DesiJF July 9, 2017 Share July 9, 2017 (edited) I vaguely remember playing the game way back in the day. I can't remember if I ever beat it though. Just got done watching the 1st season. It started kinda slow but once he met the Speakers I thought it picked up. Can't go wrong listening to Richard Armitage for a couple of hours though. Looking forward to Season 2 which will hopefully be longer than 4 episodes (WTH?). I was kinda surprised by all the profanity. Not something I'm used to hearing in an animated program but given the subject matter it wasn't out of place. Some of the stuff Trevor said was hilarious. ali59 July 13, 2017 Share July 13, 2017 I've never heard of Castlevania before but how can I resist Richard Armitage and Graham McTavish. Watched the whole first season and I think I'm hooked. I would love more of the story of Dracula and Lisa. 1 Link to comment
Morrigan2575 January 5, 2018 Share January 5, 2018 I saw Jeremy Jahns review a few months back and, finally had a chance to watch. I played the game decades ago and really enjoyed the animated series. I was surprised by the cursing but, it worked. Looking forward to S2. 1 Link to comment
Morrigan2575 July 30, 2018 Share July 30, 2018 That looks awesome! And just in time for Halloween! I hope its longer than 4 episodes, I need at least 6 preferably 8-10. 1 Link to comment

We're getting eight episodes this season. Agree that last season was too short - it felt more like a prologue than a season 1. 1 Link to comment

Morrigan2575 October 27, 2018 Share October 27, 2018 (edited) Dracula's generals gather to prosecute the war against humanity. There is discord when Dracula's human allies, Hector and Isaac, are given command of the armies of the night. Edited October 27, 2018 by Morrigan2575 1 Link to comment
laprin November 4, 2018 Share November 4, 2018 Just binged Season 2 and it was even better than the first season. The addition of Isaac and Hector adds some additional layers to the human/vampire dynamic and Camilla is a great new villian. I really found myself torn between Dracula and his foes because I could sympathize with the motivations of each side. Already looking forward to Season 3. 3 Link to comment
rove4 November 11, 2018 Share November 11, 2018 I enjoyed this season too. The extra episodes definitely helped give the story and characters a more fleshed out feel. That said, I don't really sympathize with Dracula. What happened to his wife was awful and if he'd limited his revenge to those in the corrupt church then that would've been understandable and I could even root for that. Slaughtering entire villages full of people who had nothing to do with it, including babies who weren't even born at the time it happened? Not so much. All I can think is how Lisa could've married this monster in the first place. I can't even sympathize with Isaac because he's basically a fanatic, a sheep who doesn't question anything about the cult leader. Hector at least shows signs of growth and maybe redemption...though if he's willing to have the human race culled just because people from his childhood freaked out over his zombie pets then his reasoning is kind of lame. Camilla was entertaining. I was rooting for her to overthrow Dracula. I felt badly for Alucard sitting in that old castle all alone, crying. Link to comment
Morrigan2575 December 26, 2018 Share December 26, 2018 Are enjoyed this season, loved the politics inside the castle. Hated Vanilla and want her destroyed next season. I don't feel sorry for Hector he was very dumb, maybe he'll wake up and turn on her. Issac is going to be a very scary force next season. He's devoted and Fanatical which makes for a very scary villain. I was surprised at how much I felt for Dracula but, it was kind of obvious that he just wanted to die...wipe out the human race first but definitely wanted to die after. I was shocked they ended Dracula so quickly, I expected more fighting and a constitution until next season. I don't think Camilla will make for a good follow up villain to Dracula. I felt horrible for Alucard sitting alone in the castle with the ghosts of his family in happier times. He needs his besties back ASAP! 1 Link to comment

Matt K March 25, 2020 Share March 25, 2020 I didn't care as much for the third season. It was still really good but Alucard's story line was really bad. Alucard's story itself was very slight which would be fine if it was only a tiny part of the series (like a quick check-in here and there). Also, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop with his student and it took forever and was kind of arbitrary (I was thinking they were there to learn enough to set themselves up as warlords or something). That said, Sypha and Trevor's story was really well done (and the twist at the end with the Judge was nuts). Isaac's was really good too (plus we got Legion and it was really well done) but kind of just stopped at the end of the season. Hector's was interesting as well despite it being kind of obvious where it was going and it had a nice twist of Lenore actually sort of caring for Hector in her own way. Looking forward to next season but if they don't really have anything for Alucard to do, then I hope they just take a break until he can be more of a participant in the ongoing action. Morrigan2575 March 30, 2020 Share March 30, 2020 I liked parts of this season. Some of the character interaction and journy's were interesting but, it fills like S3 was just filler. We have Sypha/Trever doing a side quest and the rest not doing much until the final 2 episodes. I always knew something was off with the Twins but, had a weird feeling they were Alucard's imagination. I kept thinking Alucard was in another timeline many years in the future. I liked the Vampire Sisterhood and Lenore ended up being the most interesting. Speaking of, I kept waiting for Lenore's Ring to be the One Ring to Rule Them All 😁 On a total side note, i can't believe it took until S3 for me to get Alucard = Dracula backwards 😔 Link to comment

Morrigan2575 May 13, 2021 Share May 13, 2021 S4 Trailer. I really hope the Trio reunites. I think S2 suffered by keeping them in different storylines...especially Alucard. Link to comment
Morrigan2575 May 25, 2021 Share May 25, 2021 (edited) Well S4 is over and I am sad. Such a great show and what a perfect ending to the story. I love my Trio, one of the things I hated about S3 was the season long split up. Well that and the awful storyline they gave Alucard. S4 was beautiful to look at, tied up all S3 plot points and gave a satisfactory ending to all the characters except.. Spoiler Lenore. I was sad with how her story ended. I liked her but, at least she determined her own fate. Edited May 27, 2021 by Morrigan2575 3 Link to comment
tennisgurl May 27, 2021 Share May 27, 2021 I am sad that this was the last season, but I thought this was a really good ending. All of the characters got satisfactory endings that seemed true to their characters, it brought a lot of subplots all together, and had tons of great action and animation, especially towards the end. I liked a lot about season three, but I thought it was the weakest of the seasons by far, so I am really glad that they came back to form for the last season. Last season ended on such a downer, and really weird downers too, with every subplots ending on twists that were so ridiculously dark that they seemed like parody's of dark and edgy fantasy series then actual story beats, plus they were all so disconnected they all seemed to almost be different shows. So we get Alucard and the creepy twins, Trevor and Sypha fight and a cult and the bad guys from Hot Fuzz, Isaacs and the road trip of the damned, and Hector and the almost literal torture porn, it was just so MUCH. Luckily this season brought everything more or less together and gave the good guys some much deserved wins, with Isaac even finally deciding to use his powers for good and Isaac turning the tables on the vampires (and turns out Lenore actually did like him) and also deciding to use his knowledge for good, Alucard finding a cool new love interest and a community and being reunited with Trevor and Sypha who are now having a kid together at Trevor's childhood home, and even Dracula and Lisa getting a second chance. I was especially glad to see Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard together again, they had been apart for way too long, their dynamic is one of the best parts of the show. Saint Germain, you idiot. Have things ever gone well for the guy proclaiming himself to be a god while cackling over your evil plan almost coming to fruition? At least he saved Trevor at the end. 2 Link to comment

festivus June 13, 2021 Share June 13, 2021 I'm so sad this show is over, l love it. Glad there is going to be a spinoff. I'd love it if my favorite character Adrian shows up on it. I really wish could have gotten more of him and Greta, I was digging it. I find this show just about darn near perfect. The animation and voice acting are tops. So many great actors. My favorite thing this season was the talk between Issac and Flyeyes. He had such a great arc. 1 Link to comment
TaurusRose June 29, 2021 Share June 29, 2021 I cannot believe how much I love this show. I stumbled onto it earlier this year, binge watched and thought Season 4 was to die for. Just wow! That is all. 😎 Link to comment
baldryanr October 6, 2023 Share October 6, 2023 Richter probably wishes he had inherited the morning star whip instead of the old leather one. Maybe he'll grab it in season 2, just like Trevor. He can snag the boomerang too. Link to comment
tennisgurl October 19, 2023 Share October 19, 2023 I wasn't sure what a spin-off of the first show would be like, but I liked this a lot. The new villain isn't as memorable as Dracula and his crew, but I like the new cast and setting. Plus, Alucard! Awesome! Link to comment
Morrigan2575 November 6, 2023 Share November 6, 2023 Hmm, well it was beautiful but, I had some issues. While I enjoyed Maria/Richter sibling relationship I found Maria on the whole annoying and her power set was dumb. Granted she's young so maybe she can grow in power. I really liked Tara and I'm fascinated by what she will become vampire wise. Somehow I don't see her getting chummy with the woman/Vampire that wanted to hurt Maria. I rather liked Olrox, I'm curious to see what he's all about. Currently an anti-hero or morally gray character. I hated Richter 's design and yes I get it's game accurate but, I still hated it. I also hated Alucard's look I wish he was more like the first series. Hopefully we get more Juste and, not just because he's voiced by Iain Glen. I honestly have no idea what was going on with the bad ladies. They're not strictly vampires seem to be some Demon in there. It's a little confusing because I thought in this universe all Vampires were created by Dracula. Link to comment
