That doesn't make sense.  506 is showing that the region has both NY teams.  I haven't heard of any switches to Eagles/Commanders unless it took place at or after 12:59

We're watching the Giants/Falcons game.  Those poor Giants fans.  The team looks so bad.  I want to see them beat the Falcons, but it's looking bleak at this point.

Based on the rest of the schedule, the opportunity for Lamar to regain the lead permanently for the second straight MVP is there for the taking.  Or not; since a non QB won the award, everyone that's won it played for a team that was the Top Seed for the most part.  About 9 for 11 times.  The other two teams were guaranteed a divisional playoff game at home (so as long as they didn't lose the week before).

Lamar and company are too good of a team NOT to beat their division rival, so that outcome was long overdue.  Meanwhile a lot of rather crazy fans in Western PA are crying as if they lost to a 2-12 team & wanting to fire everybody.

Then there's Washington, who like someone else can't seem to maintain control of the ball.  Turnovers happen, but many double efforts toward reducing that number if you were hoping to pull an upset.

Let's see, watch two playoff contenders or watch a 2-12 team that's likely to lose its 10th straight game?  Yeah, I think we know what the better choice is.  Any masochists who want to watch the Giants can find another way.

Philadelphia fails to be the first NFC team to clinch its division.   Washington with a BIG win!  After 5 turnovers!

Great news for Detroit (and Minnesota).  The AFC had a chance to clinch all of theirs on Saturday before the NFC even clinched one, but Pittsburgh couldn't get it done.  To be fair, Philly probably could've clinched last week, and the AFC North should be coming down to the end anyway (Baltimore lost to Philadelphia, a rare Ravens loss to the NFC).

Plus, the leaders in each of the NFC divisions are close to each other (in a good way for the NFC North & not so much before NFC South).

Finally, we had a chance to have all spots secure in a conference for the first time in at least a long time, if not in NFL history.  Cincinnati survived so that may come to the end (unless Denver wins its next game).

By the way, better luck next year, Dallas!

Kenny Pickett is ass. I don't want to hear one word against Jalen Hurts again this season in both Philadelphia and National media. Pickett should not be on any football field again, I hope Jalen is good to go next week but if not Tanner Mckee should play. 

Not having Hurts completely changes the Eagles offense, Pickett definitely not a threat to run.

In both games I watched today when the refs called PI they said “by rule, the ball will be placed at the spot of the foul” (or “by rule, because the foul occurred in the end zone the ball will be placed at the one”) and I don’t recall them calling that out before.  All it does is remind me that it is the DUMBEST rule, and PI should be 15 yards or half the distance like college.

All of the pre-game analysts picked the Bucs to win. As soon as they did, I looked at Mr. Chat and said, "we're doomed!"   That, and playing on Sunday or Monday night, is our kryptonite!  😜

I root for Baker because the Browns got rid of him in favor of Deshaun Watson.  Worked out a lot better for Baker than it did the Browns.

We must have watched the same games because I heard both announcers say it too.  That didn't bother me but what I do find annoying is some announcers have started saying the line to gain instead of the first down marker.  That irrationally irritates me.  And since I'm talking about irritating things I remember I think it was Pat Summerall who no matter what the play was if a player didn't get out of bounds he would say they failed to get out of bounds.  Could be the first play of the second quarter and a run up the middle and he would say he didn't get out of bounds.  Drove me up a wall.

What bugs me is hearing announcers mention a players weight they say "he's a buck ninety-five."  That irrationally irritates me!  That and announcers pronouncing Bengals as Bangles.  Argh!!

Oh the kicker has been a bright spot all season.   Very few misses (which now means he won't make a single one the last two games, ooops).

Probably so and to show all of the analysts who said it would be a cake walk for the Bucs that they've still got game. 

We've been rooting for the Bucs since they came into the league, and more times than not, whenever the "experts" say we will/should win, the Bucs tank.  In our house, it's always "if" we win, not "we will" win a particular game!   I don't know everything there is to know about football, but I do know that!!  😁   I find the humor in it!  

Here's to the playoffs and the snark that will ensue!

I don't know if McCarthy wants to stay in Dallas or if he feels it's time for a fresh start elsewhere.  The team playing strong even when eliminated from the playoffs may mean Jerry Jones has to pay more to keep him, since McCarthy being a coach the team wants to play for could make him more attractive to Oakland, Chicago and other teams that will be looking for a coach.  Perhaps other teams might enjoy taking Jerry's coach from him, or at least drive up the price he would have to pay to keep Mike.  

Mike McCarthy as a hot coaching commodity is not something I had on my bingo card.

Same here.  I do think that both parties will be totally fine going in another direction.  I hardly think Jerry will have trouble finding the next coach.  Meanwhile, I don't think Mike will have too much trouble finding work.  It's possible he sits out in 2025.  Maybe the Giants or the Saints would work.  Maybe not, but as long as he doesn't go to the other New York team, he'll be fine.

BTW, I can't remember this second what McCarthy thinks in terms of coaching at the collegiate level.

One more thing to mention before next Thursday, on a somewhat related note: Unless it isn't the case, Minnesota & Detroit will be the final game in the regular season.  No official word, as that's JMO.  However, I don't think there are any other games that would fit the role of the 272nd game one week from Sunday.  Both teams playoff bound, the winner will most likely host every game they're in on the NFC side.  I thought the NFC West had a chance, and then Steelers vs Bengals for the AFC North and a playoff spot, respectfully.  The latter depends on what happens between KC and Denver, as well as if Detroit can clinch in Week 17.

One thing for sure: Green Bay can't win the NFC North.  They're only a couple games back but as mentioned the Vikings & Lions play each other.  Packers vs Vikings next Sunday doesn't matter; however, I think Green Bay can definitely represent the NFC.  A rather underrated participant in Super Bowl 59

I did have a dog in the fight and I turned that game off early.  I also turned the next game off early.  

I hope Saturday's games are more fun to watch. This time of year I watch as much football as I can because I know we are a couple months away from there being no football but I'm not watching blow out games.

Netflix did better than I thought broadcasting the games.   But the robes and football cake after were stupid schticks.   I loved that Derrick henry and Lamar Jackson refused to go along with eating them.

I am retroactively annoyed that Saturday/Christmas were all AFC and only three divisions.  Dumb scheduling.

The schedule was released in May right?  So the Chiefs and the Steelers, who at the time was predicted to finish last in their division, was an odd matchup to highlight on Christmas day.  They probably should have a done a rival game from each conference.  Perhaps Pittsburgh/Baltimore and Detroit/GB or Minnesota.
