I think that it was a mistake to take her off The Kitchen but maybe cost was a real issue. For me, there is no reason to even check the show out any more. And I wouldn't miss it a bit if it went off the air.

I am glad that FN is not just letting her go altogether. With the exception of Ciao House, I really like all her other shows. She brings a great deal of knowledge to the shows and is a credit to the network overall.

 

I haven't really watched The Kitchen in ages, but I just read Alex was cut from the show, so I doubt I'll be making a point to watch unless they do something to shake it up. Geoffrey is just pompous, Jeff is a walking bad dad joke, Sunny is loud and annoying, and while Katie is likable and relatable, she's not enough to carry a show. 

Alex can be...um... a bit snippy at times, but she knows her stuff and is an excellent chef, so if she's less than friendly when she's talking about or critiquing a dish, she's probably right. I'll have to catch her on her other FN shows, probably not Caio House though. I half watched one episode of the new season and the contestant and premise of the show was a no for me.

It's a repeat from a couple of weeks ago I think, but Geoffrey is wearing the most unflattering white clothing he (or his handlers) could possible choose.  What was he thinking?  It is so bad it took my mind off Sunny.

My local paper's tv guide and schedule lists The Kitchen as one of today's Best Bets for tv watching today. 🤣

 Yeah, that's what I thought. 

I signed up for The Capital newspaper, local for Annapolis/Anne Arundel County when we moved to the area. It has a section that is syndicated tv listings, that includes 5 "Best Bets". I'm always interested to see what is considered must see tv. First today was The Kitchen which amused me.

I'm so glad that awful "Alex" is gone from the show. She is one of the most unlikeable people on Food Network. She completely ruined the chemistry on the show between Jeff, GZ, Sunny and Katie. They seemed like they couldn't be their usual funny selves around her. She just sat there like a bump on a log with her coffee cup. I find the 4 together to be delightful.  If a show comes on with Alex on it, OFF it goes!!!

I'd gladly trade Sunny for Alex. Sunny was okay on her cook and stir show (that doesn't air anymore), but she is loud and obnoxious on this show and the reason I don't watch it. When I saw there was a new episode this morning I almost tuned in, but decided Sunny is too much! Not worth my time.

I'm with you on this! I used to endure Sunny if there were recipes I was interested in on an episode but I have to admit nothing they cook interests me much anymore so I cancel my DVR recording in that case, which turns out to be most of the time now especially since Alex left. Alex was often the only one making a recipe that interested me. Even GZ doesn't make that many recipes worth recording the show for anymore.

Omg, tried to listen and watch GZ do a tomahawk steak and Sunny just never shuts her trap!!!  It's not your segment!

Have no idea how long he cooked the steak in the cast iron but I did hear every inane thought that came out of Sunny's mouth.

I'm sure she's a lovely person, but omg, can't take her yapping on this show.

For me, Sunny's obnoxious behavior has resulted in me no longer even giving a show a first time view if I see she is on it! She really grates on my nerves and I just don't need that aggravation.

Sunny is loud, but I like her. The sandwich king reminds me of a little boy with his crew cut and manner.

Haven’t seen this show in ages, but caught some today. It was Friendsgiving and the treat for me was taking down Geoffrey (not a fan).

First Jeff was making stuffing. Or dressing, you know they argued about that. Claimed it was a north/south thing. Which maybe. But one is made in the bird and the other in a pan. I’ll let you guess which is which.

Anyway, Geoff is picking on Jeff, per usual. But when he bitched why Jeff left out the pancetta from his recipe, Jeff clapped back with “when you write the recipe you can do whatever you want.” Geoff shut the f*ck up so fast, Jeff felt the need to say, you ask questions, I give answers.

Then the wonderful Carla Hall shows up to make a spiced  Bundt cake with root beer. As she heats the root beer and a shitton of butter, Geoff needlessly says she’ll reduce that. No, Geoff, says Carla. I said heating it up. Blessedly again, Geoff the Insufferable (and staff stiffer) muted for a few.

Sunny was generally subdued, on par with Katie. 
 

Carla is hosting another themed baking show on FN. Happy for her success and always recall Tom Collicio on TC dissing her for saying she cooked with love. Times change. He now mentions that “ingredient” frequently.

And yet, I still take away some information.  Katie used a dry rub on a turkey breast.  It looked interesting, so I looked it up to see the proportions.  Trying it today.  Not the whole recipe, but the rub.

I haven't watched this show in ages (wish to heck they'd replace GZ, Jeff & Sunny) but I'm interested in roasting a turkey breast. Thanks!

 I have not watched this show since lockdown. Been watching Youtube cooking shows instead but  I read recently that they finally kicked that awful what's her name who totally killed the vibe of the show off and thought I'd  give it another chance.

Sunny has lost so much weight and looks so young.  She looks amazing.
