Also, Avery and her ex-husband have a heart-to-heart and D. B. considers a future with Greer, Really ? The fate of the US Government ? Unless it's all the nuclear launch codes, I seriously doubt that the government is in peril. And despite the fact that the fate of the nation is on the line, Avery has time to have some quality time with the Ex. WTF ? I wonder if they will have time for some more quality Mundo family drama. I guess Krummie will be doing most of the heavy lifting this episode since Lil' Bow Wow probably got the fuck out now that this sentence has been vacated, Mundo won't have much to shoot at or run over with his SUV and Raven will probably be living a real life version of Cage Heat back in prison. Maybe they'll call in that Artie guy for backup. Edited March 12, 2016 by ottoDbusdriver Link to comment
ottoDbusdriver March 14, 2016 Share March 14, 2016 (edited) Wow -- it was even more boring as a season (and possibly series) finale than I could have anticipated. Really DB -- questioning a young child of suspects without a parent or legal representation present ? Mundo family drama -- Nina keeps texting Mundo, Mundo's dad is still a drunk, and yet absolutely no mention of Mundo's wife or daughter. DB drama -- Greer gives him an ultimatum (seriously ?) to fly to Paris with her or it's over. Avery drama -- despite that fact that her ex-husband is in the midst of wedding planning, Avery confesses she wants to reconnect with him. Somehow DB thinks he has the authority to overrule a court and keep Raven at CTOC until he says so -- WTF ? And why is Avery always yelling ? And the techno-phrase of the week is: Legacy Footprints. Seriously ? Could there possibly a little less-techno sounding techno-phrase of the week ? So, in order to track the 13 year old kid who hacked the Bureau of Personnel Mgmt, and got all the files, they decide to rename all the Wifi points in an area of D.C. so that Jake (the hacker kid)'s phone will auto-connect to what looks like a trusted Wifi network. One problem -- they clearly showed the mom's cell phone where the name of the home Wifi network was "Hazleton Home", and Raven proceeds to rename a bunch of Wifi points in D.C. as ...... "Hazelton Home". Which means Jake's phone would have connected to nothing. Plus there's the entirely stupid notion that CTOC can rename all the Home Wifi points at will. And they hacked the D.C. gunshot detection network (with no repercussion). Here's the other thing -- when you throw a cell phone into airplane mode it turns off ALL wireless -- mobile carrier, Wifi, NFC -- everything, so Jake would have had to turn his Wifi on manually after switching to airplane mode, but why would he have done that if he wasn't trying to be found. Jake gets shot in the arm by Echo, but Echo (the evil hacker) just takes the hard drive and runs but not before kicking Jake's cell phone into the pool. But of course Mundo takes down Echo, and Krummie saves Jake from drowning in the pool. And the entire case of the week is resolved with a full 11 minutes to go until the top of the hour -- that has to be a new record. I like how there was absolutely no post-game analysis on WHY Echo shot and killed Wizard (yep, he died off screen), and shot a kid to steal a hard drive of government secrets -- no explanation of who he was working for, or why he just suddenly and yet conveniently showed up at Wizard's gym just as Jake was showing up. Seriously, there was no follow-up, it just ended. Mundo gets a restraining order from Nina, and he goes into full-on anger mode and goes off in a huff, DB quits since he is going to Paris to be with Greer, and Andrew chooses Avery and ditches his fiance. All the family drama comes crashing together when Nina confronts Mundo in the underground parking garage and pulls a gun on him, DB gets off the elevator and pulls his gun, shots are fired as Avery, Krummie and Lil' Bow Wow get off the elevator to find that Nina shot DB and DB shot (and killed Nina). They never do explain why Nina is going to these extremes just to be "friends" with Mundo. Sure, she's a stalker but there was no explanation of why jacked things up from annoying stalker to pulling a gun on Mundo. The writers on this show just suck -- I hope they get jobs re-wiriting screenplays for the reboot of the Smurfs or something equally shitty, because they shouldn't be allowed near network or cable television ever again. Cut to 4 months later -- Lil' Bow Wow has already graduated from Quantico and is a full agent (really ? That's all it takes to become an FBI agent because I figured for sure that he wouldn't make the height requirement), Raven is working at CTOC as a consultant (so I guess she managed to dodge any further prison time), Krummie is mentoring a WhiteHat apprentice group of teenagers that includes Jake the hacker, and Avery is all happy/smirky at her team -- Krummie, Lil' Bow Wow, Raven, Mundo and about 9 billion background extras who never get names or lines. Someone mentions DB, and Avery longingly walks past DB's still empty office which kind of makes you think that DB died from the gunshot wound and they are keeping it as some sort of memorial -- but no, DB is in Paris with Greer and he walks with a cane now. So why would they still be keeping an office at CTOC for DB after he's been gone for 4 months and ain't coming back ? And everything ends with DB and Greer speaking French very poorly at a café in Paris. WTF ? Edited March 14, 2016 by ottoDbusdriver 4 Link to comment

That's amazing, even for these writers. I can't recall if the Hazleton Home was a secured wifi, but you kind of assume it was. Did they just change (somehow) all of the unsecured wifi they could find, and somehow his phone would still connect, even without needing a password? Hm. There was some kind of blah blah about the Russians having some chatter about buying it, so presumably Echo decided to get rich quick. However, they really didn't bother to explain how or why. 9 billion background extras who never get names or lines. I deeply wish we could have had one more scene of the extras breathlessly ooohing and aaaahing over our heroes. Alas for lost opportunities. And everything ends with DB and Greer speaking French very poorly at a café in Paris. WTF ? This really made me laugh. As if a French waiter would be smiling so indulgently at an American's bad French. I guess it's sort of fitting that if this is the show's end, it was just as ridiculous, nonsensical and uninteresting as all the rest. Edited March 14, 2016 by iscoffy 4 Link to comment
Lebanna March 14, 2016 Share March 14, 2016 Didn't DB supposedly just get divorced from his lovely wife of 30-odd years because she wanted to retire to Seattle to be near their many kids and grandchildren, but he had this grand vocation which meant that he could never leave law enforcement? So, a few months later he quits law enforcement and moves to Paris with his new, more glamorous girlfriend? I bet that would have gone down fantastically with the rest of his family. 6 Link to comment

Although, even near the end of CSI, it seemed like D.B. was more concerned about supervising Fin than needing his grand vocation. I guess remote-controlled cockroaches and apparently unlimited fun money for tech from Avery wasn't enough to keep his job interesting-- only weird codependency with the departed Fin provided that, apparently. 1 Link to comment

Wizard probably knew Echo as a fellow hacker and foolishly told him about Jake's "achievement". Since CBS cancelled the last four episodes, it looked looked like the writers came up with a script that could serve to tie up loose ends and serve as a series closer or in case of a renewal go forward with new story lines minus DB's involvement (at first, possibly). My bet is that Cyber will be cancelled and for me, that's too bad. Contrary to the slings and arrows that are thrown at the show, I've enjoyed it. Edited March 14, 2016 by cali1981 2 Link to comment

iscoffy March 14, 2016 Share March 14, 2016 I don't know why, if D.B. was going to realize he was over forensics, he couldn't have reconciled with his wife in Seattle rather than this nonsense with Greer (sp?). I get that they were writing him off the show in case the show continues, but why have that take place via Paris with random woman? If Avery can get her ex back in the middle of his wedding plans, why not D.B.? They could have written almost anything, and that's what they came up with? (Tagline for the whole show, though.) 4 Link to comment

BooksRule March 14, 2016 Share March 14, 2016 (edited) Is 'digital dust' (previous episode) and 'digital exhaust' (this episode) the same thing? If not, how are they different? Are these real terms or are the writers just making them up? (And do we really care or want to know?) I wasn't fooled for a minute about whether or DB lived or died. I know he would survive and would end up in Paris. I do agree that he embraced the single life (and then a new girlfriend) pretty quickly, considering how devoted he and his wife seemed to be in his early days on 'CSI:LV' (or until his family got so involved in kidnappings and stuff). Tony March 15, 2016 Share March 15, 2016 My problem was with DB bossing everyone around like he was in charge, telling Raven to get back to the job and issuing out commands to the others. Isn't he only supposed to be the forensic lab rat? Talk about overstepping your role. Link to comment
iscoffy March 15, 2016 Share March 15, 2016 Avery seemed to put DB in charge when she took off into the field with Krummy and Mundo. He obviously didn't have the authority to tell Raven to stay, but nobody at CTOC ever suffers any repercussions for their actions. Although I would much rather see D.B. bossing people around than canoodling in France or cutting off finger skin. Thanks for the discovery of that new squick, Cyber! Link to comment
juliet73 March 15, 2016 Share March 15, 2016 I really hope this show is cancelled. It's the only way I'll be able to quit this ridiculous train wreck. I love when Mundo was chasing the bad guy at the pool and yells, "You there, freeze!" I didn't realize stalker girl was killed. That was pretty lame. Even if the show does return, DB will not. I read a few months ago that Ted Danson was leaving for good. Link to comment

juliet73 March 15, 2016 Share March 15, 2016 Tell me how does a convict on supervised probation become a FBI Special Agent? I was curious about this too. I'm not an FBI expert, but don't hundreds, if not thousands, of people apply for the training program and only a select few are chosen? Bow Wow is 5ft tall and 100lbs soaking wet so for that reason alone, I would think he would be disqualified. Let alone, he's a covicted felon. Civilians that are convicted felons aren't allowed to carry firearms, but Bow Wow is? Because he's an agent now? Also, isn't the training program at least a minimum of 5 months? He completed it in 4? Also, I didn't realize the FBI was open to field trips. Good riddance show! Any recommendations of what I can hate watch now? 1 Link to comment
Scott March 15, 2016 Share March 15, 2016 The ending sure smelled like a series finale. We can hope. I wasn't paying attention to the time when I watched it, so when DB gave his notice, I figured that was the end of the episode, and that was how they were writing him off the series. Then, when he was shot, I figured *that* was the end of the episode, and that was our season-ending cliffhanger, just in case they were able to get him back after all. And then, when we got the time jump, it sure seemed that whoever was writing this episode assumed it was going to be cancelled, and definitely wrote it as a series finale (or at least tacked on the ending when they saw how poorly the show was doing). I for one would have appreciated a scene of Avery's ex-husband's jilted fiance and D.B.'s abandoned ex-wife partying together in Vegas, but I guess their happiness was not considered by the characters nor the writers. 4 Link to comment
threebluestars March 16, 2016 Share March 16, 2016 This show is bad. Just really, really bad. Bad storylines, bad writing, bad everything. DB Russell had so much promise the first season he was on CSI, then they (I thought) ruined him bringing in all the family drama/kidnapping. But no, I see now that they ruined him here, badly and completely. ARGH. Show. Go away. 1 Link to comment
hatchetgirl March 17, 2016 Share March 17, 2016 Boy, Greer's French, after 4 mos, was unbelievable bad, like the worst and there is no way a Parisian waiter would even pretend to be nice with that. I was so over her making an ultimatum. Besides the fact that I think it's a stupid move for anyone, the 2 of then are old enough and have enough money to visit whenever. Completely unbelievable. Then Avery's ex just dumps his fiance, shows up and says "chocolate"? That was so cavalier! I'd not want to be with a mam who could dump someone so fast is cruel. Granted, his fiance was so stupid to show up at Avery's home, throwing the "he's mine, you can't have him" card. That made me laugh so hard! Really avery, you just thought the guy was gay and now you can't live without him? Beyond. 2 Link to comment

Dawson as the team muscle has become Asian but with the anglicized name Matt Simmons. And in the DB role instead of a scientist who does everything with no specific specialty with have in the of the loved veteran actor joining the cast to save the show we have Ms Rubirosa from Law & Order as the expert on all cultures. 1 Link to comment
