Season 18 Live Feed Discussion: Their Lives are Almost as Boring as Ours!

Damnit Paul! I don't like Paul at all. Dare I say it, but I might actually like Victor more than Paul. Well, I was hoping for Natalie over Paul, but maybe Day take Bridgette off to ensure Frank goes home? If she wins? But probably not. Let's just hope that James can stick to his guns and if Bridgette or Frank win, he won't put up Day. I'm just afraid that he isn't as ruthless of an HOH this season as he was last season.

I've been gone a few hours....trying to play catch up.  Question for anyone:  Do the HG's know there's a secret room and that the Departure sign has meaning, or have those things not been revealed yet?

They don't know yet. Michelle thinks thinks there's a secret room behind the HOH though because she heard them building something, but they just assume it's Pandora's Box.

And this is why they should have planned out all the twists and built any secret rooms before the season.

At least we know this twist was literally made up within the last week or two.

I didn't think they knew but I keep reading that people are wondering why nobody's looking for the secret room.   I'm thinking why would they be searching for something they don't even know exist?

Yea really. I don't think they're stupid for not looking for secret clues to a secret room they have no idea about. Obviously they'll have to be given hints about it before they start looking for clues. I don't know if the DR will starting giving them all hints or if they'll have Julie hint at it on Thursday. I feel like it'd be rather unfair if they do it in DR because whoever gets the hint first would have an advantage. But the show isn't fair so they'll probably go that route.

They were already given a hint by Julie during the live show.

What did she say? I don't remember her hinting it at all. I remember she said more twists and secrets were coming, but that's hardly a hint that you need to look for clues to a secret room.

This was planned all along.  Why the phone booths and Departures board?  If Michele heard drilling it could have been a repair to the roof or air conditioner.  Any number of things.

I thought they had been told but I see now they hadn't.  I took Michele's comment about the drilling as them being told.

The minute she said "secrets" though, any decent gamer would have started checking the house.  We've seen it year after year.  I agree, it was only the first "clue" though, and with this group of lazy fucks it will take a lot more blatant clues for them to find anything.  I assume they will come, and become more and more explicit.  Really though?  Former houseguests may have ready noticed.

I don't really agree. I think the first thought would be like someone else is a sibling of a former player or something more along those lines, which is exactly what they seemed to be thinking because someone said something like, "Who's lying?!" after Julie said that.

Some people have definitely noticed things though. Bridgette/Natalie/Bronte (or at least Natalie and one of the other two) have talked about there being twos of things. And someone I believe has wondered about the signs in the rooms.

Yeah, part of me is like - there's a lot of different stuff in the House this season! And if that phone can really dial numbers, wouldn't you be looking for numbers to dial? It's not like there haven't been hidden things or secret rooms before. Since they're already speculating about it, and they have about zero things to do in that House, I'd think they'd fiddle around a bit.

Also - I'm guessing they changed the Departure Board during a recent lockdown or something? Because I assume they'd want to twist revealed at a certain time and wouldn't want a nosy detective HG to figure it out earlier.

It's Big Brother.  You look around.  You count everything in the house.  You look for anything that has changed.  This is just good game play.  When Julie says "more secrets" or whatever she said?  You do it all again.

Seriously, what else do they have to do in there?  Gossip, have showmances, plot, and be aware of their surroundings.

Instead these idiots are fussing with their hair, eyebrows, and doing fingernails.  SO much more important than having your head in the game and constantly aware of anything, and especially any changes in the house.

Remember other houseguests counting every bead, every square in wall paper, every flower?

So, yeah.  I think they are all lazy.

  • Love 7

If they have changed the departure board then yea that's something people should've noticed.

But I feel like most seasons people look around and are like, "There's a peanut here, it means there's a secret power!" and we think they're nuts, so I'm not gonna make fun of these people for not thinking there's clues to a secret room. Especially since I don't think that's actually ever happened, except in BB6, right?

  • Love 1

The posters haven't changed though, that I know of.  MANY former houseguests would have already put together the green words in each.

Aside from everything else, this kind of thing can come up in comps, even with no secret room.

Anyway, BB will have to spoon feed it all to these complacent idiots.

Where the heck is Day? I've been watching for a while and I haven't seen or heard her.

She was in the London room talking to Michelle and Paul when the feeds first came back. I think she must've been napping after that. And then I just saw her in the bathroom.

Thanks. I must have missed her. I've seen Paulie more then anyone. He's in the downstairs in the kitchen and now he's upstairs in HOH. He sure gets around. Right now, he's broing down with the guys. I think he's good for a while. I don't think he'll win but he's in a good spot. Maybe, his hair will grow back before finale night. LOL!!!

I'm sure production has to "unlock" the door - it's not like it'd open without their okay. But it'd be weird if a HG put the clues together too early, tried it and it didn't do anything. And then worked once Big Brother was like "Look for clues!"

But this is me just being dumb about HGs outsmarting production. Which isn't happening, obviously, and production wouldn't let it happen anyway.

I would expect the vets and Michelle to think more about this stuff, but almost everyone else is recruited or a very casual fan, so it doesn't surprise me they aren't. And I really don't think it's that dumb. People always count stuff and then it never amounts to anything. I would do it because there's nothing else to do, but I don't think it's some big game move to count things or notice green words.

But that departure board, I would definitely be expecting that to mean something.

I'm pretty sure that you go into the upstairs phone booth, dial 211, and the back of the booth opens up into the secret room.

Obviously there will be more clues doled out.  Each more blatant than the previous.  Funny though, if Michelle really is the replacement nom, I could see her scouring the house for clues.

I think the 4 weeks thing is (unfortunately) how long they will have to use a Coodytaw.  I hope not, I hate those things, and the winner is always tainted by them.

I hope they are all right and this comp is the snatch a prize comp, a stupid costume and hopefully Michelle gets a soccer-ball kicking type punishment.

I'd rather see Nicole get that since she thought her Germatard was worse than that in BB16.

If it is that comp I'm excited to see what that new and horrible punishment is that the comp guy tweeted about.

I think he said the isolation room is worse than ever.  I hope Paul gets that one, just to have him the fuck off my feeds for a whole day.

I do love that James told them all that if he has to replace someone it will be someone who has not been on the block yet, because his only options are Michelle, Zakiyah, and Nicole.

That should be fun.

And they decided that Michelle can go up - I'd love to see her reaction.

Man Paul not being able to talk to anyone for a day would fuck him up lol. Or imagine Day getting that. She'd lose her mind!

I wish this house had 360 cameras that we, the viewers, could control by dragging the mouse like they do on YouTube.  I want to see walls that the camera rarely pans to.  My novice sleuth self thinks the entry to the secret room is across the hall from the safari room.  I know there's a window there, but I'm thinking it's somewhere along that wall between the kitchen and the bathroom because that's where the sign with the green "now" is located.

Looking at the BB floor plan, I don't know how the phone booth could lead to a secret room.  There's no space between the walls that connect Tokyo and London.

Here is the answer that someone figured out.

I don't know what I expect of these people, but it's pretty funny that when finding a phone, they use it to flirt with each other.  They do seem kind of lazy.  Most seem to buy into the notion that they're simply on vacation, and when they're voted out, their "summer has come to an end", as Julie likes to tell them.

What answer?

Secret Tokyo

Ocho Rios – Your Dream Destination (Translation: eight rivers)

Departing On Quarter Hour – Big Ben – London

Nairobi – Your Adventure Starts NOW!

Departures (sign with listings in living room)

Bold words are in green on the signs.  The Paris flight it the one that is departing now.  Flight # is code for  phone.  I think it is 211.

Someone figured this out but it could change or perhaps they are wrong. Makes sense though.

Yes, I know all that.  That's where I got my "now" theory.

I guess I need to watch the feeds more because I didn't even notice the upstairs phone booth.  That's why I was thinking, 'how could there be a room off the phone booth?' -- I was thinking of the booth that connects Tokyo to London.

(edited)

The phone booth has a false back which is the door to the Pandora's box room.

"In preseason exec producer Grodner said to expect the return of the room used for Pandora’s Box and the Coaches’ quarters. So right there I’d say we’ve got our secret room location."

Wings707, on the linked you posted I found this part interesting:

"Update 2: This morning on the Feeds (10:06 AM BBT Cams 3/4) the camera operators zoomed in on both sides of the plane. One side says “CALL” spelled out in the windows and the other side says “PARIS.” If you look at the departures board you’ll find that to be number 211. First HG to dial that in on the upstairs phone booth will gain access to the secret room and possibly earn a game changing power with it."

The reason I found that part of the article interesting is because this afternoon on the feeds (2:43 PM BBT Cam 3) the camera operator zoomed in and out on the Nairobi "NOW" sign just outside the safari room.  The safari room was full of HG's at that time.  Since the HG's can't see the camera zooming in and out, I have to wonder if that was meant as a clue for the viewers who haven't yet picked up on that clue.
