I know it is mean but part of me was hoping that entire build up with Tom was him going out there to call her fat again and just leaving. It kind of amazes me at how popular this kind of advice is, Like, gay couples exist, I assure you even though we are both dudes the dishes get done, the bathroom is clean and there is dinner every night. It just astounds me at how pervasive these gender cliches about relationships are, it's actually incredibly popular and mainstream among Christian relationship counseling. Like, we know that gay couples exist and their relationships are fine, a lot of studies suggest that same-sex male relationships tend to actually be healthier than straight couples so obviously gay couples have found some way to manage meeting the physical, financial and emotional needs of running a home without some bullshit about gender roles.

Really? These days domestic partnerships are pretty common, I know TONS of people that are in incredibly committed relationships that are not married and would never claim to be single in any context but certifying that they are legally married. It has actually kind of surprised me how many gay couples I know that I thought would jump to get married that haven't for whatever reason.

Seriously. All this time I guess I just took her at face value that she has serious hair loss due to her PCOS. Her hair looks fine, like maybe some traction alopecia, maybe not as full as she would like but within the normal fullness of any women her age's hair without a bunch of product and extensions. Was there ever a reason believed she had serious hair loss besides the fact that she kept bringing it up for sympathy? I think her problem in general is less PCOS and more body dysmorphia.

I was just about to bring this up, I consider myself 100% gay, I don't feel any sexual attraction to women whatsoever, not even the tiniest bit. I've had sex with women, I've dated women. Still 100% gay. If Stephanie was genuinely curious about exploring that part of her sexuality, she would do it, at a certain point touch is touch and sex is sex unless hand fetishization is WAY WAY WAY underreported. While we are on the topic, have we speculated on Geoffrey's sexuality? Because I don't believe he is straight. There is just a certain je ne sais quoi about his voice and mannerism that comes off as almost intentionally signaling gay in a very subtle way. Like, it's closer to me when I have code switched in a queer space than me, I dunno, buying groceries if I'm not shopping with my husband.

I'm guessing this is all part of the scam down the the flowers and restaurant. I'm guessing this "dating website" was happy to arrange flowers and a restaurant reservation and all involved were getting a cut.

Oh come on, it's not like Erika covered a missing nose or 50 pounds, she pretty much looks like her photos. And yes, being physically attracted to your partner is an important thing but so is months of alleged deep emotional bonding. AND NOT TO PASS JUDGEMENTS ON PEOPLE'S APPEARANCES, but Erika is not a burn victim or covered in weeping skin lesions, there is no clear, even if bigoted, reason she might be opposed to any physical affection towards her, yet she seems clearly repulsed by the very idea of any level of physical intimacy with her. I'm just not buying it, if anyone did the catfishing here is was Stephanie.

I want to tread carefully on bi-erasure, I really just don't get the sense that she is even casually perusing the Bissell catalog, she just signed up to mailing list on a whim.

Geoffrey reminds me of this guy physically, emotionally and mentally that used to low key stalk my friend group when we would go out to bars. We typically went out every Saturday to the same couple of bars and he would just stand around us, sometimes talk to us, sometimes stare at us from a short distance away, he would get angry at us if we made plans without him like he was ever included in any of our plans in the first place. He did this for a while, at one point he got somewhat buff and then got even angrier at everyone because now that he was buff he was owed a boyfriend, one was supposed to just manifest because he decided he was attractive. Instead he just looked scarier with more muscle. Around the end my now husband and me started a romantic relationship after a number of years in this same friend group, this enraged him, you see, both of us had previous LTRs and thus he was owed a boyfriend before we got another one. He told us he wanted to steal our happiness and made some vague physical threat against me that got him banned from what had become our typical bar hangout (it didn't take much convincing, they were happy to get rid of him). In the end, he talked his wealthy parents who were still partially supporting him in his 40s despite him having an advanced degree and teaching at a community college in to buying him a Buick. Apparently having a nice car (I mean, a Buick, we aren't talking a Porsche here) was going to solve all his dating problems. He took his own life shortly thereafter and I was just thankful he didn't take me out with him.

Just to add, a felony drug conviction is a BFD not just as a thing about his past, it's got massive relevance to their future. Forget about renting an apartment, even places that will rent to people with felonies will not rent to people with drug felonies on their record. Same with jobs, employment with a drug felony is going to be difficult. I'm not saying that it is necessarily a deal killer for a relationship but it's something that she should think about.

To address the cellphone "issue", context is everything. If you are relatively affluent a cellphone is actually a bit of a luxury. You probably have a computer at work, a computer at home, an office phone, high speed internet, etc. A cellphone is a convenience item. However if you are poor your phone is all of those things, it's probably your primary way of doing anything electronically and these days everyone, even the very poor, need to do things electronically, And smartphones aren't just some extravagant luxury, you can buy a new prepaid Android phone for less than $40 in the US. Back to the show: I'm sorry if it makes me a terrible person but Tom going in for the kill and asking her if she had gained weight was just amazing, it was just the perfect timing to go at something she is obvious incredibly insecure about just for no damn reason but it would hurt her even more, damn, that is just ruthless. And Darcy deserves it.

Sorry, I'm late to this party and haven't caught up on all the old threads but... Am I the only one that doesn't think Stephanie is actually bisexual? I get the sense that identifying as bisexual sounded fun but actually being in a same-sex relationship kind of seems to disgust her. I mean everyone has their own journey and internalized homophobia is a thing, god knows I've gone through it, but I really don't get the sense she is sexually or romantically attracted to women on any level.

OK, but by all accounts they have never spent an extended amount of time together, they should really figure that out if they ever plan to. I have seen no indication from Whit that she either is capable of meaningful and genuine compromise or knowing when to fucking drop a thing, she seems to relish in pushing the buttons of even the people that she claims she is closest to just for the drama. I dunno, my horrible half-sister and her even worse husband seem to get off on their weird masochistic relationship of seemingly being barely able to tolerate anything about their spouse or the life they have inexplicably choosen to live despite their ability to change just about any of it so lid of every pot I guess.

Never done anything sexual with the opposite sex. There is also platinum gay, it means you were born by cesarean section so you have never even touched a vagina.

Can confirm, I consider myself 100% gay, slept with well over 100 men, like, completely lost track of how many men I have slept with somewhere around 150, married to another guy, not attracted to women sexually at all. I slept with women before I came out. It was a combination of thinking I'd eventually find the right women that I would click with, some of it trying to convince others that I was straight. It's really not that unusual, it's why the term gold-star gay exists.

I'm still somehow shocked at how there is no basement to the lack of shame she has to try and keep this grift going.

Children, how you are going to divide housework, career expectations, long term goals, money management, how you are going to live, where you want to live, there are like a gazillion serious things that are being completely left out for moments before engagement

I went to a charity event that was infested by a reality TV show. It was a real event, actually a very popular event and the reality show set up a completely separate cordoned off area for the "stars" and I guess extras? to party. I couldn't bring myself to watch the episode even out of morbid curiosity because I found their behavior completely disgusting but it was super weird that they had this little closed off party that did not reflect that nature of the real event at all.

Her ability to gain weight while eating hardly anything could serve her well with coronavirus related food shortages.
