Orcinus orca August 5 Share August 5 Not sure where this would fit but I ran across a series on Amazon Prime called Highland Midwives. Only three episodes per season but oh so good! And the real bonus is the gorgeous countryside. 4 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8428332
caitmcg December 12 Share December 12 The CtM social media accounts have confirmed that there will be a two-part Christmas special this year, with the first episode broadcast on Christmas as usual, and the second on Boxing Day, December 26. I presume PBS will also have part two the next day, so make sure your DVRs are primed. 1 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8531291

Nothing on December 26 yet and when I checked my local PBS schedule online for that day, it lists a Poirot episode at 8:00 pm and a DCI Banks episode at 9:00 pm. Also, the episode description for Part 1 on my DVR guide refers to Chummy and Cynthia; it seems to be the description of the Christmas episode from 2014. I will keep an eye on it because in recent months there's been a disconnect with the PBS online schedule and what my DVR guide lists. I've had to create some manual recordings since a different show will be on the DVR guide and thus the DVR doesn't record even though I've set up a series recording. It's very aggravating. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8531950
Salacious Kitty December 13 Share December 13 (edited) My guide has a two hour episode listed as Holiday Special 2024 on the 15th. Nothing on the 26th. They must be showing both parts back to back. Usually, the Christmas specials are 90 minutes, so I wonder if they decided to do two one-hour episodes for the BBC broadcast instead. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8532033

No mention of part 1 or part 2, it's listed as the Holiday Special 2024. If they are showing both parts on the 25th, this would mean part 2 is airing in the US before it airs in Great Britain. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8537686

Are we sure this is the newest Christmas special, or are we getting what was shown in the UK last Christmas? PBS has a habit of doing this on many shows. The preview is up on PBS' site and they say it takes place in December 1969. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8538410
chitowngirl Sunday at 02:25 PM Share Sunday at 02:25 PM My local PBS station has our listing for the Call the Midwife Special as “Newly married Chummy and nurse Jenny Lee work their first Christmas at Nonnatus House.” So maybe it’s not national and the locals are airing their own thing? 🤷♀️ 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8538487

The shortened version is: The funfair comes to Poplar, but there are other less welcome visitors to the borough. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8538656

I also thought it was unlikely but it is listed on my DVR and the online schedule for my local PBS station as the Holiday Special 2024. I hope it's accurate, since I often don't watch it until the day after Christmas. I'm usually home from my family gathering in time, but too tired to watch! And if the Christmas Day schedule is not accurate can I trust the schedule for any repeat showings? AstridM Sunday at 07:33 PM Share Sunday at 07:33 PM I don’t have a DVR, but I just watched the 30 second preview on my PBS app, and it’s definitely a 2 hour 2024 new holiday special ❤️. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8538669

Andyourlittledog2 Tuesday at 08:23 PM Share Tuesday at 08:23 PM If you have PBS Passport you can see the 2024 Holiday special today. And it is supposed to be broadcast for everyone tomorrow, Christmas evening. At least that is what Passport says. 1 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/2568-call-the-midwife-in-the-media/page/6/#findComment-8539946
