I say we blame part of issue on Nebraska/Omaha since Council Bluffs (where Farrah and family is from) is basically a suburb of Omaha ;) (But I totally love Omaha)

Amber could be avoiding triggers. She may not want to see herself wrecked because she'll crave the drugs. She was pretty hooked, she admitted chewing fetynl patches. I'm probably giving her too much credit but its possible.

I agree with this. She was in rehab, a comfy pretty rehab, when she was chewing on those patches. She opted to go to prison. I'm pretty sure the court would have been happy leaving her in rehab. She wasn't. She made a very real decision to get clean.

I'm not saying she won't slip up or relapse. I'm just saying I think she is committed to not being on those pills anymore. And she will fight for that, at this age. Ask me in 20 years and I'll have a different answer. For now, I have hope for her. Slip ups and all.

I don't recall Amber going right from rehab to prison. I believe Amber came home from rehab, kept using, violated her probation, and picked prison when faced with continued monitored probation. Amber did not believe she could ever pass a drug test while on probation and prison was inevitable.

She picked one year of prison. Facing 5 years of jail/rehab if I remember correctly.

No matter though, she picked prison. She violated and knew she would violate. If you can't pass a drug test in rehab, when can you? Again, I totally think she will use again. I just think she showed some balls and went hard core with the prison thing. That shows commitment. Not success, necessarily. But commitment, imo.

Yeah, pretty easy to get on board with the commitment idea. Amber isn't soft, she isn't scared to really face consequences. Jenelle cracked after a few nights living in her car with Keffah. I think Farrah is dumb enough to be tricked into being a good person. She just needs a good trainer, maybe someone that works with monkeys, to socialize her.

Farrah and her family are so bat crazy. Its so.. strange to watch their interactions. Like they don't know how to be a family. 

 

God, I know! I watched hers this morning (still have some left) and it was like I was on some alternate universe. Especially that video of them in a hotel eating from room service. Deborah looked all coked out, Farrah was screaming because Deborah's phone rang and Michael was crying as usual.  Farrah called Sophia a different pet name every time she talked about her. It was creepy. "Awww, she's my little poopy nugget".

 

Farrah is just the definition of the word BITCH. She's just a bitch, plain and simple, up and down, left and right, hot and cold. Her "friends" were as weird as her, one spoke in a baby voice. One was invited by the plumber. And Farrah has the Chelsea Houska way of talking. She talks baby talk all. the. time. and adds the "uh" at the end of her sentences. "I said noooooo-uhhhhh! Michael-uhhh!"  She's not even human, it's scary.

I do feel bad for her that "Daddy Derek" died, but I also think about how different her whole life would be if he hadn't. I bet she'd be like a lot of the other "Teen Moms" - in heated battles with the ex over visitation and child support, in a new relationship or two (or three), and having her second kid. Or possibly more like Jenelle - on her second kid and 5th abusive relationship. No plastic surgery, pornos, and personal line of sex toys...

Farrah claims the same type of drug use as Amber in the book Farrah "wrote." It's either a lie or she was never caught. I think the difference between Amber and Farrah is basically economic. Amber is Farrah if Farrah grew up poor and vice versa. (heh)

I feel like Maci is over reacting because as stated, if her reason is truly Bentley, how often are they really around Farrah?

That being said if I had to pick one to be around my child for a more extended period of time, hands down I would pick Amber over Farrah... Yes, Amber had and will likely always have a drug problem to some degree... But she has shown she can make good decisions and she is working towards that. Farrah in the other hand is just straight up delusional, and can't even face up to a blatant mistake when confronted, to me that is more dangerous.

I'm confused. I know they had the "Being Maci/ Amber/ Katelynn/Farrah specials awhile back and I just watched the Catch Up show with those three. I feel I've missed something. Was there another special that aired? Where is all this other Farrah footage (Debra with a facelift & feather) coming from? I watched those hour long shows of each girls ages ago. Did I just block out all the content? 

 

Part of me is tired of the whole quasi-celeb crap while the other part fights to DVR every second...God help me.

aurora296 - you must have missed the newest catch-up shows.  The Being Maci, Being Amber, etc. specials that you saw were aired a while back.  But just recently they aired new catch up specials where the girls are watching old footage from over the years and stuff.  In Farrah's Debra was wearing a feather in her hair, yes.  And then there was one extra one, a final catch-up special with Maci/Amber/Catelynn and they find out that Farrah will be coming back after all.  

 

I saw all except the very last one where they find out Farrah is coming back and I am SO mad because I can't see anywhere that it's going to air again and I really wanted to see it (pathetic, I know)!!

I missed that one too! I saw the comments here and couldn't figure it out, so thanks for posting. I hope they air it again. They tend to run that stuff over-and-over-and-over right before new shows air, so hopefully they'll show it again.

It starts tonight at 7:30 Eastern time and runs through until 6AM Monday morning. There's a short break for morning music but the marathon picks back up at 9am ands runs until just after midnight.

Could be worth looking at your DVR options if you're so inclined.

In case anyone missed the latest "Catch Up" show, I was able to watch it on my Free On Demand through my cable provider, Optimum/Cablevision. I noticed that the recent individual "Being Amber" (or Maci/Catelynn/Farrah) shows were available on there, too.

I watched several of the old episodes from the marathon airing last night. Just reflecting on certain parts, looking at them from a different point of view now that I'm a mom and knowing how things turned out several years after the fact:  Amber is just a completely difficult person all around. Even though Gary is annoying in his own way, I give him a lot of credit in dealing with Amber when Leah Leah LeAnn was first born. I watched the meatloaf Cracker Barrel episode and I thought it was a sweet gesture. Then he offers to move back in with his mom so Amber and Leah can have the apartment that he's paying all the bills on. Then or course seeing her pounding on Gary while he silently takes it, Amber's dad sticking his nose in and berating Gary because he didn't answer the phone. I was feeling sorry for him. 

 

Then watching the Maci and Ryan dynamic. I share custody of my son with an ex-boyfriend and our situations are similar. I find that Maci says a lot of things that I've said myself in regard to dealing with the dad of my child. "He gets to be the fun dad while i have to do everything else. He can slack off parenting responsibilities, because he knows  it will somehow get done by me...etc"

 

I have a soft spot for Catelynn and Tyler since I live a couple counties over from them.  I don't know much about updates, but I hope they have steered clear of Butch and April. Butch is just a clueless idiot and I want to punch that pissy look off Aprils face. It doesn't surprise me that Catelynn can be so needy. I can't imagine being a mom and treating my child like she does.

Sorry for the posting frenzy, but I found the latest catch up special on MTV.com They're called Getting To Know You Farrah/ Amber/ Maci/ Catelynn.

 

I've watched the first 10 minutes of Farrah's  in HD and OMG she is scary looking! Those horribly fake teeth and the swollen lips that are as hard as cement and don't move right. Her skin/ makeup is like the work of an undertaker. Way too matte and not the color of normal skin. She is sincerely creepy. Debra does look better, but remove the feather and a little pressed powder does wonders for facial shine. Michael needs some teeth whitening. They might look normal with regular looking people, but compared to Farrah's bright headlight teeth, his look dingy. And sorry to say, because it's not her fault, but Sophia has grown out of her cuteness.  The MTV people that were setting up with Farrah and family all must've taken a course in Ass Kissing 101 because they were treating Farrah like Queen B and she was eating it up.

I don't care much for Tyler, I think he's always played good guy for the cameras and has always gotten a good edit. I think the real Tyler is an animal abuser with a really bad temper.

I do have a soft spot for Catelynn though. My mom was a lot like April. I was a teen mom and while I didn't choose adoption and have to deal with that situation with my mom, she did get drunk, slam me into the refrigerator and throw me onto the floor while I was pregnant. She wanted to teach me a lesson for getting pregnant so young. So I do feel for Catelynn. I just wish she'd get some independence ffrom Tyler and stop being so clingy. Kids from homes like ours have been beaten down so much that need to work hard to get our independence and realize we CAN make it on our own.

April was in Catelynn's catch-up show where they sat down and watched old footage.  Sounded like their relationship was MUCH better but when April start seeing shitty footage of herself she booked it out of there real quick and didnt' come back for the rest of the episode.  They said watching that stuff was too hard on her.
