  1. I'm sorry, did small Ed just threaten an NYC cop? I must laugh now.
  2. I really don't want to watch this show, but I do love the snark. Hate. Cody. So. Much.
  3. No, you were just a teenager.
  4. I know it's an unpopular opinion but I don't hate Statler. I adore Dempsey - she's one of my favorite people ever on the show. But Statler hasn't done anything to make me dislike her. Yes, she's seriously rushing things but that's not unforgiveable and hateful There's an openness towards each other that I like. But maybe I'm missing something.
  5. This is a good article and it addresses something I've wondered about: Why don't the AJLT women discuss or deal with post-menopausal sex? https://www.feministgiant.com/p/essay-hate-watching-and-just-like Are they on HRT? You would think they'd talk about the risks. If not, why are they never dealing with bleeding, which can sometimes be copious, or more frequent UTIs? (Is that all just me?) They could do a really funny, sweet episode in which one of them deals with it all with their partner - maybe Harry and Charlotte? It says a lot about a relationship when it's dealt with with humor and closeness. (I know these gals are insanely wealthy so they never have to think about the cost of lubes.) Given how much and how realistically they've talked to each other about sex in the past, why are they so silent on this?
  6. I can't find the post of whoever said Aiden wasn't overreacting but I do see your point. I'm thinking now Aiden's overwhelm wasn't caused by just Wyatt's physical injuries but also distress over knowing Wyatt was so distressed. And exacerbating that was Aiden's absence, which made Aiden feel doubly awful.
  7. In fairness, I have to admit that I'm still more team Che than team Miranda because of the way Miranda treated Steve. I do see Miranda morphing back into her old likeable personality, though, and I'm slowly starting to like her again. My empathy toward her may follow in time. Unless I'm misremembering, she said similarly harsh and hurtful things to Steve. She just doesn't work onstage. The whole sour standup set and the street fight was kind of a continuance of a bitter breakup made public. They're both pretty much still in the early stages of it.
  8. just now I'm not saying the set was funny. It wasn't. (Back to my belief that it's best not to have a character who's a standup because it's hard to write it well.) And it could have been helped by delivering it with a sweeter tone, a lookback that appreciated human foibles, but I doubt that's what the show wanted. (With that kind of delivery, Miranda might have even been able to laugh at herself.) I still say, though, that Miranda knows Che's a standup (and in AJLT world, we're supposed to think their standup is good) so that's what's going to happen. They didn't name Miranda and didn't even expect her to be there, they're just working out a set. It's not like a standup purposely bullying someone in the audience, which I hate. I also hate roasts. I'm not a fan of mean comedy (give me Mitch Hedberg instead) but in this case, Miranda has known Che's comedy style. I understand Miranda being upset, but knowing that she shouldn't have risked going. I myself wouldn't have laughed at the standup set if I were in the fictional audience. I'm just looking at it in terms of Miranda-Che. I always thought the reason Don Rickles got away with material that would have been unacceptably bigoted by another comic was that what he said was so ridiculous and his underlying appreciation and affection for others always came through. I don't know if there's a parallel here, though. And I'm remembering him from when I was growing up (I'm way old) so my take now might be different.
  9. (Sorry if this is a duplicate. I thought I'd posted it but I can't tell if it went through.) Has anyone else noticed John Corbett looking a lot like Craig Nelson?
  10. Gotta disagree. As Che reminded Miranda, they're a standup comic and that's their job. And that's the kind of material they do, not Seinfeldian "What's up with trash cans?" One of the things that attracted Miranda to Che was their comedy. (I still say writing a standup as a character in your show is possibly best avoided. It's hard to write good standup. Different thing from comedy dialogue.) In other words, ya date Taylor Swift, she's gonna write a song about you. What Che could have done was tell Carrie in advance that they would be doing material about their relationship with Miranda. I have to call out Carrie as the high schooler here. It's very high school to demand your friends come to something despite the deep hurt they've experienced with other guests, no matter who was right or wrong. And it's only 16 people, not 200 people where they could avoid each other.
  11. I call it "dry cryin'" and I spotted it, too. It's hard to cry on cue and directors should just let actors do the scene without forcing it and if tears come, they come. If not, it can still be emotional for the character. And Aiden was crying like his son was dead, which he wasn't. He wasn't even in danger of anything serious. Aiden's guilt would have been just as believable without the over-the-top crying. Crying from relief (like crying-laughing) would have worked, too. Carrie's whole life is an "event" to her. She needs to grow up and realize not everyone can make it (or want to make it) to every event.
  12. Has anyone else noticed John Corbett looking like Craig Nelson?
  13. Babies change so much month to month that it was really interesting watching 5 of them simulaneously do it in one household -- and to watch their parents handle it. The age they're at now doesn't involve such rapid change, and the kids require more privacy. Blayke's on the cusp of teenagehood, when kids typically want more privacy and their most important relatiionships are with friends. I still think going forward they should just do a catch-up special every few years.
  14. Oh my God, I'm so sorry for your unimaginable loss.
  15. I wonder if it makes them feel special. Like "I'm the only one who understands him, the only one he really loves and would never harm." Yea, good luck with that. Just don't be alone with him.
  16. I know!!! I constantly want to smack her hand away from her hair.
  17. This. Just the money they would have otherwise owed on the NICU bills might financially ruin anyone for life.
  18. Well, the two best lines of the past 2 seasons tonight! (IMO): "That's like finding out two of my stuffed animals are having sex." "I've watched 90 Day Fiance for the past 35 seasons." Why couldn't they write stuff like that for Che so they'd be actually believable as a comedian? Also, I don't really remember any musical moments from the two iterations of the show (although wasn't Big into "NY State of Mind" in the Suffern episodes?) but I loved them playing "I Feel Pretty." Overall, the show is much better. Even Miranda gets points for being the one least likely to talk in an exaggerated fashion. Is Nya's hookup one of her students? I don't remember where he came from. The only thing that sometimes still bugs me is the over-the-top "money is no object" constant. Hell, why doesn't Carrie just buy Manhattan?
  19. And tonight the foam-eating mom isn't swallowing the foam, either. I'm onto you, TLC.
  20. 90-Day friends are always super nosy and frequently downright invasive. I think the producers tell them to be that way.
  21. This goes out to Gino and Jasmine (to the tune of the Temptations' "Just My Imagination"): It was too much information Keep it way from me It was too much information Especially about the pee
  22. Makes no sense that Che's not on the road as a comic after having a Netflix special. I've known a few people who've done Netflix/HBO/Comedy Central comedy specials who never had to go back to "day jobs." They're not big names now but they are often working as either supportingTV comedy actors or TV comedy writers.
  23. Nothing to see here, sorry...
