I think we left you hanging.  As ElectricBoogaloo mentioned, the 'and' is the anchor position.  Do you know about primacy and recency effects, where the first and last items in a list are remembered best?  That's the underlying principle of billing. So first is highest, 'and' at the end is 2nd, and 'with' in the penultimate position is 3rd.

You know what confuses me, the way Ani and her sister grew up. The sister plays it almost as if she did not experience the commune in the same way that Ani did. I guess I could chalk it up to her being younger. She definitely wasn't that young though because she does have memories of the mother, she said as much. It just seems like Ani's spirit was a lot more damaged than Athena's from growing up there. Or, Athena, who clearly seems to have a differently personality may just be a little more optimistic. 

In the earlier episodes where Ani tells that doctor who got the best ass-woopin from Velcoro, that two kids committed suicide, and two ended up in jail, I never though she meant her siblings. I always thought those other kids could have been children of some of the other adults living in the commune.  All she said to him was that it was a fucked up place and then he makes some weird comment to the contrary and she says there were five kids that grew up there, and basically she was the only one who "survived" it in "tact" being that she's a detective. It just confuses me, like did the sister even grow up there? She's not in jail, she didn't commit suicide like so where was she?

I've thought about this too, and the only thing that seems to fit is that the sister was previously in jail for prostitution--unless Ani is not counting her sister, which could be because her sister wasn't in the commune long enough to have "grown up" there.

And then there is Frank and his wife.  I'm still trying, and I'll admit that Vince Vaughn and Kelly Reilly did do solid jobs, but I just don't care.  Not one bit.  Not about them wanting a child.  Not about them wanting to be "legit."  Not about their money issues.  I don't care.  This season would have been much better with just the cops as regulars, and him only being recurring and mainly involved with Ray's story-line.

Any bird behaviour specialists out there? Do buzzards / vultures circle around things that are almost dead and accessible? When something is dead, then they start eating? There were several crows / ravens perched on the shed that did not react when Ani & Paul opened the cabin door. Are crows not scared of humans? If food is inside (but apparently not), why do they not fly into the cabin?

The other day I was out for a run and there was a dead snake in the road (it appeared to be recently ran over). There were big buzzards standing around it and eating on it while others stood about three feet away, seemingly waiting their turn. There weren't any flying or circling in the sky above. They all kind of stopped and looked at me and seemed to stare me down, but not a one of them moved when I came running towards them. In fact, I ended up veering to the side some because they weren't going to move for me. So I don't think they are particularly scared of people. It's the closest I've ever been to a buzzard in person. I live in a semi-rural area and I do usually just see them circling in the sky. I think they usually circle while looking for food rather than once they've spotted it.

Wikipedia says "Vultures rarely attack healthy animals, but may kill the wounded or sick."

Those are symbolic vultures: they never eat, only signify.

I agree and in addition, siblings often react to the same situation differently. I have two sisters and the way that we responded to our parents' marital strife were all very different even though we were all there in the same house witnessing the same things.
