Yes, the anthology format saves their hide somewhat.

What I hated about Freak Show was how lazy it got, it's not enough just to put circus freaks on the screen . Ryan and Company pour on the gore for shock effect, but there's very little actual horror or suspense at all.

Amber won Best Actress in a Musical at the Oliviers. Well deserved I've not heard anything but wonderful things.  I'm sure it'll be the Tony's next year.

Consistent television and stage work is nothing to sneeze at.  Those that have been fortunate to land those roles (Lea, Grant, Melissa, Harry on TV, and Amber and Matt on Broadway/West End) pretty awe

Why would someone start something just to hate watch it, makes no sense.

 

I like the first 3 seasons of AHS well enough, 1 and 2 were better than 3 imo.    I lost interest in Freak Show so I recorded it and ran through the last few episodes in like 20 minutes.   No need to sit around and waste time and then go hate on it online.

I didn't even find it very gory just sloppy.  Hum lets just make

everyone a killer.

It looks like NBC is finally getting the casting right for these live musicals. They hired a talented young unknown stage actress for Dorothy and have surrounded her with talented veteran name performers. Even gave a role to the original Broadway Dorothy, Stephanie Mills.

If any Glee performer can handle LIVE singing and sound gorgeous it's the Amber Riley. That voice.

Can't wait to see it.

So excited for Amber! I think this will be a great showcase for her!

The producers have some really nice things to say.

 

I agree it looks like this live production might be the one NBC gets right. The Dorothy is a fresh new face, yet does have some solid theater background. And the supporting cast is pretty top shelf. Especially Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige, not to mention the original Dorothy, Stephanie Mills. If nothing else I think the music and live performance for this one will be on point.

Granted the BW opening ( with 30 million dollar advance sales! )of the musical "Hamilton" is getting rave reviews for everything (Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, the contemporary songs, the supporting cast including Leslie Odom Jr., etc) but Jonathan Groff is getting his share of accolades as the petulant, jilted (by the colonies) George III.

For those that like that kind of thing Scream Queens season pass is available on iTunes with an inside look from Ryan Murphy, Lea Michele and someone else (can't remember who).

Lea has an upcoming series,(with at least some good premiere buzz),  an album and a book being released, as well as her usual magazine covers, etc.

 

While Glee wrapped up in shooting in late February, after only 8 months I think it's fair to say most of the cast has been able to land different gigs and keep their careers going, at least enough to pays the utility bills.   Lea, Chris, Matt, Jayma, Jane, Dianna, Darren, Amber, Harry, Mark, Naya, Kevin and Heather  among the regular cast have had a myriad of projects ranging  from acting, singing and writing or announced upcoming ones.  Season 4 cast   Blake, Mellisa, Jacob, Becca and Alex have things going on , as well as the Season 6 cast.

 

So speculation  of the demise of the Glee cast (so far) have been overblown.  Now none of  them may ever again get the red hot buzz worthy spotlight like Glee gave them, but it doesn't mean they can't do nicely for themselves.   Hardly a surprise that Matt Morrison,  Jane Lynch and Jayma Mays all have steady work (Jayma has an upcoming Tom Cruise movie ) since as "veterans"  they'd worked up a good resume pre-Glee.

Poor Jenna forgotten again but she is paying her bills with some voice work in Captain Under pant with no other than   Naya's husband.

If rumours are true Jenna may have the biggest project of the lot. But I'm too superstitious to actually say what it is, so if you don't know Google is your friend!

 

I think the rumors on that film are just extremely wishful thinking at this point.  It's still in very early stages.

Hahaha Darren is continuing his staring role  as MC of  Fox videos (if it has anything to do with him not).

 

Lea is seen only for a few sec, not even interviewed. 

 

I guess we can retire in hindsight the argument that he hogged the promos and bts's during the final Glee season because both FOX and RM were checked out of the show, other cast weren't available or willing, so Mia took the easy way out and did her job with minimal effort and no planning.

Why her bosses at Fox allow this I don't know.

 

I don't  see Ryan having much to do with this tbh.  Maybe some asst producer gives the ok for the BTS but not Ryan and not these event videos.

Let me guess , Ms. Mia "Professional" Swirren has something to do with the BTS videos/PR of "Scream Queens".

I know she did the at least some of BTS stuff like the character series they did that had each cast member talk about their character.

Could be. I mentioned him because he and Fox are in no way checked out right now, which was the gist of the reasoning before. The show's actors can't be blamed now either.

Lea's not the star, no-one except her most devoted fans will care. 

 

I honestly think Darren gets this kid of thing because, he'll do it. I suspect he'll drop everything to keep in favour. 

 

Isn't he in that other show RM does?

1) Lea's the Glee actor in SQ, and has a very large fanbase, he isn't involved with the show at all. 2) How do we know that say, Nick Jonas, won't - like i said, the thinking that no other actor would be game should be retired. 3) Matt Bomer, who's a regular on Ryan's other show unlike Darren, was also there.

I'm not blaming other actors, I'm just not up for blaming a woman we know nothing about. It's the men in charge who have done this, not Darren's girlfriend, and people should get off her back.

I mentioned her only in reference to other people's arguments in the past, and don't think she runs a cabal. However, we know full well she is the producer of this content, both for Glee and SQ. A person in her position isn't some mindless cog following a script written by VERY BAD MEN lol.

Maybe Lea wasn't up to a red carpet interview.

And maybe pigs fly.

It's even more egregious this time because Darren has nothing to do with Scream Queens in any professsional capacity.

I'm amused the woman in charge of BTS and promo stuff for Scream Queens isn't accountable for this content if her boyfriend pops up because we don't' "know her".
