NBA Finals start this week and I don’t see any Jimmy Kimmel GameNight on the schedule. I forget if it was still around last year.

I wonder how many people they interviewed knew her name, and what percentage of people knew it vs didn't. I know a lot of people don't pay any attention to politics, but it's kind of depressing to think it's all of them. Surely they just don't show us the ones who do?

I saw his show last night, i guess. Cuz we record him, and don't watch his show until the next night. So my dates are off unless i take the trouble to get them. I think it was the Don Whoreleone show. Heck, I posted the monologue from it. Damn good monologue. He said his writers had to catch up with tRump's verdict the night before. Damn he's good. Thorough, smart, funny as all heck.

I don't remember GameNight, i probably should, sorry. I do remember his antics with the NCAA March Madness, where he just started claiming that Gonzaga is a fake team, and does not exist. JK's man on the street interviews are hilarious. He shows us our own frailties, and our own stupidities, and his own doofieness as well. NOBODY is perfect, and that i think, is the message there. He treats everybody with respect. Look at his friends, i mean Guillermo? I don't like 'em too much, never did, but Jimmy's gotten me to kind of like even him. Or when Jimmy actually has Lindell on his show, and basically gives Lindell respect, in a rather disparaging way, like he can do, like nobody else can do. Yanno, on one of his shows a few years ago, before he died, he said that Paul Reubens (aka Peewee Herman) was one of his top three best friends. One time Jimmy's talkin' to Guillermo about visiting one another, and Jimmy asks Guillermo, "how many times have I been to your house?" Guillermo says, "oh, lots, Jimmy, lots of times." Jimmy then asks, "How many times have you been to my house?" Guillermo: "Never." NOT that he's NOT invited.

Remember that time Jimmy talked about how he built a little guest house for ANYBODY to come visit him? And nobody ever did. Until that one cat, oh shit what's his name...i looked it up, John Mulaney. Mulaney had a little drug addiction problem, calls Jimmy, he was the first person to move in to Jimmy's guest house, and stayed for months, got clean and comes on Jimmy's show and is doing great. :) He says Jimmy'd give him money, check up on him, see if he needed anything, blah da blah. Tears me up right now just writing about it. God bless Jimmy! Oh, and think Mulaney's just funnier'n shit, btw. :)

She was great — especially in contrast to others seen lately. I hope she somehow gets seen and heard by those who don’t watch late night shows. I often just catch the monologues the next day, and that’s mostly because I’m retired now. I still rarely catch daytime talk shows.

No where near as bad as any GOP could be. I wish Biden well, I don't like him that much, really. He's been in politics too damn long. I'm retired too. Can't you record programs that you wanna watch? I have a pretty extensive DVR recording regimen that I follow. I record colbert and kimmel at the same hour, then get the Daily Show on Mondays with Jon Stewart at 1:35 am, because otherwise Spectrum won't allow 3 recordings at the same time. Etc., etc. :)

Belly Island HAHAHA, who saw this on Kimmel's show, I think it was Monday or Tues. Trump responds to question on oceans rising on Fox Weekend and says "It's great, it'll make more shore front property."

Kimmel: "No, it'll be less. Like in your tub and your fat belly stick up like an island, and you clap hands for your servants to bring more water, and the water raises up and covers your Belly Island."

I've wondered about this. I hear Colbert and Seth Meyers frequently blame their writers when a joke is in poor taste or doesn't get a laugh, but that seems to be just them kidding around with the audience.
I read at least one exposé where the article author described the writers' room with, IIRC, a half dozen writers. But I think it was about Colbert. Not sure.
I guess it's a team effort and Jimmy is on the team — and maybe even has final say (not counting the network).

Ye olde DVR is set up to record OTA channels, which don't always broadcast (right now it's a too-many-leaves-on-the-trees issue). 
So I either stream where I have access or, find them on YouTube.
I have access; it's more of a matter of other things on the agenda, or switching to other media sources for a change (like podcasts). Plus, there's so much of it.

On blaming writers, Colbert does it enough so that it is funny, just poking fun at his writers. Meyers does it CONSTANTLY for years, and even has a regular segment, i forget what it's called, where he runs clips of writer's failed jokes. And it's verifiable because he's got so damn many of his relatives and buddies on the show (Cleto and Jimmy have been friends since grade school). So he says he was a perfectly behaved kid, wouldn't cheat on test scores, got good grades, wiki even says he was an alter boy, the whole bit. Then he'd go "Right Cleto?", then the camera'd pan to Cleto, leader of the Cleto and The Cletones) and Cleto'd say, "right, Jimmy." So you just know he's not bullshitting.

I'm kinda obsessed here, huh? 😊 Hey, it's Primetimer.com, we're supposed to post about talk shows. And this thread is about Kimmel, and so...I mean i don't want somebody thinking the wrong thing here. I love 'em, i don't wanna have sex w/him, nor stock him or any bullshit like that.

ALTHO, and this is a big altho: Ever since Jimmy talked about building his guest room that he complains that NOBODY will come and stay at, I have entertained the possibility of contacting him and taking the wife down to Cal and staying there (NOT HAPPENING). But i have talked to my wife about that notion. Again, it's absurd, I am not gonna do it. But boy if i was 10 or 15 years ago, heh, i might have, just to kick ol' Jimmy in da haid one time. I do, i just love the guy. And I'm proud to say it. I posted some comments to him in facebook a time or two, but yanno, i never expected him to read it, let alone reply or anything. The man is busy! Plus he is a damn superstar. Superstars do not meet with 75 year-old men of absolutely no import whatsoever. I don't expect that, it's absurd. I hate fanboys, yet with Kimmel, i am one. I should post a link to this thread in his facebook page. He might see it. Hell, he'd have us all on the show maybe. 🤣. Yanno, btw, the very LAST thing a private guy like me'd want is to be on anybody's fucking TV show, period.

One time a few years ago, i was at a neighbor kid's junior f'ball game, that was televised on some local sports network, and i recorded the game, went home, played it, and there i was, fucking camera showing me for way too long. I'm wearing a sweatsuit hoody, and sunglasses, and damned if i didn't look like the Unibomber, so said my wife. I kept that on my dvr for years before I finally deleted it just last year.

Okay, so I finally viewed the Kamala Harris show tonight. Damn good show. She's just so weird. I mean I like her, but gah, poor gal's just so strange. I mean i have this love/don't like biden/harris kinda thing going on. I will vote for them and will tell everybody i talk to to vote for them this November 5th. It's important to save our democracy and the world for that matter. And I think Biden, as i think i said above, is probably the best damn Pres we've had since Eisenhower. I mean it too! He has really had a rough administration to fill after tRump and all the freakin' wars, and just plain bullshit that's rained down on earth like the freakin' apocalypse. I mean what do we want from a president? Stability or civil freakin' war! And he's managed a million problems in just 3.5 years. Can you imagine what today'd be like if tRump had won?

So God bless Kamala and Joe, pray for them and for our country. Jimmy did a good job, not his best, but a damn well prepped interview. BTW, Jimmy not at his best is probably better than just about anybody else can do with a political figure at their very best. Not Jake Tapper, not Anderson Cooper, not Lester Holt, not anybody else at their best can do what Jimmy can do interviewing ANYBODY.

I don't have streaming capability. I have ethernet (wired), not wifi connection. My theory is wifi is so much more hackable than ethernet is, so that's how i roll. Also i don't have a smart phone, obviously, because i don't have wifi.

You could check to see what your bandwidth speed is, by going to your ISP's web site, type bandwidth speed in it's search and it should lead u to a place to run a check.

His show was great again with sean penn, june squibb (age 94, and bright, funny as heck), and musical group Avett Bros, fabulous song they sang. I never had seen them. He has the best shows, is the best host, bar none.

I am still using my kindle and this is the only site that I have problems with responding to things. So it keeps me from writing more. I'd love to engage more but it's just too frustrati ng.

Umm, have you tried clearing your history in your browser? I forget sometimes and sites will become sticky, and somebody'll tell me to clear history and it fixes it. Also, if you have any adblockers on the Kindle, you might enable primetimer dot com in that adblocker, I dunno.

Jimmy's gone all next week, I have not seen his latest show from last week, so I imagine he announced that he's on his vacation, and will return in a couple months for his last year. :( At least he'll be around for tRump's first year when he gets elected. That is, unless tRump puts a hit on Jimmy.

I also thought the look in Guillermo's eyes was…IDK…maybe a look of deep regret and humiliation on the part of so many? 

Plus, I have about zero tolerance for most any unnecessary or uncalled-for shouting. (Heh, no wonder I worked in libraries for 30 years.)

Is it that Martin Short is such a big name — or at least an institution — that the people in charge of the show don't feel they can give him any suggestions? 

Or maybe the writers are on vacation too and Short had to come up with a script last minute?

His bio on Wikipedia seems to indicate that in private life he is a good guy.

I f'love Only Murders In The Building, but maybe that's because it's an ensemble show?

If he shits on Guillermo, it's because he deserves it. And G doesn't mind anyhow, G doesn't give a shit about anything but that money from the show the last 17 years of his life, and tequila. But i watched the Kimmel show every night for past 10 years, so i'm kinda tuned in.

You're alright, mr. shifter. :) I'm kind of kenless m'self, to be honest. One thing, we miss the Jimmy Kimmel for sure. Katheryn Hahn was terrible my wife and I both thought. I kinda liked that goofy Martin Short, but he's way too much, mostly.

i sure miss me some Jimmy. i never watched Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but this year i started watching it. He's exactly the same, and funny as hell. Great show. It's gotta be all him. I mean writers got to be so much more generic, where you can tell if it's a writer's script or ad lib. Jimmy just comes up with those lines and quips naturally. He was born for this job. I'm gonna go post at WWTBAM. i hope we get a few posts in here, if nothing else about how cool a guy Jimmy is. :)

Some of the guest hosts are so unlikable that I haven't even tried watching their weeks. It's too bad they don't have better people, as there's lots of material that could be covered this summer, but I don't think the people they found to do the job are up to it.

I do NOT like Anthony Anderson, and like his mother even less, tho him less for foisting his repulsive mother on the rest of us. Katherine Hahn, wow she was really bad tho. So was Martin Short, altho i thot some of his antics were kinda stupidly funny. Katherine was the worst. Almost like either they had bad writers for her, or she just kept blowing lines.

I tolerate Anthony's Mamma only because I do mostly like Anthony Anderson. 
If Katherine Hahn or Martin Short improved at all, I did not stick around to see.

Watching Jeff Goldblum's last (4th) night now. 
I watch on Hulu the next day.
Jeff and Guillermo's bonding is so sweet. Sure, they're hamming it up, but mostly it's genuine.
I'm a long-time fan of Goldblum, but @gimmyqueue would not want to watch because Jeff's tics do seem to be getting more pronounced. I'm the same age as Jeff, and also experiencing the altruism aphorism that we never really change, we just become more of whom we are.

Next week is RuPaul,  which makes me think that Kimmel et al. saved the better guest hosts for after the Olympics hiatuses of the other Late Niters. 
If so, that may have been a misguided ratings-aimed choice, because I suspect a lot of viewers just aren't tuning in anymore until after Kimmel returns, although, IMO, if anything could bring the audience back, it would be Jeff Goldblum guest hosting or RuPaul.

This last night of Jeff's was the best, if you only want to watch one on Hulu or YouTube.
Given it took, again, IMO, about a year each for the Jimmys and Stephen to find their late night grooves, I think doing it in 4 nights is pretty amazing.

Do the writers go on vacation every sumer, too? I can't understand why they are bombing so badly, otherwise.

Goldfina, or BlumFina or whatever, kinda grows on one. I always thot he was so weird, just like you said i do. Good observation i must say. But AwkaBlum or whomever they chose to call themselves, kinda played off AwkaGold, and it was the best of JG's week.

I have to say i agree, tho mr. shifter's statement above i found to be true.

edit: shoot, i walked by on my way out for a cig, and saw only the end of ru paul's Kimmel show, and they had a band, Kaleo doing RockinRoll-A, damn good rock band. ABC or Jimmy or somebody sure finds some good musical acts. Guy sounded like some group but i can't place it. Sure had a familiar sound. It's okay to copy another group's style, long as what you do with it is original. It was, pretty good. Lead singer, standing there w/this white, wide brimmed hat, and some kind of white feather boa, w/a great voice, and playin' rhythm, and beltin' out the tunes. :D

I just watch last Friday (Sept. 6) night's show with guests Kumail Nanjiani ("Only Murders in the Building"), U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.).
They were both excellent guests.

I watched a lot of his guest hosts, but did not catch the one with Kumail Nanjiani hosting. I will check and see if it is on demand. I did see him and Swalwell, (darn good show, as usual).

I just caught episode 152 (Wednesday night, post-debate show) on Hulu.
Jimmy's opening monologue was the best post-debate wrap-up I've seen out of the 4 or 5 I've now seen. 
Tight writing with serious-news-quality background.
There was (of course🙄) the one requisite, poor-taste (to this little ol’ gramma👵🏻) segment, but even that had a valid point.

It seems not rushing to air a response resulted in better quality, in part because it included response to others' responses (if that makes sense).

Or was this Kimmel & co.'s second take on the debate?
And maybe the others' did further wrap-ups last night too? 
I haven't seen them yet.

Jimmy had Magic Johnson on his show last night & Magic finally invited him on a "cruise" with him & Samuel J. Jackson.  I thought Jimmy was going to burst into tears because he's been begging to be invited for years.  Funny!!

Finally. I have it on DVR but yet to view it. FINALLY, tho. And i don't think Magic and his bros do NOT allow many who aren't in their same status on that boat. I hope Jimmy gets to go. I love me some Jimmy, fo' sho' and ain't afraid to admit i'm a Jimmy fan boy. And i do not like fan boys. He's simply the very best ever.
