  1. A good thing to do with performer kids is to discuss stage fright with them some time before showtime. Tell them it's normal if they get it, that even famous adult actors and musicians get it, and that it eases up the more often you perform. And that mistakes happen and things go wrong in live performance often, and learning how to handle them is part of it. (I used to tell my theater kids that while you don't want to make mistakes on purpose, some very creative things can come out of them.)
  2. I noticed we never actually saw her swallow it.
  3. When the 5-month-widower said, "It's never too late to get back in the dating game," I thought, "but it can be too soon."
  4. I rhink it depends on what the thing is. Ava enjoys dancing but was having normal stage fright. But if a kid hates playing football, why make them do it? Things necessary for school are a different matter. We adults are allowed preferences; why shouldn't they be? Learning to choose is an important skill, too. I guess it's a fine line.
  5. I think it's HOW she said it. Someone can say it with mild exasperation and it's different than how she said it. But maybe in his culture, it's taken much more seriously, like calling someone a c*** here.
  6. I really don't think he would ever cheat on Armando. But I think because he had to hide his true self in his 20s, that may factor into wanting to move. And he just doesn't seem like a small-town guy.
  7. Whyyyyyyyy is Jen' s catfishing mean-girl girlfriend on Pillow Talk???? Whyyyyyy is Angela coming back? Since when is telling someone he's a dick not cursing at him?
  8. I don't think I've squealed since I was a baby. I could see doing it if I saw the Beatles in elementary school.
  9. I guess New Miranda doesn't like normal people. She didn't want Steve anymore because he wanted to sit on the sofa and eat ice cream. She got fed up with Che when Che suffered a major career blow and wasn't a dazzling showbiz person anymore. Then when it turned out the Jane Austen lady was a normal person when she wasn't "on" as a performer, Miranda ghosts her (which was really mean, as ghosting usually is). I like Che a lot as Carrie's friend. And I like Sarah a lot as an actor, so I'm glad they're finding a way for them to stick around. (Maybe Che could become a surgeon!!) TV pilots come and go but Che had a Netflix special (or was it two?) so it's surprising she's not on the road as a comic and on tv shows that have on known comedians.
  10. I hadn't smoked for decades and then did once after the lockdown and I couldn't move and could barely speak for two hours, and my chest hurt like hell. This ain't your mother's pot.
  11. I thought she was being too Karen this episode, as were Charlotte and even Harry. Too much needless ragging on service people. I hope with her new job Charlotte goes back to talking normally sometimes.
  12. I like the family but at this point the show is so boring. They should just do a special in five years and again five years after that, if at all.
  13. This. Yes! This seems to be stage fright, which is very common. Seasoned performers get it. Laurence Olivier threw up before going onstage - and he wanted to perform. Not everyone wants to be center stage.
  14. I'm starting to think Nicola's religiosity isn't the only reason he's a virgin...
  15. I did that once decades ago when I was working retail. I needed a coworker to cover for me for a couple of minutes and I said, "Can you cover the (was supposed to be 'front')?" Everyone stopped and stared at me.
  16. Based on the preview, looks like you're right.
  17. I was touched by it, too, until Miranda turned back into a bitch. Her behavior in that scene reminded me of this exchange from "Mom" (paraphrased a little): Bonnie: You'll see. When I get back (from an AA meeting), I'll be a different person. Adam: You've been three different people in the past hour! I was just starting to like Miranda again when she was - finally! - contrite. Can we keep Che and lose Miranda? I really liked Che last episode and this one. I find Sara tremendously likeable as an actor, anyway, maybe it's a holdover from their Grey days. I wish the writers could comprehend that it's not Miranda's new sexuality that's a problem; it's her new personality. I agree that this is the best episode of the season so far.
  18. The one illogical plot device in the series (given that it's about fungi-ridden zombies) to me was the cult guy actually bringing medicine. Why would he do that? He would know that psycho pedo pastor wouldn't let Ellie go.
  19. Applause to whoever said Che's fine but Che and Miranda suck. And that's because of the way the show changed Miranda's personality, not her sexuality. I would think Che's been in show biz long enough to know not all pilots make it to air. (Or their advisors could...well, advise them.) So don't count your apartments before your show airs, I guess. (Why did she give up her old NYC apartment?) And loved Christopher Jackson in his Washington costume! I would have been so happy if he had sung a little, "Every man shall sit under his own vine and fig tree..."
  20. I liked seeing them again. That said, I think skipping a few years before filming again from here on is a good idea. Gives the girls privacy. And kids don't change day-to-day quickly like babies do. But I do enjoy catching up with them.
  21. I keep wishing Christopher Jackson would burst into "One Last Time" from Hamilton.
  22. I'm in for the two guys meeting up in a kind of Ross/Russ in Friends way.
  23. I'd much rather that than my doc being unable to focus because they're so hungry. Full disclosure: I used to take smoke breaks with my dentist.
  24. Wouldn't Big be somewhere around 70 now if he'd lived?
