cherryblossom January 27, 2017 Share January 27, 2017 My friend who is in school for nursing had her first clinical yesterday and she wouldn't go in the room. She's been working at a doctor's office for years, it's not much different at a hospital. She's silly. No she is not silly as in the doctor's office they are generally fully clothed, not that sick, aren't vomiting or needing to be cleaned up from an explosive diarrheal stool. She may have thought it wouldn't be much different from "tv nursing" or the doctor's office. Nursing isn't for everyone and we need to support people as they make that decision. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/40/#findComment-2939211

I support her wholeheartedly...I wasn't necessarily meaning "she's silly" that was more of an inside joke between us. I was a medical assistant for almost 4 years and my sister is a nurse so I know how hard the profession is which is why I didn't want to continue as a nurse. I give her mad props for wanting to do it cause I didn't want that responsibility. bigskygirl January 28, 2017 Share January 28, 2017 I suggest going to the doctor to be checked out. Are you on a physical therapy exercise program at home? You may be sleeping more because it is winter time, and people can get more tired and want to sleep more due to the cold and because it gets dark earlier in the evening. I have been dealing with multiple health issues for the last four years (long story involving a chronic thyroid condition and treatment/medication and two years of the wrong med dosage by an out of town quack), and now some fun stomach digestion issues. *joy* *joy* Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/40/#findComment-2941415
EricaShadows January 28, 2017 Share January 28, 2017 I'd be envious that you get to sleep 10 hours a night plus have time to nap during the day, but I don't think I could do it with all the attendant problems you have. bigskygirl January 28, 2017 Share January 28, 2017 I was diagnosed with Severe Sleep Apnea in August 2015, and I use a CPAP machine at night. I can fall asleep at a drop of a hat at times. It was scary because I thought I was having panic attacks while I was sleeping, but I stopped breathing and was afraid to go back to sleep because it felt like I could not catch my breath and my heart stopped for a few seconds. Imagine my surprise when my Sleep Study Test showed I was stopped breathing an average of 36 times a hour and my oxygen levels dropped down to 80. *yikes* Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/40/#findComment-2941521

tobeyoungagain January 30, 2017 Share January 30, 2017 My friend did / does weightwatchers - the points system. Bad thing is you need to do it yourself and be accountable. On the program, you can eat whatever you want and whenever you want as long as you stay within your points allotment. She wants to eat whatever she wants but doesn't want to have to count and track (finds it tedious). Needless to say she's lost no weight and if anything, may have gained a couple pounds. Sigh. Another thing about WW that I don't like is its lack of ethic or diverse foods. It's almost meant for people who eat only "American". 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/40/#findComment-2944787

LaurenBrook January 30, 2017 Share January 30, 2017 2 hours ago, heatherrrrz said: Lauren tell me your wayssss. I made such a good dinner last night, not sure how many calories it was though. Well it definitely takes some planning and consistency with logging stuff on my fitness pal - but once you've done it for a couple of weeks you get better at knowing what you can eat on certain days. My plan (and there are all types) right now has three low carb days a week, on those days it's 50 net carbs (fiber and sugar alcohols don't count towards carbs) but you still try to hit your calorie goal (so it's lots of healthy fats and protein) and do sprints/cardio (to pull energy from fat stores instead of ingested carbs). Then on high carb days I hit my calorie goal with 50% carbs, 20% fat and 30% protein and the workouts are weight lifting (all the extra carbs then go to muscle growth). I know it sounds overwhelming but I love that it mixes up my workouts and some days I can enjoy fruits, popcorn, etc. and others I can enjoy peanut butter and cheese lol. It's nice to be able to eat like 2000 calories too and still lose weight, even on my rest days; I can't believe I ever starved myself on like 1400 and did cardio for 2 hours. YIKES. I have three coats of navy chalkboard paint on the counter top and it's a snooze fest, so I says to myself, SELF.....what if I did something like THIS with hot pink, silver and navy glitter flecks OVER the navy blue countertop and then seal with a clear coat?! Opinions??? It’s very sparkly and dramatic!!!! Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/40/#findComment-2945464

LaurenBrook January 30, 2017 Share January 30, 2017 I think it probably all depends on where you live and what main coverage area is? I live in a largely Verizon area so i've never had issues, no complaints. There's hardly any T-Mobile or Sprint stores anymore Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/40/#findComment-2945631
tobeyoungagain January 30, 2017 Share January 30, 2017 I use a prepaid plan ... $45 a month! It's too expensive to go with those regular plans Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/40/#findComment-2945699

I used to have Sprint (the coverage was terrible and I lost my signal all the time), AT&T (too expensive), and Cingular (but then they were taken over by AT&T). I like Verizon just fine. EricaShadows January 30, 2017 Share January 30, 2017 I've had very few issues with Verizon (I get a deal with them through work as well), but one of the main issues I had with them was that, many years ago, I had sent in my payment and they credited it to someone else's account. When I called them on it, they tried to say that I would have to send them more money to cover it since I hadn't paid it even though they had JUST told me they had used MY money to pay on someone ELSE'S account and that they couldn't (or wouldn't) change that payment mistake. I told them that me sending them more money to cover up THEIR mistake would not be happening and if they couldn't or wouldn't credit me for the missed month because they screwed up, then I would be dropping them immediately and switching to another company. They fixed it immediately and I've had very few issues with them since. bigskygirl January 30, 2017 Share January 30, 2017 I tried to post earlier when the thyroid discussion was going on, but my computer and internet service would not cooperate. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 2003. My autoimmune system attacked my thyroid by producing antibodies tricking my thyroid to produce more thyroid hormones. I decided to go with thyroid medication for treatment, and between the thyroid med and blood pressure med I was put on, I gained around fifteen pounds in one month. In August 2012, I ended up with full blown Graves Disease, and ended up having the Radiation Ablation Treatment in December 2012. My advice for anyone who may be facing a thyroid disorder is research, research, research when it comes to selecting a treatment plan and if possible, a second opinion. I wished I got a second opinion before having the treatment because I have been dealing with multiple medical issues since starting the one thyroid med for hypothyroid in January 2013, and a quack doctor who kept me on too high of a med dosage for two years. I was in remission for nine years and felt better when I had my thyroid. tobeyoungagain January 30, 2017 Share January 30, 2017 who is that girl again who has a boyfriend who was imprisoned for something and she is still fighting for his freedom? I think she is the sister of one of the former DCCs but for some reason I'm totally blanking on the name.
