Random trivia..douchebag was originally slang for a condom. π

What?? Not made in 'murcia?! I'm shocked.

My husband is the same way. Added bonus? He always decides to start these long-ass stories when I am on the phone (never fails.)
-
And none of you will be going to jail! (hopefully)π Congrats to him. π

Ditto on having to Urban Dictionary it.

It's either this, and/or the Lulano clothes don't "spark joy" anymore. I heard thrift stores are being inundated with stuff (junk) lately because of Marie Kondo's organizing show.

Whenever people complain about a "crabby old person", I tell them they were probably just as crabby when they were younger. It's just as you get older, you let your crabiness fly free. Now get off my lawn!

Happy Birthday, @Oldernowiser! and to keep it somewhat on topic, here's a Duggar gif for ya. π

I have been married for fifty years (yes, fifty) and my husband and I never had any political disagreements until this last election. We just can't/don't talk politics at ALL anymore. Maybe that's what they do.

I have to really force myself not to use too many exclamation points, or emojis. It's hard sometimes to remember not toβ π

If we see one of those click bait articles saying: "Fans worry Jinger Duggar has this disease!!!" you heard it from me on this board first. π I swear their articles always sound like stuff we've all been discussing.

Practically a spinster. π

You know what is sad to me? When I saw this story on Inside Edition today, it immediately made me think of Jill R. and her kids. I do often wonder what the Rodrigues kids (and the Duggars) go through when they are not being filmed. JMO Police say the children appeared pale, underweight and had bags under their eyes.

I love reading everyone's posts too. I have to admit though, that sometimes I wish someone's "wall of text" had a few paragraphs or line breaks to make their posts less eye-crossing to read. (I'm not naming any names) I'm sure I have many posting sins of my own, btw.π

I wonder if she ever was screened for Scoliosis, like they do for kids in public schools?

In my old lady opinion, nobody can pull that eyebrow look off. NOBODY -
I'll take a stab at this. For the adoration of their flock? (basing this on both my cousin and my sister, who basically think their pastors walk on water.)

I wonder if it's like the property my daughter owns in New Mexico. They got their land really cheap because no water was to be found on it (unless they drilled for a well not knowing if they'd even ever find water..and very expensive.) It was also too far away to run water lines to it. So all the years they lived there they had tankfuls of water trucked in by a service. She had to really ration the water use. I hated visiting her there..no flushing the toilets if it was just #1, could barely get yourself wet in the time alloted for a shower. Oh shoot..I'm rambling..sorry. Just wondered if it's a possibility that they don't have to run pipes out to the street? She used tanked gas, and a fireplace for heat, too.

Come to think of it, this is the only Alice I ever "knew".. I seriously can't remember ever meeting one in real life. How funny. PS and my younger sister's name is Alison! (one L)

Now I have to learn how to make gifs, π because I can't find a gif from "To Sir With Love" of the girl saying "I'm a f*cking lady, I am!"

Aw.....you're so honest. That's what I get for assuming. π I love the history of names btw..they fascinate me. One of my favorite websites is: http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager , where you can search any name and see the history of how popular they've been over the years. Just for fun, I searched both Barb and Alice..here are the results: (no wonder there was at least two other Barbaras in my school classes throughout my life..what about Alice?) π Ps looks like Alice is making a small comeback..Barb has flatlined.π

From one hurting Barb to another, I thought I'd post a little humor. "CHRONIC ILLNESS BINGO What better to lighten the mood than a game? Next time you are at a gathering with friends or relatives that give you a hard time, simply bring this card and play Chronic Illness BINGOβ¦ see if you can fill a line, or even the whole board. You get to check off a space every time someone says one of these things to you." π (I'm sure I've said some of this stuff to other people when I was young and healthy, and trying to be sympathetic, btw.) Ps..I think our name is just about obsolete....I can't remember the last time I heard of a baby "Barbara." β€

I am avoiding folding laundry right now... ^^ is it a thing to wear your grandma's couch covers as a top now? ^^ standing on a small bench near a pan on the stove with a handle not turned away from your kids? ^^Running around a dollar store wooden toy with protruding spikes? ^cute... Reminds me of the rhyme diddle, diddle dumpling my son John, one shoe off, and one shoe on... ^^^cute..my kids and grandkids made pretend trains just like this.
