Do, or do not. There is no try.

(As always, sorry.)

I'm disappointed in you, morgankobi. I fully expected a GIF. *grin*

Not a spoiler, but spoiler tagged to be a good poster and not hog the front page-no spoiler was harmed in the making of this post.

The group realizes that sheltered life might not be possible as life within the walls starts to mimic life outside. Will these setbacks break Rick?

So, that dog on a leash that Rick saw wasn't being kept for a pet?

I'm betting his name is Puppy Chow.  Or if it wasn't, it soon will be.

"I'm gonna take the dog for a walk.  I'll bring back dinner."

Too bad FPP is just a loser coward, and not an evil person dressing as a priest; cause he'd get to use the ultimate SW line (for his character) as his own shtick.

My word. What did I start?

The Unfair Wolves must also be Tusken Raiders. They're smart enough to travel in straight lines to disguise their numbers.

I'm hoping to get some sort of hint of whoever has been carving Ws in things this episode, or at least a mention.

Edited to change "Jawas" to "Tusken Raiders" and hang my head in shame. Sorry to any quoted posts :(

Me too.  Other than the two little visual cues this season, they've seemingly dropped that individual storyline altogether (so far).

I'm fairly sure that in the preview, Daryl has just spotted a Wolf unfairly flaunting a flashlight in those woods.

New sales brochure for ASZ: "Alexandria Safe Zone. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. Starting at $800,000."

They killed Hershel off too quickly.  He'd have pulled off this scene pretty well, before they went to Richmond (? - Noah's old community);

"Are you OK?" - "Yes.  It was as if many frightened voices called out through the Force, and then were suddenly silenced."

I guess we can try.

I speculate that everyone out in the forest will end or run across whoever has been carving the Ws. I'll call them Ewoks, for absolutely no reason. Perhaps, in a unexpected twist, the Ewoks will help our band of rebels fight against the evil empire of ASZ. (heh)

OK, but really, the Unfair Wolves and Morgan need to have a little bit of time at this point, don't they?

I'm trying to also figure out if life inside the walls mimicking outside is about the walkers or the evil people outside the walls. It may be as simple as a natural death and turn of an ASZhat inside the walls, but I don't see that shaking Rick. Although, perhaps the community's lack of preparation and response to said death is what shakes him.

I notice Michonne's clock says 6:30 in that scene, and I assume it's am. As a night owl, if I can't at least sleep in during the ZA when safety and look-outs aren't in play, blow me up in the CDC!

I agree it is morning, isn't she just waking up? So why is she on top of blankets (?) wearing her jeans and belt, ya know, day clothes? If these people have library books and canapes can't they even rustle up some extra things for people to wear? Who can sleep with a belt on?

These people are on a war footing. I will bet most of the CDB gang sleep as if they are constantly under attack. If it was me, it would probably be months before i slept, not fully clothed including my shoes.

Just going by the look on Michonne's face, in the still of that clip, she is reacting to being woken up by an alarm clock the same way I would.

"Are you F'ing serious!?  Of all the things I could never ever miss in terms of my old life, an alarm clock is brought back into play?!  F this noisy shit interrupting the little bit of restful sleep I can still snag from time to time."

But I want to see people fighting walkers in their pajamas! I want to see the place get overrun and CDB have to go back to surviving on the road---in their jammies!

I do wonder if Morgan shows up, if it will be more than two minutes added on to the end post-credits again. At this point, I think they need to give us more than that. And more than "Morgan St."

I wonder if we're about to see the worst case of PTSD ever, after Glenn saw Noah get eaten, close up. Horror plus guilt, the prime ingredients. I don't know how he could even drive the van, though probably that was adrenaline. I'm not sure we've really seen serious PTSD since...Shane? Glenn is so even keel, it could be interesting if he goes really around the bend.

In this world, I don't blame her and and would do the same.

If ASZ is breached, best to be fully dressed, with weapons nearby.

Ready to fight your way out and escape.

Noah's brutal death, is something that Glenn will never be able to unsee.

I expect to see a complete emotional breakdown sometime between this Sunday

and the season finale.   Poor guy will have enomous guilt, because he couldn't

        hold on to Noah.

I completely agree with this. I would have weapons (hidden gun, bullets, katana, Swiss Army knife, Bowie Knife, whatever) non-perishable food, water, couple changes of clothes, blanket, packed away in a backpack near me or quick to get. I would always be wearing sensible clothes and boots.  Because if something happens, I'm grabbing those weapons and my backpack and getting the heck out of there.

That is the one thing that always made me side eye CDB. Only one or two of them (Tara, Glenn) are ever seen carrying a backpack with supplies. Everyone of those people should have one, with essentials. I realize they want them to look unencumbered on screen, but still. So not practical. Just like when they went into a clothing store and grabbed like one shirt. Just ONE?. Take several. Don't worry - they are free!

With Michonne, however amazing she looks, a flimsy white (WHITE!) tanktop is not being prepared. Same with the tight jeans and bulky belt. And Carol, with her mommy clothes, just totally the wrong choice in case of an emergency. But that's me.

Any safe haven in TWD universe should have an escape plan.

Especially if it's a large group, that includes the elderly and children.

Vehicles gassed up and supplies in the trunk.

Preferably a bus, that can tranport a large group of suvivors.

And yes, everyone should have individual backpacks or shoulder bags of some kind.

Stocked with the essentials.

Especially, if the only viable escape is on foot.

Or, you know, downstairs mounted over the fireplace.

I would guess Glenn's need to help Tara (to save someone) was overtaking any guilt/horror.

I think Glenn will go the angry route, as opposed to the PTSD route, because it would make an interesting situation with Maggie, who I think will try to hold the peace pretty strongly. But that's just a guess.

If I'm not mistaken, it looks and sounds like Michonne is wearing leather pants (or really really glossy jeans). Maybe she just returned from a night at Club ASZhat. Either way, she'll be armed and fabulous in case shit hits the fan.

I hope that scene means Rosita might actually have something to do this episode.

That is some serious sacrilege you are preaching. That stuff would be like shooting the Native American horses when they attack your Wagon train. These things are just not done in the real fictional world.

It's also like you and your large group of similarly dressed friends attacking one guy and going in all at once instead of one at a time. Doesn't happen!

Back in the dim and misty past when I was a teenager, I used to keep my very favorite record albums stacked next to my bed so that if a fire broke out in the middle of the night, I could just grab them and run. I would definitely be on Team MRSRAFAELBARBA come the ZA. And actually, I believe that they did have that sort of plan in place at the prison; I guess no one on the planning committee factored in an armed invasion led by a freaking tank, so there ya go.

My take on that clip with Michonne is that she's partway through getting dressed for work (she lays out the cop shirt and the corset-windbreaker on the bed), but she's still obviously affected by Noah's death. When Rosita comes in (yay!) to report that Tara is stable (YAY!), but that Sasha has gone missing and probably gone rogue, Michonne leaves the ASZ uniform behind and takes off to do … whatever, but it's not patrolling the streets of the ASZ for Deanna. This isn't the pretense of community anymore; this shit just got real.

I wonder about Noah's T-shirt all freshly laundered and neatly folded in a basket in Michonne's room. How did it end up there like that? I just got the weird sense that his shirt was being passed on to another survivor now that he's dead. As if it were some SOP in Alexandria, not necessarily done by anyone in CDB. It's a strange thing for me to obsess about, I know, but it just strikes me as being off.

I assume one or both houses has a washer & dryer, so the Alexandrians have nothing to do with the laundry basket. But I didn't see the CDB chore charts in the 360° interactive tour, so I don't know who's responsible for doing what.

I assume Noah tossed his dirty shirt in the hamper before leaving on the run. Nothing nefarious—just one of the everyday sad reminders of their terrible loss.

Episode synopsis:

Rick discovers that the odds and ends of metal that Jessie explained as "an art project" do not really go together to create an owl. Will this discovery break Rick?

Is it wrong of me to mentally picture her in red hair and a small French maid outfit, even on TWD

My eyes! Now there's three of those things swinging at me!

I would like it if this episode brought some more characters back together. This every other episode thing they have going on to split up the characters is disjointing. I get it (even though I don't like it) when the group is truly split, but they are all in one spot. Sure, I guess that's the point, that even though they're together, they're not really "together," but as a viewer, I just don't enjoy it.

CDB (including Judith, who conveniently disappeared) is 14 people. There just isn't room for everyone in one episode. Except Rick: "Will these setbacks break Rick?"
