  1. I can't help but wonder what kind of homeschooling Truely is getting while Christine is constantly on the go. Is the homeschooling thing really for Truely, or is it to accommodate Christine's new lifestyle?? It seems to be one endless vacation party.
  2. You would be amazed at what they can afford if they just take a payment on everything and put no money down. I have family members who do this. If your income is above a certain amount, they will keep approving you for financing and loans even if you have nothing saved and have payments everywhere. I am betting Kody does this. The whole Brown family appears to be awful at finances, since they don't even realize that health insurance is one of the first things you should buy after housing and food when you have money. I think they all have ridiculous payments. The rental Christine is sitting in is said to be worth a million dollars, which means she has to be paying a lot in rent for only herself and Truely. They are smart to take whatever pay cut they need to to stay on the air. The show keeps them semi-famous, which creates a pool of customers for their MLMs and other side hustles.
  3. I didn't think that situation really had anything to do with Robyn. What that situation said to me was that Janelle and Kody had never worked together to parent their children. They were incapable of working together to set boundaries and rules and expectations, and I think that's because Kody has never really been the second parent for Janelle's kids. Janelle was a single mom with Christine to help. Years have passed with that arrangement, and now Kody walks in and wants to start parenting. Except his version of parenting involves no compromise or actual negotiation. He was right about his concern for Janelle catching Covid because her sons demanded to socialize, but the way he handled it was awful, and his absence for most of their lives in a real parenting role meant he had no right to speak up now. As Kody pointed out, he can't kick his sons out of Janelle's house because his name isn't even on Janelle's lease. Janelle's parenting wasn't so stellar either though. It's clear those boys do whatever they want and walk all over her, while probably living rent free in her home. The way Gabe spoke to her made me cringe several times. There are some maturity issues there.
  4. They are a clique, just like Kody and Robyn are a clique, and Robyn and Meri are occasionally a clique. The whole family dynamic is toxic. It reminds me of first and second best friends in middle school. Janelle and Kody are not married, not legally, spiritually, or in any other sense of the word. Janelle is more in denial than Meri if she thinks they are married. But I really think Janelle knows she's not married, and just keeps up the façade for the perks it sometimes provides.
  5. So is this how Janelle "thinks" about whether she wants to stay in polygamy and work on her relationship with Robyn? She's spending all her time with her kids and Christine and Christine's kids. Robyn and Kody are nowhere in sight. But Janelle is still "married". Right, Janelle. What is the point of the lie? For filming, or to keep Kody coming over to do small chores around the house? I wonder if Robyn and Kody are watching Janelle's dogs while Janelle vacations on Spring Break with Christine.
  6. I thought Molly had a real business. Is she selling Plexus now too??
  7. I don't doubt that Meri can be a bitch to live with. But I have a sneaking suspicion that part of the reason she got a bad rap with the kids was that she is a disciplinarian, while Christine and Janelle are very loving but also very passive and permissive mothers. Janelle's kids seemed to walk all over her during Covid, and the way Gabe answered her sometimes made me cringe. Christine ignored Covid and used it to stick it to Kody, and brought her kids along with her. And both Christine and Janelle have pulled their daughters into their bullshit MLM schemes, instead of encouraging them to find more sustainable ways to make money. Paedon seems a bit immature for his age, and Maddie seems prone to exaggeration like her father. So I question when Maddie calls Meri a "monster" or when Paedon acts like Meri was so horrible. Was she just trying to make rules and get the kids to behave? Or perhaps she was reacting to how rude Paedon admits he was to Robyn's kids. Personally, I think the best one of them all is Logan, who got away from the cameras and social media as fast as possible, got an education, and went on with his life. The others should learn from his example. Also, Paedon has a unique first name, so he may want to watch what he puts out on the Internet for future employers to see when they run a quick Google search before interviewing him for a job. If he really did hit Gwen, he might not want to advertise that on social media.
  8. Didn't Kody have a fit when one of the other daughters wore a dress that was way more modest than what Ysabel is wearing?
  9. There was an episode years ago where Kody seemed to be trying to take up some of the Jewish laws and traditions. Is this not eating pork thing part of that? I forget exactly what he said, but I remember being annoyed. Christine said she has abandoned her church, so if she's not eating pork for biblical reasons, that's ridiculous. The Duggars did it too, trying to act like they had super respect for Judaism when they were on one of their trips overseas. I always thought it was offensive.
  10. I think Meri may be confusing bad ass with dumb ass. Meri is a dumb ass while Janelle is a lazy ass and Robyn is just an ass. And Kody is just bad, on so many levels.
  11. I don't think Kody was a hands-on parent at all. Although Paedon said that Kody apparently did things with Robyn's kids that he never did with them, so maybe he changed a bit. But if he did help, they haven't shown it on the show. Kody always seemed like more of a drive-by parent, who wandered through, talked to the kids a bit and maybe occasionally took them for ice cream, and left everything else up to the mothers. Mostly up to Christine, which probably angered her a lot when he also couldn't even be bothered to shower in her part of the house because he wanted to get away from all the kids he created.
  12. TLC is owned by the same company that owns the Food Network, HGTV, and Discovery. Someone from the Food Network could coach her if her cooking show takes off. Also, the whole world is owned by 6 people when you start looking into it. Certainly, the television stations and streaming networks are all owned by a very small group of companies. And Christine's recipes aren't any more unhealthy than those made by the Food Network stars. Most of them get flavor by using a whole stick of butter in everything.
  13. Meri's strength is that she appears to be very good at getting things done quickly and efficiently. We saw that in the episodes where they were packing, moving, etc. I have a similar driver personality, and I would suck at sales and Facebook Live. Meri should hire Jenn to run the Facebook Lives, and handle the backend stuff line invoices, shipping, etc, herself. Meri needs to learn to work to her strengths. She is not meant to be a person on videos. She comes across as jaded and pushy and intolerant.
  14. I watched Christine make a cheese lasagna a while back on Facebook Live, and it looked like something I could actually make. I am not a talented cook, and the chefs on Food Network often use ingredients and tools that I don't have at home and wouldn't buy for just one recipe. Christine's recipe was simple and used items I have or wouldn't mind buying because I would use them again. She also comes across as very likeable. I've watched some of Mykelti's Facebook Lives selling LulaRoe, and she is likeable as well, but a bit too hyper and she has a forced happiness about her that is a little over the top.
  15. It depends on what kind of trouble Truely had. If she was being bullied, I agree with pulling her out and homeschooling. The schools do nothing of substance to deal with bullies. I do hope she has some social outlet outside the family, like outside activities or something. You can homeschool and still have a community and friends. I know people who do it. Maybe Christine was sensitive to the fact that poor Truely would be going on her 3rd school in a relatively short period of time as well. Maybe the poor kid just needed a break. She's been jerked around so much by this family's ridiculous moves.
  16. From what they showed on the show, it looked like Meri signed her divorce papers with no financial agreement that would force Kody to pay her anything or entitle her to his 401k or anything. I hope she did get something and they just didn't show it. She was legally married to him for like 25 years. She could have gotten alimony.
  17. The same way they made a whole franchise called "Real Housewives" where not a single cast member actually does housework, and some of them aren't even "wives" anymore. People watch for the drama. They don't really care about the theme. The ratings will go up because people want to see Kody and Christine fight. I finished watching the episode. I found it fascinating that Robyn described her current situation (a husband leaving all but one wife) as if that was someone else's situation that happens sometimes, but in no way describes the Brown family's current situation.
  18. Christine actually comes off as relatively likeable in her Facebook Lives and other social media. She sounds natural and relaxed. I remember watching Kate Gosselin try to branch out and it was just painful. Christine definitely has a likeability factor. She's not really that far off from Ree Drummond, whose popularity also seems to be stem entirely from her "Gee-Shucks" everyday woman friendly personality. Christine just might make it work. She seems so at peace during the Tell All. Do we know when the Tell All was filmed? Was it recently or a year ago? I wish the adult kids were part of the Tell All. I would have liked to hear their take on things.
  19. I wonder if Christine agreed to give up child support so she could take Truely to Utah. She likely would have needed Kody's permission to move out of state with their child. So Janelle says Christine and Kody tried everything to save their marriage, and Robyn claims no one tried at all. They need to get their story straight. I'm guessing the truth is somewhere in the middle. And Robyn's "big picture" was screwed the minute she walked in the door of the Lehi house. Christine hated her on sight, Janelle had her own issues that we don't even know because she won't 'fess up to anything, and the Christine/Janelle kids want nothing to do with Robyn at all. And nobody wants Meri. The "big picture" is a delusional fantasy that Robyn needs to get over. Robyn even said she "always wanted a relationship with Christine", which implies that there wasn't a relationship to begin with.
  20. Kody doesn't want to be with Christine. Kody's ego just can't handle Christine having the guts to actually leave. I think he gets off on Meri's pathetic clingyness, even though he obviously can't stand her. The real problem in all this is Kody. I actually don't blame Robyn much, except that she's willing to play Favorite Wife and be all meek and sweet while two of her Sister Wives actually stand up for themselves. Kody's anger all stems from the hit he took to his ego. He has no interest in Christine, Janelle, or Meri. It has to be a huge additional burn that Christine is thriving without him. New show, successful MLM businesses, lots of Cameo requests. That's what he's really angry about. He has no interest in sex with Christine, or spending time with Christine. I really wonder if he was ever physically attracted to her in the first place. It's awful that Janelle won't back Christine up in earnest on camera.
  21. Kody has to be out of his mind with rage that Christine is getting a spin off show. That could have been Meri's gig if she played her cards right. Hopefully none of the recipes include Plexus.
  22. Meri advocated for her kid, while Christine and Janelle kept popping out babies and accepting whatever little was offered. Christine said it herself that she let her kids needs come last and didn't advocate for them in the family. That's not Mariah's fault. And we haven't exactly seen Mariah hanging out with Kody lately, so it's hard to know what their relationship status is. When he and Janelle were talking about Gabe's girlfriend maybe moving in, Kody made a comment about everyone abandoning their morals or something. Mariah and Audrey are living together outside of marriage, so who knows how Kody speaks to her these days.
  23. I think they're quite smart to take the pay cut and stay on the air as long as possible. Not only does this "job" require very little actual effort, but all their side efforts (Plexus, Lularoe, etc.) depend on the fan base they get from the show. I've been on Facebook Lives were people are posting that they are buying an over-priced Lularoe outfit just so they can support Christine in her new life. No way would they be making that kind of money doing MLM without the built-in exposure from the show. Christine especially has garnered so much sympathy this season, I bet there are people slurping down Plexus just because they think she needs help with her bills.
  24. No reality "star" would ever agree to a real interview with brutally honest questions. Very few real celebrities would ever agree to that. This is entertainment. Even with the old Barbara Walters interviews, most of the questions were soft ball. I think this interviewer does a good job considering. Its a discussion, not an interrogation. It looks like part 3 doesn't air until next Sunday because of the Super Bowl.
  25. I watched the rest of the episode. I'm really curious about what went on between the wives when Robyn joined the family, as things were alluded to in this episode around bullying and giving Robyn a hard time. It is certainly implied that Christine definitely did not want Robyn around, and I can't figure out what Janelle is talking about when she implies issues between her and Robyn in the past and "trying again" to work on their relationship. I don't remember any problems between Robyn and Janelle on camera during the entire series. They only ever talked about the issues between Janelle and Meri. Robyn's crying is over the top, but I think she has been made into the scapegoat for things that should fall directly on Kody. Did the wives have a say in Kody taking a 4th wife, or did he just announce that's what he was doing?
