Just when I think Joe can't be more "toadying" - he proves me wrong.  He will twist himself into a knot trying to make some of Trump's proclamations not seem too abhorrent or bizarre. "Self Deportation" seems to be a made-up term to describe something totally unAmerican. 

When does KYV begin? Could it be possible that Meeka will call it off this year? If not ... I hope someone in the media calls out the hypocrisy. John Stewart comes to mind.

I was not disappointed.  Rather than raise anything resembling an objection to Trump's eagerness to deport immigrants, Joe criticized the administration for not making it easier and more appealing for people to self-deport, because self-deporting could really help Trump get those disappointing deportation numbers up.

I shit you not.

Oh, and Joe also mentioned how the Trump administration has alleged that wrongly deported Juan Garcia Abrego is a member of that vicious gang -- wait for it -- "MS-16."

I just pray Trump doesn't deport Kevin, Mike and Bill from MST3K. 

What the fuck is Joe doing? Last week or two weeks ago the tariffs weren't "that" bad, because not every stock on the Dow had dropped the next morning. 

Now he's all about self deporting? Like I've said earlier, why is Morning Joe on MSNBC if they're allowed to say shit like this? 

It's like Joe is watching Trump's Cabinet kiss his ass and says "hold my beer".

Within the first 6 minutes of the show, Scarborough, who is wearing the same ugly jacket he had on yesterday, 1) sort of agreed with Chris Matthews about the universities, and 2) insisted that the Trump administration needs to bring Garcia back to the U.S. so they can deport him properly this time, without upsetting people.  Ten minutes is about all I can take.   Guess I'll listen to music while washing the dishes today.

Watching the 6 am rerun at 8 am.

Joe is literally explaining to Trump how to re deport Garcia!!!!  Why does he need to be deported?  You can't just make up shit about someone and deport them, Joe. And you can't keep lying about it because you fucked up and now everyone is calling you out. 

Oh wait. That's been Joe's MO for years. Lying about something, blaming someone else, or just saying you didn't do it and if the rest of you don't like it, fuck off. 

And now Joe is reading from his Bible, the WSJ editorial page.  What a fucking blowhard.  Garcia came to the country as a teenager. The claims that he was a member of MS 13 have not been proven, and he's a legal US resident. 

But sure Joe, help these assholes, in your lame attempt to show what a great legal mind you have.

Thank you!  MSNBC is trying hard to make Pablo Torre happen.   Back when I was watching the show regularly I still shut off the TV or hit mute whenever he was a guest, partly because I hate sports, partly because I don't like his personality.

But now, MSNBC is shoehorning him into places he doesn't fit, like Deadline: Whitehouse.   For example, last week there was a discussion about the impact of tariffs on the average consumer.   Rather than dig into how tariffs will affect food, clothing -- you know, something everyone can relate to -- they seated Pablo Torre across from Nicolle Wallace to reflect upon how expensive kids' hockey equipment will become.  I was like WTF?  This guy?  Hockey equipment?  It was bizarre.  But he went on and on.  I switched off after ten minutes because I guess I just don't care that a full hockey outfit will cost the average consumer about $600 after tariffs, or who among the panel have children playing travel hockey.   It started to sound like banter from a cocktail party in New Canaan -- or a segment on Morning Joe.

Today is a special edition of Morning Joe due to the death of Pope Francis. 

Joe began quoting Bible verses about a woman at a well. Joe said the Pope supported Jesus's teachings and stood up to the hard right in the Church.

Joe said Liberals were upset that the Pope didn't allow Priests to get married & was opposed to abortion.

Joe is not sure where the Church goes from here.

Mika said the Pope led a simple life & didn't like Luxury goods.

JD Vance met with the Pope yesterday.

Mika struggled reding where the Pope would be buried. She had difficulty saying the words "St.Mary Major Basilica" . She called it MaHor instead of Major. Basilica.

Mika said there will be a Conclave. Joe is working his contacts in the Catholic Church to see who will win the next election.

Joe said the Cardinals would be diverse due to their popularity in the South.

 

 

 

Joe said Francis liked to eat dinner with poor people like Jesus.

A few minutes ago they were talking about how the new Pope will be elected, and it's just the cardinals sitting around looking at DaVinci paintings and chatting, and just like Conclave (the film). 

Did they even see that movie??  Because I'm sure Conclave is much more accurate as to the amount of infighting and backstabbing going on behind the scenes. 

Holy shit Ben Affleck and my boyfriend Jon Bernthal coming up. 

If they really wanted to be cool they'd also have Pedro Pascal on.  Have to admit The Accountant 2 looks pretty good. 

Andrew Ross Sorkin talking about the letter the WH sent to Harvard under the guise of addressing anti-semitism. 

And of course Joe chiming in that "it is the least conservative thing going".  

 If he thinks Democrats are the only party that sticks its nose where someone else thinks it doesn't belong, maybe he should wake the fuck up and realize that anti semitism is what it really is when Republicans/conservatives state "America was founded as a Christian nation" (it wasn't).  

One of these days Joe will realize what a shit show his "former party" was and is.  And that day will probably be the same day monkeys fly out of my butt.

He's amazing in The Bear.  i love him in everything. 

It was nice to see Ben happy while talking about the movie, and the Dunkin commercials and his company. Casey was in a Dunkin sketch when he hosted SNL, it is hilarious.  Of course Mika has to bring up those stupid comments about him being glum.  Of course he gets upset when the paparazzi follow his kids. And we all know the other issues.

Not to get to deep into The Bear, it's a stressful watch at times. But it is an amazing story of a family. The guest cast is A list actors, the sound track is amazing. When I finished the first season all I could think was "what the f*** was I waiting for?" 

I'm shocked that Joe got Mika to watch it.  Bernthal's character has a couple great episodes, Mikey is the impetus to begin the storyf.

Jon was excellent in The Walking Dead! I would watch him in The Accountant.

I am not Catholic, so I don't follow what the Pope does closely.

Mika should play up the fact that her late dad was strongly supportive of getting Pope John Paul II elected. He was a strong ally of the Polish Solidarity movement, which helped fight Communism in Poland and Eastern Europe.

Mika also should have bragged that she met the Pope when her dad worked for President Carter.

Mika was well-behaved when she met the Pope and didn't cause chaos, like when she spilled hot soup on the Chinese President or almost ran over Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin with a golf cart during the peace talks with Egypt at Camp David.

Mika showed up today in NY wearing a tracksuit. Joe is AWOL. Trump wants Ukraine to surrender Crimea. Trump isn't asking for concessions from Russia.

Mika's brother is a guest. He is outraged at Trump not leveraging American power.

Trump is compared to Neville Chamberlain for ceding Czechoslovakia to give up the Sudetenland.

Putin still wants control over Ukraine.

I wondered if Joe was off today; Meeka was in full "strident" voice. Does Joe even care about showing up? I have to wonder if he is leaning into being an "interviewer" full time. Show seems to be doing more of those these days.  Because nothing else is happening in the world. And if I wanted to see a more "interview" type of show....I would watch GMA or Today. Not Joe.

Joe interviewed someone today, but I deleted the show from my DVR.

Willie does good interviews on Sunday Today with celebrities.

I suspect the plan is to make Mika & Joe less political & interview random celebrities.

MSNBC should be able to renew Mika & Joe's contract at a much lower salary or replace them with Willie, Jonathan & Katty Kay.

Ratner was on a minute ago talking about airline safety. 

I guess Mika was screeching about how dangerous flying is now, maybe earlier this week?  Ratner actually said "well Mika has to face reality instead of what she thinks is true. Flying isn't anymore dangerous now than it ever was. It's the safest mode of transportation."

Nice to see everyone on the show realizes how full of shit JoMika are, and how they say whatever they want, true or not, and present it as fact.

I have not seen Meeka shilling the KYV gathering. Then again, I don't watch all that much anymore.  So I "googled" it and found out that it was back in March!!! How did I not know this? Was Joe there? Did they keep it quiet purposely? Fearing a backlash from The Regular People because they - The Regular People - are suffering unter the current economic situation?

It was all over her Instagram. Photos of her with a camel, galavanting around in the desert, getting her hair and make up done.  It was the typical nausea inducing bullshit.  Wealthy ladies pretending to do something worthwhile, when all they're doing is spending tens of thousands of dollars to kiss Mika's ass.

Ratner is a licensed airplane pilot and owns a small plane. A few years ago, he admitted to flying Mika and Joe from Manhattan to Martha's Vineyard on summer weekends. Joe was happy because renting a private plane is expensive & there aren't many commercial flights to the island at a fair price.

I was just looking at the IG again, I didn't realize there were several photos and video and audio.  It is so cringe.  People dancing to Proud Mary, Mika and Willie on stage, I think singing 😱.  Then they're interviewing people. 

I think this is Joe's ultimate dream. To have a late night show where he and Mika interview people and Joe and his cronies are the house band. 

I don't think The Roots have anything to worry about.

I know that Jonathan Martin had a moment yesterday, in a 2-box with Joe he was caught looking at his phone while Joe was being Joe. Stopped dead in his rant - "Didja get that selfie, JMart? Look good?" Just before, he was looking a bit antsy anyway and not even pretending to be spellbound.

Jonathan Martin has some sort of weird facial tic he's worked hard at getting under control, it seems. He used to when not talking have his lips pursed open in the shape of an "O". He seems fine when talking now, but when not talking he seems jittery and making an effort to keep from going to that "O". Maybe doing stuff on the phone helps him. At any rate it's always seemed almost cruel to televise him sitting there fidgeting, struggling for long times while Joe blathers on.

I figured Meeka would champion a young(er) woman like AOC. A woman who worked as a waitress to help pay for college. And who managed to get elected to Congress! I mean, isn't that what KYV is supposed to be all about? But as John Belushi said in either a movie or skit..."But, Nooo" ...  I haven't thought about that in decades. I think maybe he said it to Jane Curtin/Gilda Radner on SNL?

People may not be completely on board with all of AOC's policy ideas, but people weren't on board with Women's right to vote, civil rights, ending slavery, a whole lot of things that are not only the right thing to do, but actually made a part of our Constitution. 

Never underestimate Mika's ability to be extremely envious of a woman who actually does know her value and made it thru sheer hard work and determination, and not by sleeping with her boss and her family's connections.
