S05.E11: Check-Up With Dr. Drew, Part 1

I saw a little bit of the reunion and I have to ask, what happened to Ryaaaaaaan? He looks very pale and thin and his hair do made him look like such a goober. I was sort of on board with some of the posters here that found him handsome back in the beginning, but what happened?

Just catching up on DVR.

Amber: "My dad died."

Drew: "Are you ok with that?"

Near the beginning of the episode I noticed that in addition to the phrase "teenage pregnancy", DD threw in "unintended pregnancy". Veiled jab at Maci?

And for the record, because it's been lost in the shuffle, the official Farrah-approved reason for the porn I mean leaked sextape was she wanted to document her hot bod on film as a memory for herself. Nobody is calling her out on that, yet.

In all fairness, Maci's status as being unmarried has been brought up. However, it was not a 'Now that Maci's pregnant/had a baby she must get married to the father or she's a ruined woman', but rather, 'Why is Maci purposely trying to get pregnant with a man who's clearly indicated he's not ready for a long term commitment to her?'

The topic of marriage was brought up here because Maci herself kept bringing it up. First, she brought it up many times with Kyle. Now, she did it with Taylor. If Maci had never mentioned marriage on the show, in interviews, or elsewhere, I think no one else here would have brought it up either. Maci is the one who feels marriage is what is required because of her pregnancy, no one else here has felt that way.

That's true, Splain. I actually think it's almost comical - though sad - how often Maci brings it up.  And her friends... and I assume probably the producers. It seems like every time we hear from Maci she gets asked "sooo, when are you getting married?"  Maci looks like some mix of confident and hopeful - like "of course we're getting married, just waitin' for him to ask," while Taylor looks uncomfortable and tries to change the subject. It's probably very awkward for both of them.

That is what I was getting at. The poster asked why "people" were pushing Maci to get married. I responded that no one was saying Maci had to get married at this point, just questioning the logic of planning a pregnancy with someone who had clearly indicted they weren't ready for marriage. There's a difference between thinking someone needs to be married if they have a baby and thinking that purposely trying to get pregnant with someone who doesn't want to marry you is a questionable decision.

I always wondered if Robbie wraps it up with bacon. Maybe that is why Jermy used bacon to slap Leah. It was a subliminal message.

Pretty sure Robbie has a kid. I think The Ashley reported he married the mother early this year.

It's possible he learned from Corey's mistakes and used a condom, but Leah did say she was on the depo shot in high school. Probably one of the few moments of smart parenting mama dawn showed not only putting Leah on bc but also picking a method that didn't rely on Leah taking a pill every day.

Ah could be - I haven't really followed his story much except when he shows up in Leah's life (again, and again, and again...).  That does sound vaguely familiar though. I remember wondering if he'd keep cheating with Leah after he got married. I just can't believe she never ended up pregnant with his kid, but maybe her hookups with him were mostly during her Depo days.
