Thanks. I'm going to try and hold off watching, it's my New Year's resolution lol. I've read every preview and feel over spoiled already. Watching these are probably going to either knock my expectations of a good episode down a notch or make me even more impatient for Monday to come.

But I'm so shallow I adore looking at them, this is TV "reality" where she gets to have both a wonderful apartment and fantastic wardrobe.

 

It's not like every other TV show out there does the same thing with real estate and clothing.  It would be less fun to see people who's apartments and wardrobes look like mine.

Stana was at the show for what, a few hours?  That probably works out to 2 minutes of the episode.

Isn't the two-parter supposed to be focused on the new Castle "mythology"? That would mean they will concentrate on him, we know they can't concentrate on more than one character at a time usually. They get cross-eyed or something.

 

Yep. That's why it's no surprise IMO they sent Stana to pick up the awards, since Nathan's definitely got the heavier workload in the two-parter out of any of the cast members.

That was a lovely dress. And she looks much much nicer than the model. (Of course, the thing with runway models is, they are not supposed to draw attention away from the clothes. Which is why from time to time you will see heads swathed in gauze or kabuki makeup. Anonymizing.)

Nathan was complaining on Twitter about a car alarm going off wherever they were shooting. Apparently it kept on blaring for about half an hour.

 

This was Nathan's third 'favourite actor' PCA wasn't it? How many other actors have that?

And Castle's second?

The categories may have varied.

I think this is the 2nd for everyone/thing, right?

 

Stana won last year, too, so this is her second.

Nathan won ... two years ago? so this would be his second.

And Castle won last year, too, right? so this is the show's second.

 

EDIT:

Nope, I was wrong. This is Nathan's third - he won in 2012, 2013, missed the final nomination in 2014, and won this year.

This is Castle's 4th - they were nominated and won in 2012, 2013, 2014, and this year.

This is Stana's second - she was missed the final nomination in 2012, lost to Ellen Pompeo in 2013, and won in 2014, and this year.

 

It should be noted that they've narrowed the competition - Castle has always been up for "fav. crime drama", but until this year both Nathan and Stana were up for "fav. drama actor/ess" instead of this year's "fav. crime actor/ess".

 

Also for what it's worth, Jon/Seamus lost last year in "fav. bromance", Castle/Beckett lost last year in "fav. on-screen chemistry", and Nathan/Stana lost this year in "fav. tv duo". Oddly, "fav. tv duo" and "fav. on-screen chemistry" are almost the same thing (one is their fictional counterparts as opposed to the actors) and was lost both times to Elena/Damon (aka. Nina Dobrev/Ian Somerhalder) from The Vampire Diaries.

Well, Ellen Degeneres has 15 for daytime host ... but I'm not sure who has the most as an actor.

I've often wondered if she would like to direct. ED and DB on Bones are regulars now in the director's chair but so far Nathan and Stana have shown no such inclination.

 

I'm surprised she doesn't want to direct an ep of Castle since she might learn a lot with a crew that's she's comfortable with. Several actors do their directorial debut on a show they stared on. Tho I do think it's gutsy to write and directed your 1st ep for a show that you star in. That's a lot of work to memorize your lines and film while writing your ep and prep to direct in whatever ep you're currently working on then do that again for your own ep with the added work of script rewrites, directing and working with the editor. At this point if Nathan ever wants to get his pitched idea of the poor man's cop/writer duo to make it on screen, he'll either half to write it himself or co-write it with one of the current writers.

I'd like to see Stana move into directing. Although older (over 35, sheesh) actresses are getting more and better parts nowadays, her interests seem to be more serious and 'artsy' than she may be able to achieve on-screen when the series ends.

Having another set of skills is never a bad thing.

She has both produced and directed other projects one with Seamus.

Oh I know that's the way of it on most shows (and movies) and there's no reason why Castle should be any different. It's never claimed to be some gritty, hard hitting show on the life of a NY cop.  It doesn't bother me unless they draw my attention to it in some stupid way. I enjoy looking at pretty things.

Yeah they're still filming 7.15 by the looks of things.

 

It would make a nice change not to have the FBI or CIA involved for once. 

 

At this stage principal filming for 7.15 will wrap on January 15.

Nathan Fillion & Alan Tudyk project

 

Other than that, I think I’m supposed to start promoting [this] – we’re just beginning our promotion, so I think this will be one of the first times I’ve said it.  I’m going to be crowd-funding something very soon.  A project with Nathan Fillion, the two of us.  Together.  And it is something that we want to do together.  I don’t know how much I can say.  All I want to do is talk about it!!  It will be soon – in the beginning of February, so it’s right around the corner!  And it has to do with the Sci-Fi world, so it will be fun!

 

Nathan is going to be busy boy soon by the looks of things.

On a related note, I saw Chad tweet sometime this week about working on an outline, so I imagine the Creaseys will have a 3rd episode this season coming up (as I suspected they might). I still wonder how each of the might do if they wrote an episode individually rather than as a pair.

I hear that the big after-party events are more important than the actual show. Especially for networking and shop talk. I want Stana to sink her teeth into a new, great, project post Castle. As I've said before ... something on cable. 13 episodes [free up more time for film projects] and something dramatic that will be worthy of her talent. So if she has to walk a few carpets and get her face out there to help ... good for and good luck to her.

I love seeing Stana out and about, but what is the reason she attends so many red carpets (particularly for projects she's not part of)? Networking/getting her face out there for future roles? She just likes the experience?

I thought attending parties, premiers and walking red carpets is what all celebrities have to do from time to time, whether they like it or not. Mingling, connecting, just showing their faces to the press and industry folk. Though I have no clue really.

Yeah, this is how I understood it too. It's networking and meeting or reconnecting with industry folks. Since Stana has a few projects she's producing/developing/trying to finance right now, she'd be nuts not to take advantage of attending these events. I do agree she looked tired. But she gets to have someone dress her up in a gown and jewelry, do her makeup and hair and probably enjoy a few open bars (which would be MY favorite part, lol), so it's a trade-off I suppose. ;) 

 

CAA threw its own post-Globes party, and I'm surprised Nathan wasn't there. He did go to some parties last year over the Globes weekend.

I’m surprised the show has so much going on, if it is still true that during the two parter they might also touch upon Castle’s disappearance. That's three things out of the ordinary, never been there before.

 

And I’m glad somebody heard me whining all year long to myself after reading a snippet about a new Marlowe project (But, but I want Castle as a Private Investigator, not a new series about Philip Marlowe…). So I’m delighted, no matter how they execute it. Probably. But the sneak peek looked good and I’m more than ready for a little change.

3XK and Neiman should've been behind Castle's disappearance to begin with ... instead of this other bullshit. The characters are already established and it made perfect sense. At this point do the writers know where this whole "mythology" is heading? This 2 parter would be perfect opportunity to delve more into it but they're going the 3XK route ... which I'm not complaining about. Will take it over the alternative.

PS: You can tell the difference between the writers who started Beckett's mythology (so to speak) and Castle's. Will Bealle did a great job of tying the episodes, of JB's murder, from episode to episode. Even if they only addressed it 2x per season. These writers aren't typing Castle's mythology together, in my opinion. It's not answering 20 questions but adding 20 more questions to keep you interested from episode to episode. Just more questions and confusion. Bored w. it.

That's the huge problem with this mythology, they just piled a load of confusing shit on fans in the first couple of episodes at the start of the season and didn't give out a single concrete lead or hook to keep you going whilst they moved on. I agree with you, they don't have a clue where they're going with it.

I may be in the minority on this but even though he's an existing threat I don't want the 3xk/Nieman business to be ultimately linked in any way to Castle's disappearance. Next thing you know in the finale we discover Rick is really 3xk in disguise or in league with them or some such stupidity.

Networking in Hollywood is considered vital, that's the impression I get. It's all about who you know that can often swing you that part or get you a casting call at least. She needs the exposure at places like this, she's not some big star that has power and influence already or someone like Fillion who has probably made enough connections over the years that he's not so concerned with getting chummy with all these folks at red carpet appearances.

And if Castle is to wrap up either this season or next then she needs to be preparing herself.

Why he is risking to appear again?

I don't think you're meant to look too closely into why 3XK would be coming back.

 

I thought the whole idea in Probable Cause was that he set them up so he could disappear with everyone assuming he was dead and be free to keep on killing elsewhere, the last thing he wanted to do was come back to annoy them. 

 

That so called "exclusive" about 3XK is the biggest non news story yet but I hope since he's back they let us find out more about why Castle enjoys writing about murder. What I loved about the first outing for this guy was their conversation in that hotel room, now that's the kind of scene using genuinely tense drama linked to genuine character development they used to do so well.

Samantha, I was thinking that while TPTB said in interviews that it wasn't 3XK, there's nothing in canon to say he isn't behind it. Maybe after the last round of responses to ABC advisory THEY pushed TPTB in a different direction to maybe even resolve some of this. But you sure are right about more questions and no answers. I'm thinking of the dengue fever right now...

Yeah why Castle enjoys writing about murder sound more interesting and better character development than whatever they were trying to do the in 1st 2 eps this season. Nothing really made any sense. It was drama for the sake of drama and the only thing I got interested in was the throwaway line about Castle as a kid in Hollander Woods.
