So Meghan's not there, and Joy's not there?

Our local returned to The View for about a minute, and then the hearing finally started, so they returned to it. The first 8 minutes or so consisted of a local reporter talking over images of Spacey sitting there, waiting for the hearing to begin.

I sympathize with you, but I’m here for a predator being held accountable.

I find it really interesting that she posted the picture to begin with. All the other Ivy pictures (posted by Duggars) have been either closely cropped or in a home setting. We would probably still think it odd that we haven't seen Jessa, but there would be no proof that they went to the hospital. Everyone clearly waited to post until after the US article (a day and a half after Ivy's birth); wouldn't Guinn have received similar instructions not to post a picture that clearly gave away the fact that they're in a medical setting? Did she choose to ignore those instructions? (Seems unlikely for a grandma who wants a continued happy relationship with her only daughter-in-law/ access to her only grandkids.) Did Jessa not think to ask to begin with? Is Jessa so out of it that she's not even aware the picture was posted? (I'm picturing her croaking out to Jana her Instagram password and what to post before passing out again...) Is she happy the picture is fomenting rumors, and therefore keeping her relevant? (But would she really be happy that this photo is contradicting her happy little birth story on Instagram?)

Since the show is her son’s and his family’s bread and butter, Guinn better get with the program.  The Seewalds may think they’re better than the Duggars, but their son is not.

The fact that the Duggars aren't making a public skeptical out of their worrying makes me think she's not so sick that it warrants major concern. I'm guessing she had an emergency slightly bigger in scale than she had with Spurgeon and needs more time to recover.

What's going to be interesting to me is how they spin it. A lot of th homebirth crowd tend to downplay emergencies. If people hadn't seen the ambulance and the 911 call hadn't been released after Spurgeon's birth, I don't think they would have ever disclosed about the bleeding and hospital transfer.

I didn’t follow it closely, but weren’t the Duggars pretty discreet about whatever complications occurred with Sammy?

I just don't understand the obsession with home births when their sainted mother had most of her babies in the hospital.

The only ones with any sense are Jinger and Kendra.

Curious to see which way Lauren will go.

All of the Bates grandchildren have been born in hospitals/birthing centers.

The stupidity is just mind boggling.

I don’t think it’s Jinger and Kendra with the sense. Babe makes all decisions, and Kendra has a family who has remained very involved rather than stepping back and letting the Duggars run the show.

I agree about the contracts and such generally, but I don't think that's the reason that we haven't seen pictures of Jessa and Ben. They wouldn't have allowed pictures of Ivy to be posted if they were worried about exclusives. Plus, the only pictures the public really cares about are of the baby. They're not getting paid extra for pictures of people we've seen a million times.

This makes me slightly alarmed. You’re right - the money is first shot of the baby, too.  Wouldn’t it be awful if Jessa is sick and Ben is at her side.  Meanwhile, the Duggars are putting pictures out there of Ivy without her parents’ express permission.

Edited to add:  And the Seewalds as well.

So Jessa has a girl now too.

Wonder if we will be seeing some sister competition on Instagram with dresses, bows and who has the prettier girl???

I am totally guessing that Jessa is jealous of Jinger's life.  Looking forward to the Insta J-Show Down.

I’m not so sure Jessa is jealous.  She runs her household and it doesn’t revolve around Ben like the Vuolo household revolves around Babe.

The first night of (I think) JoJo's season, former Bachelor Jake Pavelka was wandering around the mansion making small talk with the guys, most of whom were giving talking head interviews resenting his presence since "he already had his chance." Turns out he was just there to wish childhood friend JoJo well and report on a few of the douchier guys.

Doing a 100% comprehensive background check is much harder than you'd think. When people recall the mid-2000s trainwreck Who Wants to Marry a Multimillionaire?, they think it was pulled off the air after one ep because the winner Darva Conger hated the guy she married. It was actually yanked because right after the show aired, it was revealed that the "Multimillionaire" Rick Rockwell had had a restraining order slapped on him a decade before by an ex-girlfriend who'd claimed he'd hit her. A Fox spokesperson said that since they'd done the best background check they could possibly do and still missed something that would have been immediately disqualifying, it would be difficult to continue the show.

    For me, it's two things:

    1) Insisting he be referred to by his first, middle and last names is a sign of a major pretentious asshat. The fact that he shares the name with a member of my favorite music group of all time (Led Zeppelin) just makes it more irritating.

    2) His affected surfer-wannabe manner of speaking just grates.

These guys have a lot of grating voices.  They have vocal fry, valley girl, surfer, and dumb jock. I couldn’t handle any of the conversations.

Not sure about Devin, but I believe Matteo is the sperm donor who has so far fathered 114 children. Can't wait to see how that's brought up this season.

Pease tell me these 114 children are scattered throughout the US and not in one town.

It’s excruciating. Becca’s Blake has something similar and it’s so distracting.

God, please NO!!!!  I am one of those people who enjoy the mindless, ridiculous, silly entertainment of the Real Housewives, and would hate to have to stop watching!!

I agree, but then wouldn’t it be beautiful when Bethenny made an idiot out of her?  She’d be a sobbing mess by the end of the first episode.  Bethenny is self-made and wouldn’t put up with Meghan’s delusions of grandeur.

I googled her age the other day (33) and learned she has a degree in psychology.  Apparently you don't need math for that.

Turbo entertained me all season with his English ("You don't yell to me!") so I'm not mad he won.

Didn’t he also say something like, “I am almost die”?

Also found that weird. There weren’t any people left to feed, much less defend with ships, or build ships, or build brothels. I understand bureaucracy rolls on, but there was no populace left, unless there’s a huge chunk of survivors who fled into the countryside. If so, would have been nice to see them straggling back in.

I assumed that the lords and ladies had resources to run for the hills. It was the poor and resourceless who were forced to seek refuge behind the gates.

God forbid there’s not a whorehouse. It was probably the first thing to be rebuilt.

Deirdra: Me too, but boy it was a long process. My sister and I were laughing about how much we miss our Mom's crazy laugh, but then said at the same time "how can we miss it, when we laugh just like her" and then just died laughing.

Hey, did anybody figure out why she yelled out today My Mother's Cindy McCain for no reason?

I assumed it meant that everyone knows Cindy let them do inappropriate things, such as watch/listen to Stern when they were little.  Minimal supervision?

Has Nutmeg ever said what she thinks should happen to the children of the women who bear them instead of having an abortion?

Adoption? How many has Nutmeg adopted? How many of these women has she personally assisted with child care, sick care duties, clothing allowances, etc.?

    Probably the same number as most pro-lifers . . . . none.

You are the epitome of grace, class and strength.

Given the fact that Cindy McCain raised at least one of her children to exhibit a complete lack of manners, class, grace, and compassion every chance she gets, I'm side eyeing that comment with the strength of a Sunny side eye.

Of course, there are exceptions, but decent parents with a good set of values usually don't create pathologically entitled egomaniacs the likes of Meghan McCain.

To be fair, Cindy had a prescription drug addiction for some time.  Maybe that's when Meghan went off the rails.  The other kids seem to mind their manners.

Will there ever be any consequences for Meghan attacking their guests after they leave?  She also just shouted that she "hated!" Blasio yesterday.

I disagree here because Jo was a danger to others when she showed up drunk to work. Possibly on more than one occasion. She was also unstable to the point of Jackson realizing he needed to supervise her and had a breakdown in front of the parent of a patient. I think inpatient care was totally warranted. She was not functioning in everyday life and with her being a doctor puts patients at risk. Given the degree of the trauma, it would probably be difficult for her to deal with it and her emotions effectively while working. She needs immediate intensive therapy and i'm glad she's getting it.

That simply means she should have been fired or given a leave of absence from the hospital.

Yes. I can't help but think it's some weird passive aggressive way of FV trying to get her to lose weight.

It's a delicate subject.  I'm not sure if the rumors are true, but she seemed to struggle with an ED for quite a few years.  They obviously like KS since she's been allowed to take two extended breaks, so I hope they tread carefully.

She probably does know people who've had one but they've been smart enough not to let her know about it.

Didn't they have a guest on recently that Meghan had to shout out was her friend, and then the friend went on to discuss her abortion?  Does that mean Meghan ended that friendship, or did she conveniently forget?
