nicepebbles November 22, 2014 Share November 22, 2014 My pick for Bow's patents: Alfre Woodard and Alan Alda and her mom being hippier than the dad. I've haven't seen the latest episode so maybe they had them on. 2 Link to comment
BoogieBurns November 22, 2014 Share November 22, 2014 I was thinking Alfonso RIbiero should move into the neighborhood as a new character. 5 Link to comment
Rinaldo November 22, 2014 Share November 22, 2014 @nicepebbles , I was thinking Michael Gross (similar "sensitive New-Age guy" vibe to Alda), but I can't do better than Alfre Woodard. Few great actresses (which she is) are willing to be downright silly if the part calls for it, but she is. She'd be a good match for her daughter that way. 1 Link to comment

mtlchick November 23, 2014 Share November 23, 2014 I want Oprah on simply because the writers seem to love Oprah. Link to comment
Rinaldo November 23, 2014 Share November 23, 2014 The problem with that is, the real Oprah exists in the show's universe. Link to comment
nicepebbles December 4, 2014 Author Share December 4, 2014 @Rinaldo, I like that choice. I think Oprah can be on the show as herself. Link to comment
mojito December 10, 2014 Share December 10, 2014 I like Michael Gross better than Alan Alda, only because Alda's pushing 80. Would like to see someone who hasn't already played that kind of part, though. Treat Williams, Kelsey Grammar, Harry Anderson. I just kinda picked them randomly. 1 Link to comment
Tiger December 11, 2014 Share December 11, 2014 I want Lynn Whitfield as Bow's mom, just to see go up against Jennifer Lewis. 2 Link to comment
mojito December 11, 2014 Share December 11, 2014 Lynn Whitfield. I haven't seen her in a long, long time. I'm fine with that pick, too. I like allowing actors to act and play parts that we're not accustomed to seeing them play. Usually, they don't disappoint. Link to comment
Inquisitionist December 11, 2014 Share December 11, 2014 I like Michael Gross better than Alan Alda, only because Alda's pushing 80. Michael Gross would be a great, age-appropriate choice (b. 1947 to Alda's 1936). He'd pair up nicely with either Alfre Woodard (1952) or Lynn Whitfield (1953). They have to age Laurence Fishburne (1961) quite a bit for his role (Jennifer Lewis, too, 1957). Link to comment
xaxat December 11, 2014 Share December 11, 2014 They only thing I was really hoping for was a Christmas episode featuring a white Santa/black Santa debate. Done! (And, as a bonus, we got Mexican Santa too!) Link to comment
PRgal December 12, 2014 Share December 12, 2014 Michael Gross would be a great, age-appropriate choice (b. 1947 to Alda's 1936)... And a nice nod to his 1980s role as Steven Keaton. Link to comment
DollEyes December 12, 2014 Share December 12, 2014 I would like to see Jeremy Sisto do a guest spot as one of the Johnson's new neighbors, who could just happen to be gay. It could also be a shout-out to Suburgatory and a Law & Order reunion with Anthony Anderson, his former co-star of the latter. 2 Link to comment
nicepebbles December 19, 2014 Author Share December 19, 2014 I like Lynn Whitfield as her mom. If Bow has siblings (can't remember if they've said), I suggest Jesse Williams and Persia White. JW plays/ed a doctor on Grey's Anatomy. He can be a doctor on this show and Bow can be all proud her baby bro is a doctor, too. He's biracial and gorgeous. PW can play a straight-laced character, a reformed hippie. We'd see shades of her character from Girlfriends where she worked with TER. She's biracial and very attractive as well. Link to comment

BoogieBurns December 20, 2014 Share December 20, 2014 Bow said she has two sisters. I want one of them to be Maya Rudolph. I always want more Maya Rudolph! Link to comment

QueBueno January 8, 2015 Share January 8, 2015 No votes for the actress who plays Bow's mom to be her actual mother? The Fabulous.Miss.Diana.Ross. 1 Link to comment
BoogieBurns January 8, 2015 Share January 8, 2015 The Fabulous.Miss.Diana.Ross. Sure! Seconded. I've liked every suggestion so far. I'm just happy to see more black ladies on my TV during primetime. 1 Link to comment
Tiger January 8, 2015 Share January 8, 2015 (edited) No votes for the actress who plays Bow's mom to be her actual mother? The Fabulous.Miss.Diana.Ross.I definitely want t to see Diana Ross on the show, but not as Bow's mom.ETA: the primary, though not only reason, is that I think it would be difficult to get her to guest star a few times per year. On that note, Tracee's brother Evan and his awful awful wife can please stay the hell away. Edited January 8, 2015 by Tiger 1 Link to comment
Joimiaroxeu January 8, 2015 Share January 8, 2015 After the Waiting to Exhale references in last night's show (Law of Attraction) I wonder if they're considering Angela Bassett. She's about the same age as Jennifer Lewis. Link to comment
