  1. I did that once decades ago when I was working retail. I needed a coworker to cover for me for a couple of minutes and I said, "Can you cover the (was supposed to be 'front')?" Everyone stopped and stared at me.
  2. Based on the preview, looks like you're right.
  3. I was touched by it, too, until Miranda turned back into a bitch. Her behavior in that scene reminded me of this exchange from "Mom" (paraphrased a little): Bonnie: You'll see. When I get back (from an AA meeting), I'll be a different person. Adam: You've been three different people in the past hour! I was just starting to like Miranda again when she was - finally! - contrite. Can we keep Che and lose Miranda? I really liked Che last episode and this one. I find Sara tremendously likeable as an actor, anyway, maybe it's a holdover from their Grey days. I wish the writers could comprehend that it's not Miranda's new sexuality that's a problem; it's her new personality. I agree that this is the best episode of the season so far.
  4. The one illogical plot device in the series (given that it's about fungi-ridden zombies) to me was the cult guy actually bringing medicine. Why would he do that? He would know that psycho pedo pastor wouldn't let Ellie go.
  5. Applause to whoever said Che's fine but Che and Miranda suck. And that's because of the way the show changed Miranda's personality, not her sexuality. I would think Che's been in show biz long enough to know not all pilots make it to air. (Or their advisors could...well, advise them.) So don't count your apartments before your show airs, I guess. (Why did she give up her old NYC apartment?) And loved Christopher Jackson in his Washington costume! I would have been so happy if he had sung a little, "Every man shall sit under his own vine and fig tree..."
  6. I liked seeing them again. That said, I think skipping a few years before filming again from here on is a good idea. Gives the girls privacy. And kids don't change day-to-day quickly like babies do. But I do enjoy catching up with them.
  7. I keep wishing Christopher Jackson would burst into "One Last Time" from Hamilton.
  8. I'm in for the two guys meeting up in a kind of Ross/Russ in Friends way.
  9. I'd much rather that than my doc being unable to focus because they're so hungry. Full disclosure: I used to take smoke breaks with my dentist.
  10. Wouldn't Big be somewhere around 70 now if he'd lived?
  11. which could actually happen any old time in NYC, too
  12. On the old show, did everyone talk in such an exaggerated way all the time? I was so grateful when the therapist talked like a normal person.
  13. The funny thing is, I have an Android phone, too, and that part didn't bother me. Half the time, I can't answer calls on time because I think I'm swiping wrong! She just seems to be a ditz in other ways she never would have before.
  14. it's definitely better than some of the shows TLC has tried to foist on us (MILF Manor, uggghhhhh, Stuck). I liked the one about the prosthetic-maker but that only lasted a few weeks.
  15. I still feel sad for him, but it's getting close to "Williams" levels of frustration.
  16. She wouldn't let anyone kiss anyone. Even if it were their JOB.
  17. I kept expecting them each time to put in "and then I called 911" to retcon it.
  18. I didn't think he was schooling her. He knows it's the network casting a "name." Not Che's doing.
  19. On team Che here. When Che first came outside, they knew nothing of what was going on with Brady - they were just shaken, embarrassed, and probably afraid since they'd have to do the scene again and they're not a solid actor. When Miranda explained the circumstances, Che did reel it in and express concern for Brady. Miranda has become stupid. She's like Lobotomized Miranda. I bet Tony Danza would be just as kind and wonderful in real life.
  20. Thank you! "Stupid" was exactly the word I thought of. (And you could see what was going to happen a mile away.) This new, ditzy Miranda is hard to take. I totally get why Che was upset, and I don't think she was being selfish. (Again, Miranda was stupid.) As they said, Che's not a trained actor who could pull off doing the scene again and getting a sitcom is a standup's dream. (Granted the show's "comedy" sucked, but in Carrieville that doesn't matter.) This could change Che's life and mean economic security. That said, seems like this show might be getting somewhat funny again!
  21. I like the Busbys but the show got very boring. What drew me in in the first place was watching what taking care of quint newborns was like. It stayed interesting until they were about 3 or 4. Then it just became boring shows about going on trips.
  22. But nature does make up for it with all the lovely chin hair.
  23. It's always perilous when a show has a stand-up comic as a character. Great standup is pretty rare and difficult to write. Che's outro was incredibly lame. "Seinfeld" was funny but Jerry's opening monologues usually weren't. I think this show might be past its shelf life for me. It got less and less interesting to me as the characters got richer and richer. Maybe I'll like it better as I see more episodes. I'm glad Kristin D remembered how to act. Maybe it's just that they're writing her more like the old Charlotte. She was over-the-top annoying in Season 1. I wish she would let herself age naturally. And I enjoyed the moments Carrie was more like the old jokey, down to earth Carrie. All that said, I'll watch the whole season, of course.
