Derbarbarian October 26, 2017 Share October 26, 2017 Hey guys, I just started watching Episode 5 (Home) and the actor who's playing the adopted father of the child that they found in the shed looks really really familiar but I can't for the life of me remember where I've seen him, I tried looking at the credits for the episode on IMDB but he wasn't listed on there, does anyone know what his name is? or the other shows he's been on? FnkyChkn34 October 26, 2017 Share October 26, 2017 I don't see a thread for the newest episode, so I hope it's ok that I start one. IMO, this episode was much better than the first episodes of this season - less political and more about solving the crime, and the acting was good again. And of course, I love me some more Atwater. Now I just fear that he'll be put on the backburner again and we'll never learn what happened to his parents. Does anyone else miss Halstead too, or is that just me? I'm also glad that Antonio isn't a spy, though that could have been a good longer story arc for the season. Maybe it's not done yet... 1 Link to comment
UNOSEZ October 26, 2017 Share October 26, 2017 Kevin and Burgess are so awesome as platonic life partners... Too bad the kids had to go.. But it made sense... I like that Voight was checking up on Kev... I think he's taken him under his wing a bit.. The characters bounce off each other well 3 Link to comment
Derbarbarian October 26, 2017 Author Share October 26, 2017 I thought it was the guy from Murder in the First (Curry Graham) from the start, but I pulled up a few pictures of him and they looked completely different, must've been old pictures of him or I'm just terrible at recognizing faces lol.. Regardless thanks for the quick response! Link to comment
milner October 26, 2017 Share October 26, 2017 Couldn't Atwater have found another place for them to live? It seems he is in a really bad area. I know he is the sole provider so money may be tight but surely finding new housing is better than sending the kids away? Link to comment

Probably, but you also run the risk of them sneaking /going back to the old neighborhood to visit friends and something happens. There have been real incidents here (Chicago) where parents have moved from an unsafe area to a better one in the city or burbs only to have their kids go back to visit the old area and get killed in a drive-by just sitting on a friend's porch. It's even worse for Kev's kids because they do have a target on their backs Sending them to TX insurers the won't go to old hangouts Edited October 26, 2017 by sheetmoss 3 Link to comment
MakeMeLaugh October 26, 2017 Share October 26, 2017 Yes, things are tough in Chicago for kids like Atwater's little brother. This was a good move and will actually open the character's storylines up vs having to be the single parent to his siblings--perhaps a young woman would enjoy being enveloped in those strong guns he's sporting against those exceptional pecs.... <Fanning of my gently perspiring face ensues> I like Burgess so much more now that she's not the dewy young special snowflake. Dawson is finally being who he should have been from season 1--the foil to Voight. 2 Link to comment
spunky October 27, 2017 Share October 27, 2017 It's sad that the kids had to go, especially since we never found out why Kevin had them in the first place. Hopefully now Kevin can have more character development. I liked Voight checking up on Kev, he seems to have a soft spot for him and is trying to mentor him. I like Kev and Kim's friendship, but once again no back story. Upton is so bland compared to everyone else, maybe I just need to get used to her. 2 Link to comment
watcher1006 October 29, 2017 Share October 29, 2017 I liked Atwater in this one and how we were reminded of his situation and the tough choices he faces. Also when he is coupled with Burgess it brings her level up. There is of course the nostalgia element harking back to the early days of the show when they were partners. I gave up watching the NBC show Revolution in large part because of Tracy Spiridakos. My impression of the first season was that the show was originally supposed to revolve around her, cashing in on the then current Hunger Games craze, but she wasn't a good enough actress to carry the role and it evolved toward being more about the Billy Burke character. But that's just my theory. I find her presence on this show annoying. 2 Link to comment

Alvin is constantly benched or mumbling off in the wind...Dawson is back but he's just not that compelling... Ruzek is cool.. Kinda all over the place.. But his character has places it can go... IMA big Burgess fan.. She's smart and caring but not a sap... The new girl is still the new girl.. Maybe she'll become noteworthy but for now she's in the kinda here as a replacement Erin zone... So more Voight.. More Atwater and Burgess... They're like awesome siblings who aren't related(show don't ever take them down a road) 1 Link to comment

AnnA September 9, 2019 Share September 9, 2019 I'm new to Chicago PD and this forum. I had been watching reruns for a while and liked it so I just binge watched all of last season on demand. Now I'm really looking forward to the new season. There's one comment on the cast I have to make and it may not be a popular one........I'm really glad Sophia Bush is gone and I doubt I'll miss Jon Seda either. 2 Link to comment
