I can't find the Canadian show on Netflix, just the British versions.

Sorry - thought you were asking about where to watch GBBO.

We watched every episode of the Canadian show except #5 (couldn't find it) on youtube.

If you are in Canada, the first 12 seasons are on Gem.

Thank you!   I checked again, and could only find The Great British Baking Show, but Google informed me it's the same show as The Great British Bakeoff.

I just finished watching on GEM.  Did anyone else watch this season?

Totally did! Just forgot to post on here.

I love the judges and contestants but am annoyed by Alan and Ann.  Stop asking frantic bakers idiotic questions like, "do you think you're going to finish?" followed by something they think is funny while the poor baker tries to remain focused and complete their tasks.

It makes me want to punch them repeatedly on the contestants behalf.

I find them ok. They seem to act off each other more than the contestants. Noel on GBBO is really bad at annoying the bakers at the wrong time.

I forget which baker it was last night -- they were working frantically and getting cutesy questions from Alan.  Sir, this is not the time.

I had a feeling the wintergreen buns wouldn't go over well.  I like wintergreen and I like buns, but together it just didn't sound good.

It's interesting to me that baking shows on the Food Network emphasize texture in cakes -- every bake has to have some sort of crunch layer and potentially a curd or jelly or ganache.  Many of us who frequent the boards for those shows say that we've never even had cakes like that.  So The Great Canadian Baking Show is a relief of sorts, to not have to hear the constant harping on texture.  To my mind, a good cake's texture comes from the quality of the crumb, not the number of different flavors/textures you can stuff into it.
