topanga June 8, 2016 Share June 8, 2016 I loved the car scene when the security officer asked Marty to step out of the car. Doug's righteous anger when he started recording with his phone and yelled "Black Lives Matter!"--that cracked me up. 2 Link to comment
ganesh June 11, 2016 Share June 11, 2016 Too much of Doug being a moron for plot. I'm having a tough time thinking he'd look at porn at work. I guess if it's his own laptop, but still. I like this Cuba plot and I like that they're going to feed Monica false information. Jeannie at home being so bored was funny, especially with "the baby" telling her to go get drunk. I agree with her that Marty is going to be bored if they sell the company, but the sheer amount of money will take care of both their families for generations. The options for what they could do next is limitless. 3 Link to comment
auntiemel June 12, 2016 Share June 12, 2016 If Marty got a huge payout, agree that he could never live a life of leisure. I'd love to see him start his own company. Not a cosultancy, but a company that offers an original product or service. It would be neat to imagine him using his incisive business ideas to build his own empire as opposed to others'! 1 Link to comment
DarkRaichu June 13, 2016 Share June 13, 2016 So weird to see season end with the pod coming on top, until I saw that this would be the series finale. :( The final scenes of casts and crews dancing in Cuba was a great way to end the series. 2 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo June 13, 2016 Share June 13, 2016 Clyde: Skip, you look like Ricky Ricardo fucked Justin Bieber. Monica: What you got working, Marty? Marty: Now what makes you think I've got something working, Mo? Monica: Oh, because of your fucking tell. You see, quiet humble Marty - that means he's got a shiv in his palm. Marty: What are you going to do with all that cheddar? All that time on your hands? Clyde: Live the dream. Marty: What does that look like? Clyde: I have no fucking idea. Probably build houses for people who can afford houses Marty: You're very naughty. Monica: You're very drunk. Marty: Perfect relationship. Monica: It is about a willingness to fully exploit your labor force, your natural resources. It is a willingness to actively, aggressively deregulate and reach a climate of maximum growth potential. Doug: You're welcome! If it weren't for my intellectual curiosity, we would never be able to manipulate Monica like this! Clyde: "Intellectual curiosity"? Are you fucking kidding me? You opened up dirty spam to jerk off in the office! Jeannie: So sorry, Doug. Thank you for being a horny idiot. Jeannie: Marty, did you marry me last night? Marty: Yup, yup, I think might have. Jeannie: Did you steal this car last night? Marty: No, that was you. You stole the car. Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo June 13, 2016 Share June 13, 2016 Watching everyone dance together at the end was my favorite part of the episode. I hope that was as fun for them to do as it was for me to watch! 2 Link to comment
cali1981 June 13, 2016 Share June 13, 2016 It wasn't the best closer that I've ever seen. It seemed very rushed and disjointed at times but having a lot of the cast members dancing at the end was nice. 1 Link to comment
whiporee June 13, 2016 Share June 13, 2016 Got no issue with any of it. Marty finds his soul, Monica loses. Toby goes back to the White House. No Roscoe. Kristen Bell looks lovely playing happy. Better show than its rep suggests, and a pretty good way to wrap it up. 3 Link to comment
cattykit June 14, 2016 Share June 14, 2016 Fascinating seeing everything in Cuba after it's been closed off to us forever. Reminds of me of the awe and wonderment everyone felt when Nixon went to China, another country that had been closed off for decades. This show had its ups and downs but I will miss it. 2 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo June 14, 2016 Share June 14, 2016 I was really surprised that they were allowed to film in Cuba. When I saw the first promo a few weeks ago, I assumed they filmed in San Diego (as they did when Duncan snuck off to Cuba on Veronica Mars - although to be fair, that show was based in San Diego and the CW definitely didn't have the budget to send them to Cuba to film one scene). 1 Link to comment
scrb June 14, 2016 Share June 14, 2016 I'm not sure I understand. Marty was trying to get a deal for massive development and so was Monica. Cuban govt. wasn't having any of it. So how did Marty come out on top? Marty and what's her name marry. Are they dropping out of the consulting game? Well this deal would have allowed them to retire but since the crazy kids get married, they'll be happy and rich but not uber rich. Maybe they're happy because Monica didn't win? Meanwhile some gringos in suits show up and every Cuban wants to dance with them, have a big Caribbean version of a Bollywood dance number at the end? With the Buena Vista Social Club everywhere they go? i think they may still be living in the House of Lies after all this. Link to comment
Joimiaroxeu June 14, 2016 Share June 14, 2016 Wow, CBS is trying hard to get inroads into Cuba aren't they? This episode was almost like 20 minute commercial/travelogue. But it was topical I guess since the president has thawed relations and it's become the latest re-new frontier. Of course the management consulting firms would be desperate to get in there. 2 Link to comment
ganesh June 17, 2016 Share June 17, 2016 I had no idea this was the series ender. I would have hoped for a more substantial episode. I would have at least liked some idea of where Roscoe was going. whiporee July 20, 2016 Share July 20, 2016 They thought they were going to be done, but they didn't KNOW they were done when they filmed. While it felt like a series wrap up, I don't think it was written that way. I think they were happy because they realized they didn't really want to sell, didn't want to give up what they've built. And happy Monica didn't actually win, and happy they screwed her in the process. 1 Link to comment

It looked to me like Marty and Jeannie were going to try to "have it all", keep Kaan & Associates open but be more involved with parenting. I did get the impression that they wouldn't go at it so hard, that they'd not be quite so cutthroat. I didn't care for those last few minutes though. Seeing Skip and some of the crew dancing in the street -- at least one of them wearing a House of Lies cap -- took me out of the story. Instead of wondering what lay ahead for everyone, I was reminded that this was just a TV show. Link to comment
