legaleagle53 December 22, 2014 Share December 22, 2014 And it's only got a four-week run? You just know people will be begging for more if it's as cheesily camp as it promises to be! 1 Link to comment
Rick Kitchen December 22, 2014 Share December 22, 2014 The problem is that with a four week run, they can put all of their quality into those four episodes, but if they expand it, it could lose the quality. Link to comment
legaleagle53 December 22, 2014 Share December 22, 2014 Yeah, that's a problem. Unless it's clear from the get-go that this is a one-and-done, they're screwed if the show becomes too popular, if you know what I mean. Link to comment
kassygreene December 23, 2014 Share December 23, 2014 It's a four week run, but it's 8 half-hour episodes. It's ABC, they are running it Sunday nights before the February sweeps, and they are doubling up. Hopefully they will run the whole thing as scheduled. The Assets last year got scheduled, yanked, and re-scheduled twice, an 8 episode series with the last four episodes being burned up two at a time on each of two August Sunday afternoons, seven and a half months after the premiere. SyFy just burned off a six hour miniseries that was supposed to be the next BSG in three consecutive nights, in December. Doubling up is usually a bad sign. However, the promos for this, and the guest line up, and every rune I can find indicates a good, funny series. It has much better optics then Selfie, which turned out to be a really good series about three minutes after it was cancelled. Fifty-fifty Galavant runs the course as currently scheduled. Bruinsfan December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 If they pull it from the schedule before it's done, I will start a riot. It looks like it will be either fantastic or gloriously awful, and either would be entertaining. 2 Link to comment
ParadoxLost January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 I'm watching the 'Making of' special and now I'm really looking forward to this show. Timothy Omundson seems awesome as expected. Joshua Sasse is very charismatic and funny. We are going to need a quotes thread. Seriously, any show that puts the gag reel in the 'making of' special has won me over before the first episode. 1 Link to comment
formerlyfreedom January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 Just finished watching the "Making of" special, and this show is SERIOUSLY my jam. I CANNOT WAIT! 1 Link to comment
Gregg247 January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 I'll give this one a shot. I used to like "When Things Were Rotten", the Mel Brooks sitcom about Robin Hood, back in the 70's, so this may be a throw-back to that silliness. It's too bad that they're doubling up episodes, though. Either ABC couldn't figure out what show to pair with it, or they just don't have faith in the premise itself. Link to comment
JennB January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 (edited) Will my love for Timothy Omundson outweigh my dislike for Ricky Gervais? Edited January 2, 2015 by JennB 1 Link to comment
attica January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 My love for Vinnie Jones outweighs many, many things. 1 Link to comment
Hanahope January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 I'm disappointed to hear that most of the singing isn't that good and echo the thought that with so many decent singers out there, there's gotta be some with acting talent as well. Link to comment
TJtrack99 January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 I'm in for Timothy Omundson (with a beard!), Vinnie Jones, and Weird Al. If it's even a little bit like Men in Tights and/or Monty Python, I'll be satisfied. 1 Link to comment
KDeFlane January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 (edited) To the common list of comparisons: Monty Python / Holy Grail / Spamalot Princess Bride Robin Hood: Men in Tights / When Things Were Rotten I hope people someday remember to add: Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire(well, it had no singing, but I liked it.) beadgirl January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 I'm ridiculously excited about this show, especially because I plan to watch with Beadboy2 who loves both silliness and knights in shining armor. Both The Princess Bride and Monty Python's Holy Grail are staples in our house (to which I must add Robin Hood: Men in Tights, I just realized). Link to comment
Kromm January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 It's too bad that they're doubling up episodes, though. Either ABC couldn't figure out what show to pair with it, or they just don't have faith in the premise itself. I could understand the first two being doubled. But are they ALL being doubled? Jeez. If so, that's practically the kiss of death for a show. Link to comment
Rick Kitchen January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 It's 8 half hour shows that are going to run for four weeks, how else do you expect them to be shown if they aren't doubled up? Link to comment

A choice was made to get the show out of the way within a single month. The show certainly wasn't produced with "being off the air within a month" in mind. Link to comment
DittyDotDot January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 Isn't it supposed to be like a mini-series--one and done? Link to comment
whack-a-mole January 3, 2015 Share January 3, 2015 I'll give it a shot. Seems plausible given the people involved. I'll be good if it lands somewhere above Smash. Link to comment

Eight is not a normal mid season order. I assume they rethought scheduling during filming since they have this scheduled to avoid Feb sweeps. Link to comment
