Athena April 29, 2016 Share April 29, 2016 Quote The guests on Graham's sofa are Hollywood star Paul Rudd, playing Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War with Sherlock and Hobbit star Martin Freeman; Silk and Dinnerladies actress Maxine Peake; and comic actor Seth Rogen, starring in Bad Neighbours 2. Music comes from Birdy, who performs Wild Horses. Link to comment
attica May 6, 2016 Share May 6, 2016 I love Martin Freeman so much on this show. He's a dry fizzy antidote to the Hollywood crowd. Having seen Maxine Peake in hundreds of things, I never knew her natural accent was quite so thickly Geordie. I think Seth and Paul had no idea what she was saying half the time -- I think I caught some glazed eyes. It upsets me how Rudd does not age. Link to comment
peeayebee May 7, 2016 Share May 7, 2016 I don't know if I've seen Maxine Peake in anything. I'll have to go to her IMDB page. I think she's very beautiful. There's something very captivating about her. Love Martin Freeman. I wanted to hear more from him. I've heard great things about the new Avengers/Capt America movie, but I'll probably wait until it comes to TV in some form. Link to comment
maraleia May 7, 2016 Share May 7, 2016 Maxine was marvelous in Shameless and Silk. I would highly recommend both of them. I wish Graham would've spent more time talking with her and less with Seth. Link to comment
dubbel zout May 7, 2016 Share May 7, 2016 Maxine Peake reminded me a bit of Julie Walters—self-deprecating, slightly tart, very funny. I wish we'd heard more from her, too. I can do without Seth Rogen. LOL that Paul Rudd and Martin Freeman were both on to support the new Avengers movie but they didn't share any scenes. In those big movies that happens often, I think. Bruinsfan May 7, 2016 Share May 7, 2016 Aww, I like his laugh. It makes me feel like I'm watching Rowlf on The Muppet Show. 2 Link to comment
SmithW6079 May 9, 2016 Share May 9, 2016 I liked this episode, although I did think they were a little raunchier than usual. I wondered if Maxine Peake was uncomfortable. She also seemed like an afterthought. Seth and Paul had done movies together previously (and I forget -- were they working together on one now?); Paul and Martin had just done "Captain America: Civil War"; and there was poor Maxine off on her own. The three men all had great chemistry together, and Martin seemed to be the go-between between Maxine and Paul and Seth. Martin had some good stories, and I totally laughed out loud when Graham shows Paul's "Civil War" clip, and then says, "Here's Martin and his costume" -- cut to Martin in a business suit. I know Zac Efron's got a fantastic body, but I like Seth's chunky bear look. And if I had been in Paul Rudd's position, facing Captain America, I'd totally cop a feel too. Link to comment
attica May 10, 2016 Share May 10, 2016 I liked Martin Freeman talking about the 'giving away state secrets' with regards to making out on film. I mean, if you cast an actor in a role, he/she is going to kiss like they do. (Well, maybe not Daniel Day Lewis. He'd probably spend six months studying different osculatory techniques.) Which means that how they kiss their RL partner is a wee less exclusive. I'd worry about that, both as the actor-kisser and the actor-kisser's partner. 1 Link to comment
DkNNy79 May 10, 2016 Share May 10, 2016 I really want Chris Evans to appear on this show. I feel like all of the Avengers have been on except for him. 3 Link to comment

I wonder if that's why his RL partner plays Watson's wife on Sherlock. Love scenes must be so awkward no matter what. I can't decide if I'd want to know the person or not. It's weird either way. Athena May 10, 2016 Author Share May 10, 2016 Kissing and love scenes come up whenever Paul Rudd on the show. He kissed Helen Mirren the last time. Hee. Link to comment

Although if you watch the ep with Stephen Mangan from a couple weeks ago, he said love scenes with his wife felt a little weird "a little bit like dogging." Speaking of raunchy!! Link to comment
fastiller May 10, 2016 Share May 10, 2016 I have heard that it often happens that for films where there is a steamy sex scene, it's one of the first scenes to be shot. I don't know if it's for psychological reasons (to ensure some awkwardness) or what, but I do recall hearing it. Link to comment
