BritFan June 8, 2016 Share June 8, 2016 Oh Runnergrl37 just spotted your edit reason lol! I'm not religious and think it is less of a thing in the UK to quote bits of the bible on Social Media (could be wrong but I very rarely see it). Maybe that is why I also follow them more on Instagram, twitter is often quite bible heavy! I wonder if in the UK we don't do stuff like that for fear of offending people? Not wanting to exclude people with different beliefs etc. ***It doesn't put me off the girls who have strong beliefs. I find it interesting.. but then I am fascinated by people in general. 3 Link to comment

Dccfan126 June 8, 2016 Share June 8, 2016 i am eh on the Bible verses because you can interpret the Bible however you want. I just remember some girl tweeting about some bible study at some church (like a few years ago), and looking up the church. It was extremely conservative, including anti-homosexual beliefs. that might fly in Texas, but in NY or LA (or most places really) and employer isn't going to want that association broadcasted from your work account. 1 Link to comment
BritFan June 8, 2016 Share June 8, 2016 So, as they will soon be doing make overs and turning pretty coloured hair into hideous reds (though hopefully with this new salon it won't happen) can I suggest a make over for Holly? I think this cut and colour was lovely on her.. I'd love it for myself actually! I think she'd also make a great blond, she has such pretty eyes. 8 Link to comment

Yeah, like I'm wondering if the taking her out of uniform before cutting her was actually a planned thing. Lkke they knew they were eventually gonna cut her (and Chelsea) so they got the uniforms before telling them. I wonder if a cut vet or someone kicked off the squad mid season has ever just not brought back their uniform. Like what would they do, sue them to get it back? Link to comment

So I don't think that was ever an issue. 1 Link to comment

sleepyjean June 9, 2016 Share June 9, 2016 I think the way it works is: Uniforms are turned in on a certain date before auditions. They are given back to veterans (to take home) at the beginning of training camp, so they can do appearances. They are given back to all stars whenever Kelli makes the decision as to who will be an all star for that season. At some point during TC, both veterans and potential rookies have a fitting. Veterans have to bring their uniform in for that, and for the team photo, but they probably get to take it home again. Rookies get to take their uniforms home after the team announcement is made. If anytime during the year, someone is benched for weight or other probation, they have to turn the uniform in. That way, if they have to cut someone, they already have her uniform in house. (I think having to give it back would be extra motivation to get your act together.) At least, that's how I would handle it. I'm not sure about practice wear. I do know that people cut at finals get to keep their blue audition outfit. Maybe it's the same for people cut during training camp? I thought I saw one season that one girl had to turn in her practice outfit before leaving. It made an impression on me because I remember that they took everything from her, including that big binder. The only thing she got to keep was the group photo of the training camp candidates that was inserted into the front of the binder. It made me really sad to watch her being stripped of everything DCC before they sent her on her way. But I also remember in other seasons that people who got cut just threw on a tank and shorts over their pink outfit and walked out wearing it. We know they have a few different training camp outfits, so even if they took the one a girl was wearing when she got cut, she would still have others at home. Depending on how far along she is in camp, she could also have boots, poms, and goodness knows what else in her possession. I would hope they'd just let them keep them, but I very much doubt that they do. If nothing else, I'm sure there is a steep financial penalty for not returning everything. 2 Link to comment

tobeyoungagain June 9, 2016 Share June 9, 2016 So do you have to return the boots after you retire or get cut? I assume you would but do they re-use them? I definitely would not want someone else's shoes. And their shorts are pretty much underwear ... I can't imagine they re-use those?? Link to comment
sleepyjean June 9, 2016 Share June 9, 2016 I think when they retire, they get to keep one blue velcro star, but have to return everything else. I may completely be making that up, but I swear one year I saw a girl using that one star in her garter belt for her wedding. I also have a vague recollection of someone wearing white cowboy boots at her wedding, but I think she had to get them on her own, and they weren't official DCC boots. Making them return everything isn't so much about using those items again (except for show group costumes) as it is about making sure nobody else has access to those exclusive items and the ability to misuse them. Like someone said upthread, it's about protecting the brand. I can only imagine how much storage space 30 years of DCC uniforms takes up. 2 Link to comment
