I was open to either. I'm not totally sold on the casting myself and this is the kind of show where the chemistry makes or breaks it for me. I'm willing to give it a chance because I like sci-fi on my tv. And it will be a change from the comic book shows. 3 Link to comment
shapeshifter May 17, 2018 Share May 17, 2018 Ditto ^^ @tessaray! BTW, your screen name isn't in reference to, you know who, is it? And totally an aside: Everytime I see your avatar it reminds me of the paint by number version of that portrait my sister had in her bedroom. So it doesn't look like there will be any casting throwbacks like with Richard Hatch on the reimagined Battlestar Gallactica. 1 Link to comment
paulvdb May 17, 2018 Share May 17, 2018 Didn't Richard Hatch only join later in the series? So there is still time for someone from the old show to join later in the series. 1 Link to comment

But, yeah, it could still happen. Maybe Bill Sadler can be somebody's Gramps. 1 Link to comment

Ditto with the avatar, I was taking an art history class and spending tons of time on museum websites. If the producers were smart, they would work some cameos in to woo the fans of the original series. Old Max as a cop alongside new Max would be fun. 3 Link to comment

Bobcatkitten May 23, 2018 Share May 23, 2018 I'm not sure I like the setup - just erasing the entire first series like it didn't happen puts a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure they can cast another Liz and Max like they did the first time. 1 Link to comment
tessaray May 23, 2018 Share May 23, 2018 I'm hoping they did lots of chem testing with the leads, because I agree Liz and Max are crucial. It sounds like this version is going to be more X-Files-ish though, which could work out okay. 3 Link to comment
shapeshifter May 26, 2018 Share May 26, 2018 (edited) So it seems this Liz is a "biomedical researcher" (https://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/roswell-new-mexico-cw-reboot-to-launch-midseason-on-the-cw/ ). Edited May 26, 2018 by shapeshifter Link to comment

shapeshifter May 27, 2018 Share May 27, 2018 (edited) From TV Guide, which "is owned by CBS, one of The CW's parent companies," FWIW: http://www.tvguide.com/news/cw-roswell-new-mexico-reboot/ It's not clear to me if lead actor Jeanine Mason is saying she will be wearing a Crashdown waitress uniform or if someone else will be. Is she saying Liz Ortecho will be working as a waitress at the Crashdown? And, yes: On May 25, 2018 at 10:10 PM, tessaray said: They really need some new photos for these reboot articles. This picture from the official Twitter page seems like it might have been tweaked to make the male lead, Nathan Parsons, resemble Jason Behr, but I'm not familiar with NP (https://mobile.twitter.com/CWRoswellNM/status/997154034845806592/photo/1 ): Edited May 27, 2018 by shapeshifter 2 Link to comment
tessaray May 27, 2018 Share May 27, 2018 I'm not into vampire stuff but my first experience with NP was on GH, where he played Luke Spencer's son Ethan. He could be charming but also had a terrible tendency to be smug and smirk-y. Hopefully he's outgrown the worst of it. I wasn't impressed with his recent turn on Once Upon a Time either but all things considered, don't really blame him for that. :-) The video clip had me slightly encouraged, the two at least seem to have a decent rapport. 1 Link to comment
tessaray July 8, 2018 Share July 8, 2018 It's been filming, if you go by Twitter. And they were at SDCC, so I'm surprised we haven't heard much. Link to comment
Chas411 July 8, 2018 Share July 8, 2018 That was in March though which was when they shot the pilot. Link to comment
tessaray July 9, 2018 Share July 9, 2018 True. Still, with a 2019 debut I imagine they will be starting soon if they aren't already. Link to comment

Chas411 July 13, 2018 Share July 13, 2018 Not really - most of the shows that are premiering end of September aren't even back yet. I think it's usually the last week in July most networks go back to work. Link to comment
tessaray July 13, 2018 Share July 13, 2018 I'm a little curious if there will be many special effects or CGI. That can have an effect on scheduling too. (Of course, I'd rather they didn't if they can't do them well.) Link to comment

God, I really hated that storyline, so it’s going to take some doing for me to forget how much his character sucked and represented everything I hated about GH back then. I was always more of a Michael and Maria fan way back when, so I’m really hoping they get those characters right. 1 Link to comment
Chas411 July 22, 2018 Share July 22, 2018 We didn't l even see Heather Hemmons in the trailer as Maria which sucked as I was hoping to see a glimpse of her and Michael together. I wonder are they going to go the Michael/Maria route or are they going to put their own mark on it and go a completely different direction like make one of the gay or something... Link to comment
starri July 22, 2018 Share July 22, 2018 It looks like Alex is the gay one. The weird thing is, from some of the early descriptions that came out, I almost thought he and Michael were supposed to be a couple, although they didn't come out and say that. Link to comment
Chas411 July 22, 2018 Share July 22, 2018 Oh my god I thought this too... I got that vibe from the trailer. If I'm honest I'm kind of disappointed as I loved Michael/Maria.. 1 Link to comment

I cannot get over how much someone who was THAT close to a Julia Roberts 1990's level career could screw it up that badly purely for being a bitch. This was awhile back, but Brendan Fehr and Majandra Delfino did a concept pitch for "Baron and Toluca", a show they called a spiritual successful for Roswell. It focused on two exe's who take a trip out in the desert and some paranormal elements happen. There's a Change.org petition running around for it, but yeah, I'm not really sure how this would have worked. Even if you changed the names and took out the alien element, I still feel like they could be sued for copyright infringement if Netflix had given this the go-ahead, especially with OG Roswell running on Hulu and Disney being insane. 3 Link to comment
