Guest July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 (edited) I feel so blessed that I don't watch The Flash or LoT and my fast forward button still works. Praise! Another male character was cast as recurring. Hmm. It feels like last year when there were so many casting announcements that it felt like there was too much and how is this gonna work? But then I remember Jeri Ryan was only in one episode and we barely saw Alex, and Anarchy was barely in 3 episodes (I think?). Even DD had less screen time than I originally thought. So gonna wait and see how it pans out. Edited July 23, 2016 by Guest Link to comment

If she's a) the Black Canary in another timeline, or b) the love interest in the past, or c) marching around in black leather in Central City, I feel like it will create a cognitive dissonance, like she's not really dead, especially if people feel like she can be pulled out of another timeline or that they can "reform" Black Siren and turn her into the Black Canary. I feel like they did something daring and they are backing out of it. Was it at the behest of DC? I feel myself heading into a rant and will stop now. So much for that whole "but this time, death is really, really important and matters" bs. SmallScreenDiva July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 I really, really don't like it when jbuffyangel acts like she speaks for the fandom. That's the vibe I got reading that report. Lady, stop trying to justify Guggenheim's awful storytelling. And why am I not shocked he was surprised by the reaction to the BMD. Yes, Marc, you did something wrong. By throwing everybody's characterization under the bus and then have the bus go forward and back a few times just to justify that horrible plot. Guggie's shocked people worry about OTA?!?! When he barely has them interact?!?! KC signed a contract to be on 3 shows? I don't care if it's just one-offs for each show. That's still too many appearances. I was hopeful this show was done with that character and actress. Ugh. Well, at least I'll only have to avoid her on 1 show. I need more coffee. 16 Link to comment
kismet July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 Didn't JbuffyAngel go as a member of the press? Maybe that's why he spoiled it. I do think MG knows some of the big social media Arrow people. And for good or for bad, she is one of the big social media Arrow people. Revealing it to her lets the secret out, and it can generate buzz. He also can totally deny it or say that she misunderstood. It's very crafty of MG to give the info to her. If he gave it to a bigger name or a more legit news source, he'd probably get in trouble. But this way he can leak the information and no one is going to pin it on him. I'm not worried about KC hanging around Flarrowverse, I figured something was up with her hanging around VanCity and publishing gym photos. Plus TPTB seem to love her. And unlike CD or ST, her chances of finding a better project/deal were probably very small. Hopefully they are small parts and there is no major retconning like 419 - that was detrimental to the show & the characters in my book. And I don't appreciate that type of retconning. I'd laugh if people spent days speculating who was going to be the new BC and it turns out to be LL/KC the whole time. 1 Link to comment
Morrigan2575 July 23, 2016 Author Share July 23, 2016 Yes, she went as a member of the press but, again she's not working for a big name media outlet. And she's also not actually acting very "professional" when she's blabbing this all over her blog (IMO). But again, if you're keeping something secret, that you're going to have a big announcement for (at the panel) yhen you're either not going to reveal it at all or you're going to give an exclusive to TV Line or TV Guide (which are CWs big go to outlets for releases and damage control). Now, that tells me that this might bot be as big of a deal as JBuffyAngel made it out to be. Of course i can always be wrong. Link to comment
Chaser July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 I suppose they sorta teased something in the TV Guide issue. At least they teased something BC related. I would have thought they would have plugged the panel if they were going to make some type of announcement about KC coming back. I need to re-read the LOT spoiler to check out the wording of the KC mention. IIRC they were asked if KC would make an appearance and the answer was no because of other plans. That doesn't sound like they were waiting for the deal to be made. Link to comment

I really don't think she's going to have a presence on any of the shows, just the very occasional cameos in FB or time traveling. kismet July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 Well they never said she was fired or will never work on GB/WB show publicly that just came from sources here. They were pretty complimentary or neutral in their post-LL death press. I don't remember anything inflammatory about KC. Just that LL in the present day was dead, dead, dead and that death matters this time. From what has been reported about what MG said, it seems that holds true. Present Day LL is dead. Everything else was always a possibility, people here were just hoping that it was going to be different this time. Optimism runs high on this board sometimes. I've learned to be a realist when it comes to Arrow, which is why this KC development is just water under the bridge for me. 1 Link to comment
Chaser July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 Watch this amount to 1 flashback appearance on Arrow (the deathbed conversation), a flashback appearance on LOT (Laurel giving Sara back the jacket) and a BS appearance on The Flash (where she gets killed off). 5 Link to comment
Morrigan2575 July 23, 2016 Author Share July 23, 2016 I think the LoT could possibly end up being BS vs WC but, i can also see them reverting to type. Flashback on Arrow to death bed, Time Travel on LoT, BS on Flash. I can also see, maybe one more Flashback on Arrow (522/523) to set up the pilot connection. Like i said, i could absolutely be 100% wrong but, i don't think this is as BIG as people are making it out to be. 2 Link to comment

kismet July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 (edited) Well my crack theory of the week is LL & OQ had a child, she gave it up for adoption after the whole Gambit debacle. That's why she was so sad and yet understanding of the BMD. And that girl grows up to be the new BC. And so they need KC around to help set that up. I thought about this theory before they released the whole KC stuff. But it makes sense that LL's daughter could be the new BC. And I could see LL having a secret child and that being the big secret reveal. Edited July 23, 2016 by kismet Link to comment

There is little to no evidence to back it up. But I like to wonder about how Arrow might do things out of the box. I wondered what would be so important that LL had to tell OQ. It also a plausible way to make the next BC follow the comic canon that it was her mother that was the original BC. And it would make sense as to why she had such long lingering and powerful emotions to OQ. Plus secret children is a hallmark of Berlanti projects, why not have another secret kid? SL could find her in the future on LoT. OQ would know about her in the present. And FB could show the sadness of LL giving her up in Central City. It's a trifecta of drama to cross all 3 shows. Link to comment
statsgirl July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 (edited) But even if she had a child, it would only be four years old, too young to be BC in anything but a future LoT show. Oliver's already had one secret child, I know they like to repeat things but a secret child two years in a row would be much even for this show. Can you imagine poor Felicity stuck being stepmother to a Lauriver child? Although I bet Quentin would be happy. Quote Adrian Holmes is a Canadian actor whose credits show that he played Lt. Frank Pike in 9 past episodes of Arrow (from 2013 to 2016): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0391738/ I would be behind a Quentin hallucination episode where he hallucinates both Laurel and his old partner. After that, I hope she stays on Flash as the Black Siren or in the past on LoT. Continuum is over but he may be there for another show. 2 hours ago, Morrigan2575 said: I can be 100% wrong but, i think this is being exaggerated. I don't think this is going to be any different an occasional appearance I think it depends on whether they gave her a contract like they did with WM and JB. I assume a contract means they have multiple appearances on the various show. With Colin, Celina, Rick and Rilla, it was just for one or two episodes a season. I'm thinking they could do that without a contract since KC doesn't seem to be that busy these days. Nope, he would leave it with its adoptive family because she's happy and has a chance at a normal life. And then they would cast an older version to be on LoT. statsgirl July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 It would be a twist on the Dinah Drake/Dinah Lance/Dinah Laurel Lance of the comics. But in terms of the show itself, I don't know if it would cause more problems than it solves. They would have to account for why a young girl raised in a family that supposedly has nothing to do with Oliver Queen or Laurel Lance finds out about her parents' secret identities and decides to take on their cause. 2 Link to comment
