. I really wanted to smack Agent Thompson in the head. I know he's doing his job, but I still don't like him. He's way too trigger-happy about beating up the perps. And now they really want to get Stark, which is only going to fuel the fire for Thompson. Still think Angie is undercover and spying on Peggy. And possibly Dottie. I know they're playing up the Sousa/Peggy thing, but Sousa is so blah, and does nothing for me. Peggy has more chemistry with Jarvis, although I don't want them hooking up because they're great as friends. Plus, the sweet story about his wife. But I did feel bad for Sousa when Kremzinsky was all "She's not going to downgrade from a red, white, and blue shield to an aluminum crutch." Ouch. For all that she puts up with, Peggy continues to own this show. She's awesome.
  21. I miss the old school "Taste the rainbow" Skittles ads instead of these bizarre commercials they have now. I think the cloud thing is stupid and makes no sense, but it's leagues better than the disgusting teenager-themed ads they had a few years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF6HF9NQzO0
  22. I truly cannot believe they're devoting an entire episode to Hawley and his past, when he's not even a damn regular. SMDH.
  23. Co-sign with the continuity issues; especially with what Savinggrace mentioned about Purgatory. It seems that when anyone dies or goes missing, they're in Purgatory. Pretty sure that's where Irving has been all this time, along with Andy Brooks, Lori Mills, and honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if we learned Corbin was there, too. And Caroline. And the Weeping lady (can't remember her name). Even Orion was trapped there. Is there no Heaven or Hell? And when someone gets released from purgatory, their body is completely intact with no problems. Seriously, if you can avoid the demons, purgatory doesn't sound so bad. Killing Moloch was a mistake. Why spend all this time going on about the apocalypse and how powerful he is just for Henry to take him out like that? And now Abbie and Ichabod are just fighting the leftover demons from Purgatory? I can't even start with the confusing avatars of the Horseman. It just confirms that Irving's death was a waste because he didn't really kill Henry. I hope FOX takes note that SH's competitor Jane the Virgin now boasts a Golden Globe, which means more publicity and live viewers.
  24. What really bugs me about that commercial is the sound of the mother trying to pry the molded plastic lid off of the container. Drives me nuts. And IA, serving them KFC is pointless when all they had been eating was chicken. It would have made more sense for them to show the family having constantly eaten meatloaf or something.
  25. I'm with Archer and Malory; big thumbs down to the name Abbiejean. I'm just calling her AJ. Good start to the season. It's funny how they just basically reset everything to the way it was prior to Archer Vice, and I'm thankful for it. Poor Malory not getting her all-white room. I thought Ken was definitely going to die, so I'm glad that he made it and had his nice call with his wife.
