Artsda June 25, 2015 Share June 25, 2015 (edited) After a community-outreach baseball game erupts in a drive-by shooting, Gail’s relationship with her brother, Steve Peck, is put to the test in the search for the shooter. Meanwhile, Sam plans a getaway with Andy up to Oliver’s cabin, which goes off the rails in every possible way – except one. Sam being so positive and all "best weekend ever" definitely made me side eye him and realize he was going to propose. They made it predictable since he wasn't being his sullen self. Andy even later questioned why he was so positive. Liked the setting of being on the lake at the cottage and the ring glistening. They made the effort to do a location shoot. Sam kind of not asking but telling her "marry me" at least fit him more. Steve rather have the shooter be free than arrested for the crime he committed. That's very dirty cop of him. That's also the 2nd criminal under arrest that he assaulted in 2 weeks. Gail did the right thing. Ward's a moron. She brought Noelle, Diaz? Really then the moron Duncan? Obviously it's not Oliver either and someone used his card (I'm guessing the culprit is the guy who helped Oliver with his daughter last week). So they sent in Ward and she's an idiot. Telling Andy she was walking her dog when there was no dog confirmed that. Sam was right to get an IA investigation going but he shouldn't have trusted them to actually do it well. Now it's his fault that Oliver will get in trouble. Edited June 25, 2015 by Artsda Link to comment
kalamac June 25, 2015 Share June 25, 2015 I feel like every week my response to the episodes is mainly "Gail is the best." And I'm probably a little biased because she's been my favourite from the start, and I love Charlotte Sullivan, but really....she is the best. 1 Link to comment
DropTheSoap June 25, 2015 Share June 25, 2015 Gail is the best. So, what are the odds she gets fixed up with the social worker? I'm not spoiled in the least, but it seems like that might be a thing. Plus, is that the woman Gail goosed a few episodes ago? (tags, just in case) Gail did the right thing, bringing in the actual shooter. Steve's case would have fallen apart at some point. She did him a favor. Why have they turned Diaz into a total idiot? Not that he's ever been the braintrust of the group, but it seems like they're barely trying with his character. Duncant can still go away. It helps when they put him with Chloe, since Chloe can be sort of fun, but there's a limit to how much it can help. Fortunately, the McSwarek thing was not horrible. It'd help if Ben Bass had more than one expression. Nice to see Noelle back, even for this story. 1 Link to comment

MissLucas June 25, 2015 Share June 25, 2015 Most exciting thing about this episode: the preview for next week! (Not Buffy) Spike!!! Other than that - solid but a little disjointed. Of course Ward is IA - I didn't see the Noelle reveal coming although I should have when she suddenly showed up at the beginning. And of course the mole isn't Oliver but I was surprised that he was the name in the file. After all the talk about setting off the bomb (and having the knowledge to do so) I thought it would be Nick.) Link to comment
Lady Calypso June 25, 2015 Share June 25, 2015 A pretty solid episode. Andy and Sam are best used when they're the B plot and happy. I don't mind them getting engaged, though it'll probably just bring a whole lot of drama like always. Ward is IA and is reporting to Noelle. Very interesting. I knew Ward couldn't be bad, but I wasn't sure who she would be reporting to, so at least it's a friendly face. Clearly someone took Oliver's pass and used it before the bombing...right? It probably is the guy who Oliver used to help get his daughter out of trouble, because now Oliver will be in a bind because he owes the guy but look at his position. I'm liking Gail a lot more this season, maybe because she's softened up. I like her relationship with Sophie too. It's cute. Gail doing the right thing was good, even if Steve's going to be mad for a little while. Another solid directing gig by Gregory Smith. Also...Duncan needs to go away. I still don't like him, and I don't think I will. Link to comment
weightyghost June 25, 2015 Share June 25, 2015 I'm feeling very eh about this whole season. Maybe because it's all a bit too predictable, maybe because the writers feel its necessary to shoehorn Andy into at least 50% of the episodes, maybe because we keep picking up and dropping storylines like they're nothing (Chris is over drugs! Now he's hooking up with a married drug addict... but is he using?)(Nick had major revelation about his past that shaped his whole life! but we're done with that now and he's cool) (Dov and Chloe are still dancing around each other! With no movement towards anything!). But let's all be happy that Andy and Sam got engaged after 5 months of being back together (which I guess 2 months have magically passed between the first episode and now? Since Marlo was 3-4 months pregnant not long ago and Sam said last night that it's been a long 6 months for him and Andy. That whole timeline is strange) Of course not only Andy but Sam is now involved in the IA investigation. And despite Ward being the head, I'm sure they'll find a way for them to solve it too. And I'm over Andy pulling the "uh, we're dating?" card when it comes to secret investigations. Sam doesn't owe you jackshit if it is detrimental to finding a mole within their precinct. Be an adult for once and listen when he says let it go. I miss Noelle. Link to comment
sarkygal June 28, 2015 Share June 28, 2015 I really like this show when it's Gail-centric episodes. There's something about the actress' facial expression that are so natural and believable. Loved seeing Noelle back; I think I gave a Buffy-level squee. I usually think Swarek is eye candy but the t-shirt rippling over his chest hair was distracting and gross. I'm increasingly turned off by brother Peck and I need Traci to have a great relationship with a good guy who doesn't die already. Couldn't they have paired her up with Nick? One small note; when Dov looks at his phone to delete the picture of him and Chloe, it was such an obvious and cliched thing. i couldn't help thinking it would have been a stronger scene if it was inserted near the end of the episode; maybe when they were on clean-up duty at the park, to have the intended impact. I still love this show and I wish I knew when they were shooting so I could go watch. 1 Link to comment
Sandman June 30, 2015 Share June 30, 2015 (edited) "Well, [Duncan't]'s as dumb as a bag of hammers, but he has step daddy issues." Juliet, you're the best IA mole EVER. I love you!Noelle continues her unbroken streak of being awesome, but the show can't actually expect the audience -- or anyone else, for that matter -- to be taken in by the possibility that Shaw is the mole?Frosty continues to grow on me. Brother Peck is back to being Brother Pecker.ETA: Is anyone else annoyed every time Richard Chevolleau shows up? I swear that guy is the worst actor on the show. The Crooked Commissioner plot would be so much more compelling if a halfway decent actor were in the role. Edited July 1, 2015 by Sandman 1 Link to comment

DropTheSoap June 30, 2015 Share June 30, 2015 Only once? I think Andy has to be endangered about every other episode, the way the season looks so far. 1 Link to comment
Bouffe July 17, 2015 Share July 17, 2015 Loved that Gail went with her gut and got the right person in custody. Peck brother was none too pleased. Fishy fishy fishy. Loved the proposal. It was totally in line with Sam's character. Also loved that Andy is accepting the fact that their relationship is weird, and will never be perfect, because HELLO, that is life. Ward likes Oliver and was trying to put the blame on someone else. Didn't work, of course, because seriously, Diaz? Duncan? 1 Link to comment

SO ANNOYED that she waves the ring and says, NOW you HAVE to tell me what you weren't going to tell me. ARGH. Does that mean no one at 15 knows that Noelle is working for IA? And where is frank?? Home with the baby?? I heart Oliver. His expression as those kids came into the park to help clean up made my heart melt. At least we get to see Celery next week. Gail's face seeing Sophie also melted my heart (and made my ovaries twitch). So frickin' cute. I like Brother Peck, but perhaps he should move to CPD and work for Voight. twoods August 5, 2015 Share August 5, 2015 Sophie is so damn cute. Gail continues to be awesome. Shut up Andy. I ffed through all their crap except the proposal, which was cute. Then I watched Andy whine why Sam doesn't tell her stuff. Back to FF, you egomaniac. Nick and Juliette continue to be cute. Link to comment
Whimsy August 5, 2015 Share August 5, 2015 Ok, so I admit. I don't pay FULL attention while watching this show. And unlike a lot of you- I don't care about Gail at all so I pay even less attention. Is Gail trying to adopt Sophie? Because, if so- good luck to her trying to evolve into the parent figure after telling her she can do whatever she wants because there are no rules or adults at her house. I get she was trying to be "fun", but that just really made me wonder what the hell she was thinking. The rest. Meh. I used to like this show quite a bit. Now I just watch it because I feel like I've always watched it. Link to comment

I thought it was pretty un-parental of her to tell Sophie there was no rules at her house. That's just setting herself up for disaster once (if) the adoption goes through! 2 Link to comment
possibilities August 7, 2015 Share August 7, 2015 I'm still confused about Ward. She reports to Noelle, who is supposedly leading the investigation. But she's also secretly meeting in cars with sleazy guy, right? I'm pretty sure that's not how you act when you're on the up and up and reporting to Noelle in Noelle's office. Link to comment

Yeah, I was confused about this too. Her last meeting with a guy in the car, she basically said she was ready to come in, which I guess meant meeting with Noelle? But her other meetings have been very bizarre, especially the phone call where she needed to check in all the time. Like what?? Does IA really work like that?? Link to comment
