If Jimmy goes down alone, this would work.  I think this was played about Walt once, but I’m not sure.

Sid Vicious did this one not long before he died. . .

My finale prediction is that it will end for Jimmy McGill in a court room where it began but with him as defendant and with Kim Wexler  being called to the witness stand by the prosecutor and the end will have the camera on her telling the world (and her boyfriend who is sitting in back) that Jimmy is the only man she ever loved, she HATED Saul Goodman and Gene Takovic was what everyone,  Chuck,  Howard,  everyone,  feared he would become.  The camera would focus on both Kim and Jimmy like they are the only two people in the courtroom like it is some romantic scene.     And in the end Kim will have the last and final word on Jimmy/Saul/Gene and leave the audience to make final judgment like we are the jury in the case.

I read a fans basic prediction that seems to make sense. The three main characters in the entire BCS/BB universe are Walt, Jessie & Saul.

Walt- Dead

Jessie- Got Away

Saul- Prison

This way each one has his own different ending to the series...

And someone posted this.  An anthology of shots to "My Way".

Walt's greatest weapon (tool) was his intellect.

He used it at the end to do what he felt was right.

Jimmy's most effective tools (weapons) are his ability to speak AND his ability to scheme.

I suspect he will scheme his way to what he thinks is just. He knows what is right and wrong. It is just buried under his cockroach costume.

If he sheds that, he will do what is morally right. Perhaps to his own sad end.

If he simply escapes to sit on a real beach in Belize, it will not be a feel-good ending.

He's got to sacrifice himself for what is right. Otherwise his appeal as the goofy, seat of the pants, relatively harmless schemer, the one wearing tights and a Britney Spears mike, will be destroyed. The guy who took care of his domineering brother will be without merit.

G&G have made bad people somehow appealing. If Jimmy skates away, it will change how we see the entire show.

(It is early, the coffee has not kicked in, I have tremendous hemispherical jet lag, I've been in a Point Nemo type of dead zone, and my thought are not at their best. Neither is my typing. I hope the above was sort of lucid.)

Regardless of his crimes, I’d prefer Jimmy escape.  I’m not sure why.  Prison would do him no good, but he might be able to help give inmates tips on their appeals.  He’d probably get into trouble for practicing law in prison without a license. Lol

I have mixed emotions. There was a Grisham novel where the old turds in prison got a scam going blackmailing people.

They got released but had to promise not to do it again. Within a short time they had started doing it once more. The dopey, silly, wise cracking mall walkers couldn’t help themselves.
It felt good that they were doing their thing again.

Jimmy is kind of like them. I DO kind of wish he COULD sit on a beach, picking out fat buffaloes at the watering hole.

It would be wrong, against justice, etc.

But I’m not a nice person so I hope he escapes. Kim too.

—————-

also, Walt’s sacrifice was diminished in its value to some degree in that he was going to die anyhow, he just kind of speeded up the process.

Jimmy has, as far as we know, many years to look forward to enjoying. Unless the G&G crew cook up some nasty quick-acting disease for him.

People forgive likable people.

It is the halo effect. If someone does good, they can do no wrong. At least to some people.

JFK, MLK, FDR, Bill Clinton…..all womanizers. And yet, because of the things they did that people liked, they are forgiven.

Certainly not analogous to Jimmy either in stature or sins, but it is the likability factor I’m addressing.

My analogies rarely make sense. Much like the toad who ate too many crickets, the dishwasher never overheats in December.

Exactly this. I’m hoping that she went back to Florida and quit her banal job and kicked her dimwitted lunk of a boyfriend to the curb. Continuing to punish herself that way doesn’t help anyone.

Those would be ok if they didn’t put gallons of salt in the sauce. 🙂

Indeed she could. But I doubt she would ever choose to eat there again when better options are available. That goes for almost everything in her sad FloriDUH life, lol.

I agree. I feel like a barrel of pickled sphincters the next day, but they're good.

EVERYthing in OUTBACK is salty.

The sauce is tasty but the excessive salt ruins it, imo. Why do restaurants do this?

We Americans wouldn't recognize food without excessive salt or sugar.

Not true, lol. My rule is always to err on the side of less salt. People can always add more if they wish. Too much and the food is just ruined.

My in-laws put Lot's wife on every dish.

They may be trying to kill me slowly.

Every time we eat over there I have to drink a gallon of water to flush that mess out.

I'm with you, less is better.

Food actually tastes good if one is not bathing in salt, sugar, and all that other junk.

Despite spoilers, I think this would be an excellent “Kim” song, especially second verse…..”I don’t want no enemies, I don’t want nothing if I have to fake it,  everything paid for, nothings free, ….money can’t replace it, no memory can replace it,….I think I lost it, ……..very prophetic.

Great song.

Saturday Night Live predicted Gene will die at age 50, which is his current age in-show.  They even used an appropriate song.

Kim will have to settle for that since she never went to Los Pollos Hermanos, either for the chicken or for their curly fries!

I’d like Kim to snap out of her self imposed purgatory and re-embrace her tough, capable, smart, independent, authentic self. Including (and especially) her wonderful, snarky dry sense of humor. Even if she ends up in jail for a stint, she could be a great teacher there and assist other inmates with their appeals and other issues. Anything would be better than her depressing life in Florida. This is the song I’d assign to her (one of my all time favorites). Also the theme song of another of the best shows ever, “Freaks and Geeks.”

I can’t believe this is over 20 years old! It’s still hilarious to me and always will be. I watched it multiple times during the pandemic “lockdown” and it helped make everything better.

I thought of new ending. I cannot imagine they would do it because it's political in nature. Given that, I'm putting the final scene in spoiler tags

The final three scenes

2010: Saul is arrested

2012: After being found guilty, Saul is sentenced to federal prison for 25-30 years, or more

Spoiler

2017: Saul is released from prison after the newly inaugurated President, a former client, pardons Saul

Jimmy finds Kim, in Florida or ABQ, wherever, hands her the diamonds, then dashes through the desert to his Esteem. While digging underneath, he is about to clutch the gunny sack full of cash and freedom when the sands shift and he is crushed to death. Only his legs stick out like the Wicked Witch of the East.

Aannnnd CUT!

I don't know if this counts as speculation, but I had a dream last night that Kim and Jimmy were running another scam, something having to do with "losing" a man's ring in the desert and evading the cops at the last second. Later, Jimmy does...something (minor compared to what they've done in the past) at work that gets Kim's hackles up. She reports him to the dean at the college where Jimmy teaches (???) accusing him of professional misconduct. The dean shrugs it off, saying his role at the school is minor and everyone likes him because he's so funny. Dream monagatuna was thinking "THAT'S IT? THAT'S what gets Kim and Jimmy to end things? That's so anticlimactic?"

Dreams are weird.

Well...I was pretty far off. Still thought the ending was very fitting.

I wish that I liked it.  I have no issue with Jimmy doing time. That’s a perfectly reasonable option, but the manner and how ridiculous it was seemed like a waste to me.  I won’t go into all the implausible missteps, that disappointed me.  It doesn’t really matter at this point, but I was sad because it seemed like they (writers) gave up.  I never felt that way before about thIs show off BB.  And no song!  That’s just bull shit.  I’m not a happy camper today.

SunnyBee, this is 100% correct and exactly the way I feel!

It's funny because I was going to make a post this evening and it would have been almost word for word of what you just wrote. (great minds LOL) I actually don't even have anything to add...good job!

One of my speculations from a few months back:

On 5/20/2022 at 5:42 AM, PeterPirate said:

I'm calling it now.  Jimmy McGill never goes away.  The Saul Goodman we see in BB is a professional façade, one that he must maintain in order to keep his reputation as The Criminal Lawyer and El Amigo Del Cartel.

But when he goes home, he will be Jimmy McGill--Slipping Jimmy, to be sure--but still the one with a good heart.

This turned out to be true.  Just that his home is ADX Montrose federal prison.

I really wanted Jimmy to go to Butner federal prison, because it’s about 30 miles from me in an adjacent county.  I would have loved to have been able to tell that story!  Even though it’s fictional, I take this stuff quite seriously!😆

For those saying Jimmy's seven-year plea deal was unrealistic, I point you to today's headlines -- not mentioning details because that would make it political, but a defendant pleaded guilty to FIFTEEN felonies and the prison term part of the deal is five months.

There are other conditions that if not met would put the guilty party in prison for a longer term which I imagine would likely have been part of Jimmy's agreement as well.

The point: short prison terms for significant and multiple felonies are real.

No one doubts that, but in your real life example, the defendant can testify against a bigger fish. Saul can't.

True but Jimmy can fill in a lot of gaps about a lot of unsolved crimes and connect a lot of pieces of how the whole cartel-Fring-Heisenberg empires operated. That has value.

I'm by no means saying the situation with the real-world defendant in the news is a one-for-one with the BB/BCS world -- I was just highlighting that high-profile people who commit some pretty significant crimes have the ability to get sweetheart deals if they have something of value to trade (value being subjective to the criminal investigations -- like knowledge about or access to those who committed the crimes), or money to hire really good attorneys (or, in Jimmy's case -- be a really good attorney).
